I think the course material was good. The biggest issue I have is the required time you need to spend on each page. I think the time you have allowed on a lot of the pages is to long as I found myself disengaging from the material when I would have to wait an additional 30-60 seconds after I finished reading the material before I could go to the next page. I think you need to re-evaluate your timings on each page.

Too long on course making decisions on the water needs cognitive skills much quicker than course I believe my score would have been the same if I challenged the test

The videos did not always work well. To much information.

I was disappointed that you could not review the questions that we’re missed on the quizzes and test. If the goal is to learn the material, why are you not able to see what questions were missed. If you know what you did wrong, it would help with learning.

Hey Peter - thanks for the feedback! Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the checks and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. As boaters too, we understand the feedback and are working with regulators to try and improve the process within the confines of online testing. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

passed the test but the content is boring and I sometimes had to wait longer than the actual video to go to the next stage

Minimum time required before advancing to next part was sometimes up to about a minute longer than the video or audio clip, which was very frustrating and meant the course took me over 4 hours instead of the suggested 3 hours. Some quizzes contained questions covered in a later part, e.g. question in relation to a boat with a blue and white flag.

The course took way too long and should allow people to skip to take the test when they feel ready not when the course decides. It takes hours to get through all the lessons. Too long!!

I don't know if you guys choose the questions but, REALLY - half were so simple and commonsensical that my dog could have done them and an entire bunch were predicated on little details that were NOT important for safe boating....For example, the hypothermia question; no one cares if the temperature is 5 degrees or minus 15 degrees - we don't put thermometers in the water when someone is suffering - we take care of them. A LOT of your questions were silly and anal - not relevant at all for professional or safe boating. Insulting to both you and us. Why not review the test and offer questions that test applicability and NOT anality - i.e. memorizing unimportant details....

Content OK but delivery way too slow!!!! I would read and digest and still have 45 seconds on average to sit and wait, several screens were well over a minute. You need the ability to adjust pace - lots of wasted time.

Thanks for taking time to leave feedback Brad. We understand the test can take a while for some students, but the time requirements and quizzes are required by Transport Canada and NASBLA to ensure students of all reading levels are able to fully understand all content. The timed requirements are the same across all course providers, and we find many students prefer the convenience of completing the course from the comfort of home, rather than in a classroom setting. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

Too much focus on ocean waters, etc. which I will never boat on. Perhaps create different licensing options. I only boat on lakes.

It would help to know what answers we got wrong on the quizzes to help correct them for the test

We were unable to review our quizzes and the test to see what questions we answered incorrectly. It would be better for learning to see the questions we got wrong.

The course was organized quite well. However, for a course that is required by the government, I thought that it would've have been more professional. I highly recommend that somebody review the content for spelling errors, as there was multiple mistakes. Additionally, you may want to review the signs and symptoms of hypothermia and heat exhaustion. As somebody who is in the medical field, I can assure you that not all your information is accurate. Thank you.

I think the course is slightly out of date, because there were questions containing terms that I had never seen or heard of before. I'm also a fast reader, and being forced to wait a minute and a half to read 60-70 words was really annoying. All in all though, I was adequately equipped to pass the exam

Course was helpful though I would say not critical to passing. One thing you may wish to do is spell check your content, there were several typos in your modules. Cheers, Sean

I found the info to be great and very helpful, especially for a brand new boater like myself. However I found that the course was drug out way too long! The timer on the bottom before the next slide did t make sense to me. It just strung the course out for the better part of my day. My opinion is if you got rid of that timer, you would have an excellent course and would have gotten 5 stars from me for sure!!

Your mandatory timeframes on each sections are horrible and they are either far too long every time or much too short.

Although I did retain some info, I really didn't like that you couldn't take the test again right away, if you failed... that you were forced to retake the entire module again. That functionality really irritated me and actually took away from my learning experience very distracting. I would definitely change that limited functionality.
