“Although not required for me, I took the course in order to get a discounted insurance rate for my boat. The course is user friendly and gives a quiz at the end of each module so you can track your readiness for the final test. Some of the material you need to go through slowly and carefully because it can be confusing if you read through it hurriedly. If you prefer it also has audio which reads verbatim what the printed material says. It was also the least expensive certified course I found. I definitely recommend the course, especially if you are required to take it to legally operate a boat.”

“It was good content but I was continuously finished thoroughly reading sections 40 seconds or more before the timer ended and had to stay on the page which was annoying”

“As a professional course developer I appreciate the chunking of the content into small easily to consume sections. The use of graphics and audio aided my learning greatly. The material was well organized, though could have been shortened some where content overlapped modules. The quizzes were generally very good though I found some answers didn't require mastery of the content. Writing of good quiz questions that are valid and test mastery is harder than most think and it wasn't well done in the course with some answers very obvious. Overall all great material - I would refer to again to refresh myself on various components in addition to spending more time on the water. Well done.”

“it was a longer course than I expected, but I think all the courses are long! I would really liked to know which questions I got wrong, it would help me keep the newly gained knowledge and details straight. I think it should be modified to show this information once the final test is completed. As it stands, I am blissfully unaware that I don't know something about a buoy, or life jacket or something else equally important. Just my thoughts : ) I was pleased to be able to do this course in my home rather than going out, so thanks for offering it!”

“It's very important and required information. I recommend include some techniques for use ropes, knots, and docking different types of boats. The diagram of information and type o letter it's too small and difficult to read.”

“It’s great that you can stop and restart the course from where you left off; however, it’d be better if you knew how much time the course would take. It took me over 3 hours to sit through the modules. I would have appreciated knowing how long each module was going to take me before starting it. I didn’t want to come back to the test later - fearing that I’d not find the time later and/or I’d forget what I’d just learned.”

“Videos are really well done. However, some of the slides do have spelling errors. Biggest complaint I have is that if a video is one minute long, you have to wait sometimes, for a minute and a half before you can move on to the next slide. This is very annoying. Also, there is no feature to go back and see how one did on each quiz; so how can one learn and do better if they don't know what question they got wrong? Anyways, I'm hoping this feedback is helpful for you to make your product even better. Thank you. Allan”

“Would like to have been told what questions I got wrong during quiz after each module. How else do I find out. This is what is done at the Washington state boat training so it is possible”

“Overall a good course to meet the CA boater card requirement. There are some "typos" in the course. For example the audio mentions the sail boat being on port "track" rather than "tack". I noticed a few of these type of glitches, but the content was still understandable. I wish that after the end of module quizzes they would review the ones you missed (giving the correct answer), rather than just a percent. It would help you learn more.”
