Very informative. Everyone should learn this.

There should be a way that you can go back and change a specific answer in a module rather than having to do the whole module over again.

Very informative with ease of instruction. Test itself is tough, as it should be, I was very pleased with the results.

Purchased your boat smart book. Studied, was ready to write exam online. only to find that I would have to restudy online again in order to write exam. Students should be notified in the printed version that this does not qualify to write online exam.

i think every one should take this course. i my self , have saved three people from drowning. ounce while fishing in hidden lake. once i was saved from drowning. once i had to save a young 8 year old from drowning in a canal. i have also been in a storm while boating and fishing. i was running a boat. i weigh 100 pounds . the man with me weighed 385 pounds . the storm came in so fast. rain hail and wind. my motor stalled . the 385 pound man . could say lets row and get me to shore. as the wind came up, i went to row. the wind blew to ward us. my neck some how blow out . i told the man that was with me .my as given out. the 385 pound man, said i don't care about your neck , get me to shore. we made it . but it did not help my neck. so every one should take this course.

I enjoyed the course, but was frustrated because I had purchased the manual at Canadian Tire, studied it, and was unable to take the exam because the course modules must be completed online. I had to re-do the entire course, since the online system tracks your progress and there is no way to bypass it, if you have already studied from the manual. I had to go through all of the material twice before taking the exam. At least I know it very well now. But I would dissuade anyone interested in trying to take their exam to NOT buy the course guide from Canadian Tire (unless you just want to have reference material handy).

It was a good experience, BUT it took to long. I was on my computer from 4:30 pm until I finished at 10:30 pm.

I liked having multiple methods of getting the information. I found the section on buoys difficult to understand at times.

my only complaint is that the timed screens is a bit too much. I can read the screen information then had sit and wait for the timer to run out

I have been operating boats since 1965 and still learned a lot from this course.

BOATsmart was great. I learned a lot more than I expected. I did find some of the timers do bit a bit lengthy because I can read quickly but overall it was great and I easily passed my exam.

l had already bought and studied the book and then there was no option of just going to the exam. l had to go through each section. l didn't think this was necessary. also some of the questions are highly unlikely to be part of the average boaters experiences.

Hi Nathan - We understand that you may find the 3-hour course lengthy in duration (but that usually means you know your stuff - so congrats, Captain!). However, please understand that the course content and 3-hour timers are a Transport Canada & NASBLA requirement and are consistent across all course providers. This is to allow you the convenience of taking the course from the comfort of home. The timer ensures that you get all of the information you need to successfully pass the Test, without having to sit through an 8-hour, classroom course.
