Use to love to shop in Bonmarché, like so many others have been caught out today. Ordered on line, paid through PayPal to add extra security while shopping online, and it gets paid to Bonmarche straight away, so they have definitely got your money and you have paid for your items, went into town to collect order from Bonmarche which was my chosen store, where I collect my clothes from, one item came up too small, asked to change for bigger size, and then get told basically you can not do this as you paid through PayPal, you need to return it, “ok please can I return it” sorry you basically cannot return it here, because you paid through PayPal, you have to take it home and take it to an Evri parcel shop”. Just tried to return it through Evri, now I need to pay £2.99 to return a Bonmarche jumper, because Bonmarche have changed the terms, if you pay through PayPal , you can collect your items from a normal Bonmarche shop, you cannot exchange in shop, etc, so please be very careful how you pay for your items, as something that should be simple has basically cost more money and time delay.

Can't believe you need to pay for returning an Item, its crazy that in these times with the increase in on-line shopping that we have to pay for a return....

Brought 3 pairs of jeans at the beginning of April had to send them back as I needed a bigger size. Hermes came and collected them to returned to the company. I’m still awaiting a refund of £54, when I contacted customers services the member of staff said that PayPal were bouncing the refunds and that a manager was trying to sort out the problem. I contacted PayPal and apparently this isn’t the case the problem is Bonmarche so I have now had to open a dispute to get a refund through PayPal. Won’t be using the online service again with Bonmarche if refunding people is going to be such a problem, such a shame as I always trusted this company. Looking online there are many customers who are also experiencing problems with getting refunds. Very poor and disappointing

As you haven't seen fit to publish my review even though you sent me an email requesting one I thought I would submit one direct to you on here. Your utterly incompetent carrier Hermes lost the item I had ordered with next day premium delivery. No offer was made to redespatch the item and I simply got an email five days later to say the item was lost and I would be refunded. This was extremely annoying and disappointing as the item was a present.

The returns policy is dreadful, do not collect , have to use Hermes , Parcel shop or Post office, I do not have facility to print of label , Bonmarcha have been no help at all now have £70 worth of goods I cannot return . From a 73 year old disabled self isolating . Will never use this company again.

Ordered two tshirts and two trousers . After week they called and said that they don’t have the trousers which I chose. But they will send the T-shirts. Haven’t recived my order in two months. When I call to the office, they say that they can’t do the refund. Very bad experience.

I have been a customer with Bonmarche for a number of years and have always considered them a good company to deal with; that is until my recent returned parcel to them, has been undelivered by the post office. Happy in the knowledge I had a post office proof of posting receipt I rang Bonmarche helplin e enquiring about my refund and the representative there made a note and said she would action the steps necessary to refund my money. In order to put the matter in writing, I wrote to customer service and outline what had taken place, only to be told a different story, that Bonmarche are not like all other companies I have dealt with, inasmuch as they won't refund, until my parcel turns up at their warehouse, leaving me to pick up the tab of £74 for goods I don't have and which I have returned to them and have proof of postage of doing so. I am a 75 year old pensioner who cannot afford to lose almost the equivalent of a week's pension because Bonmarche has a policy of not accepting proof of postage to reimburse me for goods I have sent back. To be honest I am shocked at the way I have been treated. This isn't what loyal customers deserve or expect in my opinion and I am very saddened and disappointed that Bonmarche thinks that this insensitive behaviour is acceptable to their elderly customers. I have a lot of friends who feel the same and are as disgusted as I am.

Worst customer service ever, keep items that don’t belong to them , ignore emails, and make you pay for items you don’t have, don’t go near this company if you don’t want ripped off.

Walsall Store Visited today (25/10/2019) during my lunch break to collect an on line order so was pushed for time. Tried on & kept 3 of the items but wanted to exchange the 4th for another design. Both female assistants (especially the blonde one) on the till were unprofessional and unhelpful saying the exchange could not be done unless I paid a further £3.60 for an item of the same price, which should have had 20% off. They then offered me my 10% bonus off instead but but then said that couldn't be done either. The manager was called and completed the transaction without any delay even though the blonde assistant kept saying you won't be able to do it!. Unprofessional, rude staff. They could do with some customer service training. Manager was the opposite so, thank you to him. He was calm, professional & treated me with respect

Terrible returns policy. Beware if you pay with PayPal you can't return free to store you have to pay to return it by post I shan't be buying from them again

Tried to return online order to store. Won’t refund because I used PayPal. Other stores able to refund a PayPal transaction with no problem. Now I have to pay postage costs to return. Won’t be shopping there again. I wish I had read reviews before buying.

I too have been caught in the trap by paying with my PayPal account. I have found the whole episode very distressing. The customer service person person at Bonmarche head office was very off hand and had a couldn’t care less attitude . Time passes and I am out of pocket just how long does Bonmarche take to generate a refund. I call it shady practice, I could use a stronger description but we are not permitted to print how we feel. Shame on this company, they ask lower down how easy was it to get a refund. I’m still waiting, no tick box for thst

Seems to be an ongoing issue. Bought online using PayPal and was unable to return in store. Not ideal and expensive as now paying postage for return as well as cost of fuel to get to nearest store. Would advise not using PayPal for online Bonmarche purchases.

Do not purchase with PayPal online as If you want to return item they will not accept it in store you have to post it and it can take ages for the whole process to go through before you get your money back.

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought my items online. Sent one item back and had to pay for the postage. Shan't shop online with Bonmarche ever again. No store near me either anymore so lost my custom that's for sure.

Ordered a top in my normal size (which I’ve in before) but this wasn’t least 2 sizes too small! Then to add insult to injury I had to pay to return it!! Not happy at all! Ps: I should say I am not near any of their shops.

The response I have received from this company is abysmal, I had a complaint about a faulty shirt so rang customer complaints who told me to email their complaints department, so I emailed them 3 times with absolutely no response. I then wrote to their CEO again no reply. THINK very carefully before buying from this company.

Bought items online, had to return one item, lost returns slip, so drove from my home to nearest store which is about 10 miles, to be told In store as I didn’t have full invoice that they would need to phone customer service dept, which is closed on a Saturday!! So could only offer a credit note, or wait till Monday, come back and they would phone, or I could phone customer service myself. The item was in original bag with all tags in tact, so would be back on the rack as soon as I left. I had to take a credit note and have no idea when I will be able to use it as can only be used in store. Absolute joke of a company, will definitely never buy from them again

West Bromwich Store Went to the above store for nightclothes for my mother. Great sale. Buy one get one half price. Took two nightiies to till to be told they were not in the sale. Assistant checked the rail and said staff had made a mistake with the sale stickers. Good customer service would have been we will honour our mistake but no it was 10%discount or no sale. If the queue wasn't so long I would have argued the point. I will not shop again due to bad customer service. Maybe head office should speak to the staff to get labels sorted.
