Certainly covers what you need to know to pass the test, but the little timers that won't let you advance to the next slide until some random amount of time has passed (that has nothing to do with the amount of time it takes to read the text, watch the video, or listen to the audio) get incredibly irritating after a while. The course could probably be completed in 30-50% less time without the idiotic timers.

Hi there, We understand the timers can be frustrating for quick readers, but they are required by NASBLA and Transport Canada to ensure all students take the time to truly read and understand the information. All course providers have the same time requirements.

I passed!

I learned lots of information. However, most of it does not relate to just having a boat on the lake. I feel that I just needed a course on recreational boating. I thought this online course was way too long.

easy to follow the instructions and modules. However one should have a printed copy handy while doing the modules and the test.

I found the book very helpful. I first read a chapter then did the chapter on-line. It really helped to cement the information.

I like learning new courses especially related to keeping other people safe. I practiced the quizzes on each section probably at least 5 times. I do feel a lot of the questions did not show up in the quizzes as on the final test. I did go back and try to make sure if I was not comfortable on a question to review it. As I was taking the final test got very nervous I would not pass as the questions I thought quite different.

Easy to pass but knowing what I got wrong at the end of exam would make me a safer boater. If I don't know what I need to correct, my learning is incomplete.

great videos! very helpful, some of the larger sections would be a lot better and a lot more helpful. that way it would be a lot easier to remember the stuff. but all in all great experience.

Just a couple of minor suggestions. Noticed a spelling mistakes in the on-line course. Can't recall where, but the word 'following' was spelt 'fallowing'. In Module 7, Overboard Rescue Techniques, would it be worthwhile to mention another tip to get the victim from the water (at the side of the boat) into the boat by 'bouncing' the person up and down a few times, and at the apex of their highest 'bounce', would be the better opportunity to haul them inboard. Just a thought.....

I bought the book and online card for the online test. I found out after reading the joon the card was also the online book. I spent 8 hours on the online book because the quizzes don't tell you what you got wrong so you can't learn from your mistakes. Once I finished the online book I did the online exam and I wasn't happy. In the exam there are things that weren't taught in either book that were expected to be known. Had they been either taught or not used on the exam I would've scored much better.
