“Took it in one sitting: 4 hrs. start to finish. Good basic Knowledge of boating. There should be a free refresher module a year after taking this course to reinforce the material given.”

“I thought the information and the way it was presented was very helpful. I would have liked to be able to revisit the incorrect answers I had on my quiz and get the correct answer. The same with the exam I would like to be able to review my incorrect answers. But overall I enjoyed the course. Thank you”

“Hello I finished the boat smart course and test and found it quite useful. I did not think it was necessary to have a bikini clad woman as part of the video on safety especially the front photo of her breasts. What purpose does this serve for teaching safety? I did not see a man in a similar outfiit? This is 2017.! Brenda”

“I have little knowledge of boating requirements on the waterways. This course is informative and easy to understand. However, when choosing the answer to a question and it is not correct, it would be great to know what the correct answer is. I recommend taking this course even if you are not the captain.”

“Course was good and provided everything necessary to get the license. My one suggestion would be to review quiz questions that were not answered correctly at the end of each module to let the person who is taking the course know the right answer so they can learn from it and apply it accordingly.”

“Good course. Nice to be able to do it on line. Would have liked to be able to review the quiz parts and know which questions were wrong. Understand why the actual test was not able to be reviewed, but not the quiz questions Overall I am very satisfied with course Thanks Tom”

“Excellent course which I honestly believe should be taken by anyone who boards a boat. The knowledge obtained could (would) help save lives. The only thing I would like included in the course is disclosing what answers were incorrect. Maybe in the follow up email? Awesome course...thanks”

“I am an avid boater. My family and I are very pleased this program is being implemented in Ca. The course was informative after 35 years boating I learned somethings. The testing TOOK TO LONG. The timer clock is ridiculous a 10 year old can read these lessons in half the time. Also when listening, why does the clock make you wait when the audio is done? GREAT PROGRAM. I will recommend it. (Get rid of timer)”

“At first I was in a hurry and the lessons and modules took time. It forced me to slow down and learn rather than skim over and take my chances on the test. It was very repetitive but then when I saw the question, I would remember the answer being said over and over. Good teaching technique.”

“Everything about the course was great. However When I failed one quiz I was rather annoyed I had to sit though an entire module all over again just to retake the 10 question quiz. It of course still bennifited me to re read the entire module over but really it would have been more convenient to only have to re study the sections that pertained to the two questions I got wrong. Also I feel another 10 minutes on the final exam would have been a little less stressful. I finished with 3-4 minutes left and I felt I was answering the questions pretty quickly. Other then those two things the online course and modules where very well written and explained and it was worth the money. On a positive note the customer service was great. I had some questions before taking the final exam and I emailed the customer service center and not even 6 hours later I had a response. Goood job! Great customer service in this day and age is a huge deal! Thanks again BOATsmart Shawn”
