Good program delivery, offering an instructional video and a written portion to follow along with. Content can be very dry and boring at some parts, but that's to be expected.

Everything about the course was great. However When I failed one quiz I was rather annoyed I had to sit though an entire module all over again just to retake the 10 question quiz. It of course still bennifited me to re read the entire module over but really it would have been more convenient to only have to re study the sections that pertained to the two questions I got wrong. Also I feel another 10 minutes on the final exam would have been a little less stressful. I finished with 3-4 minutes left and I felt I was answering the questions pretty quickly. Other then those two things the online course and modules where very well written and explained and it was worth the money. On a positive note the customer service was great. I had some questions before taking the final exam and I emailed the customer service center and not even 6 hours later I had a response. Goood job! Great customer service in this day and age is a huge deal! Thanks again BOATsmart Shawn

I think it was a good experience and I learnt a lot of safe practices from it

Sufficient time to do test. Mix of easy and more difficult questions.

The quiz at the end of each module should allow the student to see which questions they answered erroneously, after all this is the study segment. You can't correct/review what you don't know that you erred on.

It was painfully long, but overall the test itself is set up very well.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback Bill! We understand the test can take awhile for some students, but the time requirements and quizzes are required by Transport Canada (or NASBLA) to ensure all students are able to fully understand all content. The timed requirements are the same across all course providers, and we find many students prefer the convenience of completing the course from the comfort of home, rather than in a classroom setting. Thanks for sticking with it, and safe boating!

People should be able to go directly to the exam. Some already have the book and have studied and shouldn't have to review the whole thing if they think they are ready for the exam.

I found the whole thing was a little long, but I'm sure it was all necessary.

It was a very long, time consuming course!Very thorough & tough exam. Ifeel that the (PWC) section should be an add on to this exam for those who want to operate a (PWC) . I also think there are a lot of retirees like myself, that will never drive a (PWC) & will never be using my boat on seas or oceans! This course is too large, with too much info for a retired person who only wants to operate a power boat on local inland lakes & rivers! There should be a exam for this type of pleasure craft use that would exclude the operator from operating their pleasure craft on oceans & seas, & exclude them from operating a (PWC). This would make for a very sensible, more compact course for a very large number of people, like myself. It is nice to be able to do the course online. Regards Daniel McIntyre

Easy to navigate.

A very comprehensive course. The toughest part was in understanding what the various buoys meant and it appeared as if some of these were not covered in the modules and I ended up guessing. It certainly gave me a lot of insight though, as I haven't owned a boat for several years. I completely understand the need for this type of course in the interest of public safety on the water.

when i took the exams the first two time i got 73 and 74 it was so close and had to redo the lessons. Secondly in my opinion i dont think the time for each lesson is necessary.

Good quality platform all around. My only complaint: each slide/screen is timed. You can't click past the screen until the timer is up. This means that if you know the content, you have to wait a minute or more before you can continue. Know that there are, what, 200 screens that need to be clicked through? No short cutting. Lots of downtime waiting for the screen to change. It took me 3.5 hours beginning to end, which could likely have been cut down to 2 hours without the waiting.

It would be nice when you do each quiz> that you could review and see what you got wrong

It took me a while, but that's me. And now I have my P.C.O.C.! I recommend the course. It is a good education for safety on the water.

With the exception of "following" being spelled "fallowing" in the Casting off section, everything else was very good.

We have a sailboat, and most of the course dealt with power boats, probably because most people taking the course own those sorts of boats. The information WAS valuable and presented clearly. I wish that the correct answers to missed quiz questions could be provided, and the times one had to spend on each section before one could move to the next meant that completion of the modules took longer than necessary if one already had a good deal of knowledge.

Loved the audio and videos. Only downside is that if I read the page entirely, I still had to wait for the timer on that lesson to finish. But overall very good to learn this way on-line.

I didn't like how the slides were timed. I watched the videos just because it would take the mandatory time. I could have gotten through I way faster if I had just read the slide and then moved on emediatly after.
