“The online course is smart, relevant and even entertaining. No coffee needed. Robust web interface which could handle me clicking on too many buttons at once. Also, excellent customer service ( use chat button on home page ).”

“Wide range of content. It covers a lot of material in breadth, not necessarily in depth. I’ve been boating most of my life and took this course as a refresher and to save $50 in fuel on a houseboat rental at Lake Powell. I would recommend it to others.”

“I thought the course was very informative but I was surprised by some of the questions on the quizzes and exam. For example, it really shouldn't matter if we know who publishes marine charts etc, it is more important to know they are available and boaters should have them on the boat. I was also surprised that there were no questions about towing skiers since that is a common occurrence.”

“ERROR: There's an error on one of the lessons where it is talking about the capacity if the boat (module 5 or 6?) and it says make sure the boat DOES exceed the maximum capacity. SUGGESTION: The videos were good, but a drag to sit through (I get the mandatory timing), but my issue was the longest ones weren't always paired with the most complicated content. Maybe review the stuff people tend to get wrong and extend the videos for those portions (the "angle of return" video was great for visualizing wind vs docking angle!), and shorten the ones for the more common sense stuff.”

“The course content was appropriate and very helpful. The wait times listed in the bottom corner before the next lesson were frustrating at times because once you were finished reading you had to wait, considering the course is lengthy to begin with it became annoying quickly.”

“There were some instances where spelling errors were present. In one review, a question was asked and the content to the question was not covered until three modules later (re: Type A alpha dive flag). The set time per page requirement is frustrating. For faster readers, having to spend that amount of time per lesson is maddening.”
