“Content OK but delivery way too slow!!!! I would read and digest and still have 45 seconds on average to sit and wait, several screens were well over a minute. You need the ability to adjust pace - lots of wasted time.”

Thanks for taking time to leave feedback Brad. We understand the test can take a while for some students, but the time requirements and quizzes are required by Transport Canada and NASBLA to ensure students of all reading levels are able to fully understand all content. The timed requirements are the same across all course providers, and we find many students prefer the convenience of completing the course from the comfort of home, rather than in a classroom setting. “This course definitely provided me with all the information I needed to pass the test. The only problem I found with it was that on some of the lessons the time I needed to wait was much longer than I needed to read the page.”

“Comprehensive course, easily passed the exam afterwards. Hate the timer for each lesson. I don’t need 3 minutes to read and absorb 5 sentences. The time needed to complete the course could easily be halved if you could just skip forward once the lesson has been read.”

“Too much focus on ocean waters, etc. which I will never boat on. Perhaps create different licensing options. I only boat on lakes.”

“It was well done, questions were easy to understand and similar to those on test. A couple of times I didn`t remember seeing the answer of a question but I must have missed it in a video. The was a very informative course.”

“After going through each module and you take the small quiz at the end it would be nice to know which ones you got wrong Also in the exam after the exam is done it would be nice to know what you got wrong as well it's a learning tool”

Hi Drew - thanks for the feedback. Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the check and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. As boaters too, we understand the feedback and are working with regulators to try and improve the process within the confines of online testing. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!
