Thanks for taking the time to leave a review MIchael. Congrats on passing - we'll see you out on the water this summer! :)

The program was good, I actually learned quite a bit but some questions on the final test were not covered. Also, when doing the modal quizzes, you aren't given the correct answers to the ones you get wrong so you dont learn anything and likely carry those wrong answers over to the final. And lastly, the time allowed for each lesson is way too long, I finished reading and then sat there for upto minutes each lesson waiting to move on. What a waste of my time.

The course was informative, although long. It would be nice to be able to review the module quiz results to see the questions that were answered wrong as to not make the same mistakes in the final. Also the videos were very helpful.

Overall very comprehensive and well done. A couple of minor improvement suggestions 1) the description of bifurcation markers at slide 7, module 6 is confusing or possibly in error. A bifurcation marker with green on top means preferred channel should be kept on port side, or turn to the right. 2) the section on carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning confuses CO with CO2 which are different substances

Would like to have seen the questions I got wrong on the practice quiz to see what I had to read again. But I did okay anyway.

Hi Lorraine - thanks for the feedback. Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the check and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. As boaters too, we understand the feedback and are working with regulators to try and improve the process within the confines of online testing. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

Content was well laid out. I liked the option of audio, visuals and reading simultaneously....it leads to better retention of the material, at least for me. I found the Boatsmart questions more challenging than the Transport Canada ones, which was also a good thing in the end.

Repetitive modules, min time thresholds that force you to wait even longer than the duration of the videos, content that is irrelevant to anyone other than someone trying to circumnavigate the globe in international shipping lanes, incomplete coverage of material compared to final exam were all annoying aspects, but the worst part is they don't tell you what you got wrong, so there is no actual mechanism for learning and improvement.
