“It was well laid out and easy to follow. The presentation was excellent but other than the safety aspect of the information, the course content does not make anyone a "better boater". I understand that the content is based on what is required by Transport Canada but fail to see why we are required to have a certificate at all. It may, in fact, give some boaters a false sense of security.”

“Issues include, some of the timers are longer than the video in the lesson, so you have to wait even tho the video has completed. If you get les then 80%, you have to redo the whole lesson with timers, and it doesn't tell you what you got wrong. Study guide is definitely helpful for doing the quizzes and test.”

“The course was well designed and very user friendly. Having your training saved on their server allows you to complete the training in sessions that are convienent to the user. The quiz portions could have been a bit more extensive to include MOT type questions but overall an excellent course and well worth the cost.”

“I was happy that I had studied the BoatSmart booklet before using the online version. I was not expecting the online study guide to take 5 hrs. to complete. The chance to review my answers in both the exam, and in the quiz after each of 7 modules, was not allowed. But the outcome was good, I passed with a high% and I did learn so much.”

“It made me happy because now I have my Pleasure Boat Operator's card again. I took the course many years ago with the Coast Guard when it was first introduced. More recently my wallet was stolen and I lost all my ID. I was unable to get a replacement card so had to take the test again. One thing that I didn't like was the choice at the beginning of the course, whether to buy a manual or not. I did buy one but immediately found out I didn't need it since all the information was online. So there's $50 spent for nothing. The course itself took be over five hours to complete, all the studies, the videos and the quizzes. But it only took me about fifteen minutes to complete the actual test. I think the test is suitable for boaters at any level which is good, but for someone like myself who has experience, a lot of the material was redundant. There was a lot of information on health concerns that didn't pertain specifically to boating, like hypothermia and CO2 poisoning. There was very little information on sail boat characteristics which I think should be included because sail boats handle much differently than power boats. I'm a sailor as you might suspect. I scored 94% on the test which was great. I would like to know where my mistakes were because it could be important matters. Nevertheless, the website was super, the downloads were fast and smooth. I had no problems with the program at all. Thanks very much. Mona Anderson”
