Very easy to follow, and great experience. Would have loved to know my wrong answers on quiz to know where to improve.

The online dashboard was quite simple to navigate, I liked the fact that there was a % status indicator so you knew how far along I was in the tutorial. Some of the videos I found to be quite "unnecessary" as they stated the obvious but overall it was a breeze preparing for the exam with BoatSmart.

At first I was skeptical of the whole doing the modules and quizzes plus writing an examination. Previous people didn't have to do that... But, I found the modules rather informative and the quizzes enforced the material as well. The exam made you think, just wish there were more real life scenarios (ie you have 3 boats coming towards you what do you do, or someone on the boat gets a fracture or starts bleeding due to a cut what do you do, you are looking to anchor quickly due to a coming storm that is unexpected what do you look for... given scenarios and choices.). Scenarios would be very beneficial and learn a lot from them, never know what can happen out there, anything really from someone falling over, to a simple cut to someone having a heart attack, or someone getting run over by a boat... thus, scenarios would allow one to learn and think things through.

BOATsmart! Was great. It was very convenient being able to stay at home and write my boating exam. The only problem I have with the system was, I think module two should be broken up into smaller sections.

This course was quick and easy to complete. I spent two evenings covering the material and passed my test on the first try.

I thought the course was very interesting but some of the modules dragged on too long. It's a lot of information to be digested & I think the importance should be on emergency situations, water safety & the rules of the waterways.

Hi: My thought is that there should be two levels. One for inland lakes and rivers and the second for Great Lakes and/or attributaries to the ocean or large systems eg St. Lawrence River / Rideau Canal. The process is far too long and serious consideration is given to quit it. Levels or categories of licencing may be a better approach. Also I purchased a prepayment card to save $10.00 and could not use it when I got thur to get started. Thank You . Walter Stack

Good material and well explained. If you are really interested in being better, you would ask how you can improve!

Not quite happy...I find the forced wait during the lessons frustrating. This attempt to control the user doesn't work. Once I have read the section, it is up to me to pass the quiz and final test. Also, the incorrect answers should be shown at the end of the quiz. If I got something wrong, don't you think you should tell me what it is so I can learn? That's the point of the course, after all.

The BOATsmart course was easy to use and the ability to take the course and test online fit in with my sometimes busy schedule. The course materials and questions were well thought out and thorough which gives me a comfort level that others on our waters know what they are doing. Well done!
