Online course was extremely lengthy, although importance was understood. For a casual small pleasure-craft user, I feel there should be 2 different courses depending on type of boat one operates. Further, I felt a number of questions on the test were not even covered in the course material.

I took the online quizes before doing the final exam. After each module there is a quiz which was the same information as the boat smart book i had purchased which helped me gain understanding and knowledge for the quizes. When i took the final exam i found the questions were not the same and the information was not in my boat smart book which made it hard for me to answer correctly. I failed the final exam the first time by 1%!!!!!! and overall it took me about 7 hours to complete :(

It is good to emphasize the fact that alcohol consumption leads so frequently to boating accidents and the rules for seadoos etc. I would, however, have liked to see much more emphasis on marker buoys and how to navigate them, particularly the green and red ones. It is really hard to know what is the "downstream" and "upstream" channel when you in an unfamiliar lake thus difficult to know whether to stay on the port or starboard side of the buoys. Also, as an aside, I was canoeing in Massassaga Provincial Park this summer and the motorboat drivers rarely (like virtually never) slowed down when passing canoes. One group of young girls was actually swamped by the wake of a motorboat and had to swim their canoes to shore to empty them! In the same park we camped on a channel that was probably less than 30 meters across. Lots of motorboats drove by, none slowed to 10 mph as the law says and the shoreline and canoes was constantly being bashed about by their wake. Why, in such a well-used park was there no policing of this dangerous and discourteous action?

I really loved everything about your online course, it's super informative and very visual. There is ONE thing that really annoyed me. If someone reads the physical Boat Smart book and buys the test, they have sit for 8-9 hours re-reading everything they just read, in order to take the test. It's frustrating to spend a few days learning the material and then have to sit down and spend another day watching the movies with identical content. You should be able to buy JUST the test, or at least have a warning in the physical book that you're required to take the online course, regardless of whether you read the book or not. I would have bought my license a long time ago, but I bought the book first, studied for a few days, bought the test and found out that I have sit for a whole day to get through the content. It really put me off of taking the test and didn't attempt the course again until a year later. I would suggest an option to just take the test, otherwise, don't offer a physical book.

Excellent. Very thorough. The lessons, rightly, over-prepare you for the Tansport Canada's test. Would suggest using standard as well as the metric system of measurement.

The modules are very thorough. As I do lake boating only, I found the information very overwhelming. Would it make any sense to have an exam for lake only? I found the timer throughout the modules a bit annoying. I think we can do without. Thank you

Very useful, easy to navigate and I like how it saved my progress so I didn't have to do the entire program at once. I Would recommend it.

Great accredited online boating training program to acquire basics about boating safety, and navigation rules, and decision making in an adverse situation while boating.

Great place to take your course. You get you temporary card right away and your real card comes a few weeks later. It only takes around 3.5 hours where as some classes are 2 day courses. It's a little dry but if I had to do it again it would be on this site.

Good course. Easy to understand and go through. However, I still have not received my official Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

I had a great deal of trouble signing/getting into the test site to do the course and complete the test. It took several phone calls and I was told that the Explorer Browser has given some problems so to try the Chrome Browser which meant of course downloading and setting preferences for another online internet browser. This was a little tedious and I must admit that if I had not already paid my Fee I would have likely moved on to another provider of the course. I also found that even then some of the video in the course material did not play very well with interruptions and restarts required.

The amount of time required to pass before you an proceed to next portion of a module seems arbitrarily set. Some slides had little to no information, yet I had to wait minutes to proceed. Combine the fact that some people have prior knowledge, the delay makes the entire process frustrating.

Thanks for taking the time to provide a review. At this time, we are unable to change the length of the course as the 3-hour timer is required in Canada by Transport Canada, and required in the U.S. by NASBLA. We understand this may be frustrating for students, however, please understand that the 3-hour timer ensures that all students are able to fully understand all of the course content. Every course provider must meet this requirement and in order to be able to take the course online, from the comfort of home, students must spend 3 hours in the course. Thanks for hanging in there - your 3 hours of studying will get you a lifetime of safe boating fun!

Very good platform with a nice learning videos and good learning flow. Only disadvantage i found was that at the end of each module where there is exam, it tells you the score of the test (i.e. 80%) but it does not show you the questions you answered wrong. Other then that, i recommend it!
