“It's a comprehensive course, but my only comment would be, on the quizzes, it would be nice to know what I got incorrect, so that I didn't carry that mistake all the way through to the final.”

“I had read and did the quiz from the boat book and as well as the online course and found it much easier because of that. There was some information in the inline course that was not in the book so I learned even more..”

“The repetition of important subjects is good , but if I did not have a set of ear phones I would most likely would not have passed. Distraction while doing this sort makes studying difficult for me , always has been. The faded print of the detailed subject matter was also difficult to read , it should be as dark as the headings. I also thought it should be mentioned that there would be a final test on all subjects ( it may in fact may have been stated and I missed it ). Also, I think it to be important that at some point all the questions missed should be displayed with the correct answers ; not just the final test but all the other tests too. The ratings above show average only because I have nothing I have ever done via Internet to measure against.”

“Overall the online process was extremely user friendly. It covered an awful lot of information and the videos made it interesting, interactive and informative. I knew pretty much nothing at all before I started this course, and the awareness that I now have regarding operational, navigational and safety functions is significantly greater. I feel much better prepared for getting out on the water. Thank you! From a technical perspective - here is a little feedback for you: 1. When completing the module tests on my iphone6, the next button is difficult to access as the "share" function covers "next". 2. It can be a little confusing when the "play" function does not work on every screen in every module (but mostly fine). 3. The option to play in YouTube is nice, however I selected YouTube a few times in error because of the location of this functionality. It would be better if it was in a spot that is not near the general navigation spot.”

“Was good! But it doesn't mention the exam is open book. So you don't really think to take notes to look off of. Also the quizzes should tell you what you get wrong. Or else you don't know what to study or look over cause you Have no idea”

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback Olivia! Since your BOATsmart!® Test is open book and unsupervised, we aren't able to identify which questions were answered wrong. This is a Transport Canada regulation to protect the integrity of the online testing.

“I believe some quiz questions might be keyed wrong, as in the wrong answer might have been associated with the question. I also found one or two quizzes that had questions on topics that were covered later in the course.”

“I would like to have the option to go directly to the exam. We purchased the Study GUide and read it so I was prepared to take the exam but instead I had to spend 5 hours going through exactly what was in the Study Guide online.”

“The course through BoatSmart with easy entry into the final examination with Transport Canada was very easy and helpful. All the training is right there and in the end the actual examination was easy with the clarity of the course. I would only like to know the answers I got wrong during the quizzes and final exam so I could improve my overall awareness. As it stands right now, I may make mistakes with navigational or emergency awareness because I wasn't provided those. I am otherwise very satisfied. :)”
