“I have visited the Calumet store in Edinburgh on several occasions in the past two years and each time I have been welcomed and treated as a valued customer by all of the staff. Due to the excellent service received and the knowledgeable and helpful staff who have served us, my wife and I have made a number of purchases i , two of them for relatively high cost items. In addition, I have attended two extremely helpful photographycourses in the Edinburgh store. I have been fortunate to have received especially good service from John Douglas on several occasions but the whole Calumet Edinburgh staff team is clearly a very strong and effective one and, because of that, it will continue to be my preferred photographic store.”

“Calumet Photographic in Edinburgh probably provided the worst purchasing experience I have ever had. No updates when promised, item was not delivered on delivery date given at purchase time. Constantly given wrong information, no return calls unless I chased this up with the store. Initially the delivery date was before Christmas but after being assured that this would happen I was informed that my lens would not be delivered until after the New Year. Finally the order was cancelled. This was frustrating as the lens was required for a trip abroad just after the New Year. I will never use Calumet Photographic again and will not recommend them to anyone.”

“Quick response to queries; very fast shipping (even standard shipping). Best prices. Would have been helpful to know shipping was "signed-for courier" - as hadnt expected, and hadnt arranged for someone to be in that day. But otherwise would consider that a bonus for "standard shipping", just the way it worked out.”

“I rang up the Belfast shop looking for a Bowens Sync lead and they were able to sort me out in minutes and also the same the week before when looking for a paper green screen.. Very good to deal with and will be back again.”

“I phoned on Friday, ordered a part and was told it would be in store on Tuesday and I would get a call when I could collect it. I didn't get a call so called the store on Wednesday and was told it hadn't been ordered. I said I had a client coming the next day and needed it for a particular shot. I was told it would be couriered to me before nine am. It didn't arrive so at 9.30am I wrote an email of complaint. I was contacted saying it would be ordered then and couriered to me by nine the next day (a day too late!). I was also told I would be called to arrange a refund. I haven't been called. I use Calumet because they work with pros and understand schedules. I am now looking for an alternate su”

“Decided to window shop at Calumet in Edinburgh & was courteously helped by Ronnie who was easy going and helpful, despite being told that we were in only to browse. But it turns out Ronnie's charm was stronger than we had anticipated so ended up purchasing a 2nd hand Canon body. Having lived in the USA for a decade (Las Vegas, Houston, Atlanta) I am used to shelves groaning under the weight of gear so didn't expect much on sale in Edinburgh since our capital city is tiny by global standards. But I was surprised at the quantity on display. No reason not to go back then.”

“I'd been trawling the web for a prime portrait and found Calumet. Photographic. I called for advice and stock info. Their representative was professionally friendly impressed me with his useful product knowledge. I reserved the lens and collected from their impressive Glasgow store. The face to face experience was excellent. I was glad to hear more about other offers and solutions I hadn't thought about. I'd forgotten how good it is to shake hands over the counter and leave with a smile on my face. You don't get that when 'adding to cart'. I got a good deal more than just a good price. I look forward to spending more time and money with Calumet Photographic real soon. Thanks guys.”

“Hi, My first visit to your Manchester store was a great experience for me. I was treated with respect by staff who showed a good knowledge of the subject. I was not rushed to make a decision but allowed to take my time and draw my own conclusion on which camera to purchase.. Thank you Calumet.”

“The staff in Edinburgh's calumet are always very helpful...always. My only gripe with Calumet is their site... it's terrible! Model your site on Wex and I'm sure you'll see increased online sales. In fact, give me a call and I'll consult. John Need”

“Hi, if I'm honest, the store felt a bit like a car boot / jumble sale. I do feel that the store should have a more 'professional' feel to it. The new queuing system could have been much better, when I visited a gentleman was deciding whether to buy and camera or not and stood there playing with it for at least 40 minutes, I probably stood waiting for twenty minutes watching him hum and haw, it was very frustrating. May I suggest that there is a fast-track till for those who know exactly what they want? The staff were very helpful once you had their attention but there were a few staff that were desperately trying to avoid making eye contact with me by keeping themselves busy and not helping. I will be back as I have been a loyal customer for many, many years, but would like to see it improve.”
