I recently attended the Open Day at your Birmingham Store. On the day itself I found all of the staff to be most helpful and friendly. The free sensor cleaning was carried out in an efficient manner and there was even free coffee whilst waiting. To my surprise I received an email about a week later informing me that I had won the draw for a Canon 700D kit. The assistant who I dealt with was able to use my prize as part payment for the model which I had been looking at since its launch. Namely the Canon 70D. The whole process { including using my existing model as part of the purchase } was conducted in a smooth manner. From John Hill {an appreciative customer}.

excellent and prompt service, very helpful , Today I returned to Calumet Manchester for the cleaning of the censor on my Nikon D3 and it was carried out straight away. Friendly and very professional staff. I would highly recommend them for any photo needs, Roland

I have been very disappointed with the level of service from Calumet after I ordered a Genesis GF-400 Kit. I called to check the kit was in stock which it was then I placed the order online. I was then told several days later that the kit was out of stock. Every time I called to check when it would be back in stock I was told it would be 2 to 3 days. It is now 4 weeks later and I still haven't received the full kit and I don't have a genuine forecast as to when I will get it.

I found the staff very well informed and helpful. I wanted to buy a lens and the advice given confirmed my initial choice. But I also wished to explore buying a new interchangeable lens smaller system than my Canon and the assistant was particularly helpful in identifying what would be the most relevant options for me. I will be back! Thank you.

This is the first time I have used calumet.I ordered the canon 85 1.2 when it arrived it had a scuff on lens and a slight scratch.i phoned customer services and got a replacement within the week.i had to contact customer services to find out I was getting a replacement they Didn't contact me which I didnt find helpful.Also on both occasions the boxes I recieved had been opened prior to me receiving them which did not give me confidence ..overall I am happy with the second lens but I did not enjoy the process which I had to go through nor having to wait a extra 5 days for

The product was as expected, a Nikon 7100 to back up my Nikon D800. As with previous purchases the service was excellent. Item ordered over the phone and collected at stare in Birmingham. Staff very helpful as ever.

I ordered an item "On back order" at the start of March and my payment was taken immediately. From then on I received no communication indicating when i could expect to receive my product. Every month or so I called and was told that there was no news. After waiting 4 months I gave up and ordered something else. The guy who took my call said I would be offered a discount for waiting so long but then said he could not offer a discount on the replacement item. Very poor service.

I ordered a pair of lights on 6th June, phoned a week later to ask when they would b in stock. Told they would be in the following week. Visited the shop (Drummond St) the following week and enquired as to the delivery time, told the week after that. Phoned up yesterday and told they would not be in until the beginning of August. Disappointed that I've been given false information twice, disappointed I have had to enquire each time as to where the lights are and disappointed most of all that the lights will be with me two months after I ordered them. Please let me know what is being/will be done about this.

Very personal experience with knowledgable and attentive staff. I traveled from Liverpool to Manchester twice as Calumet is better than any photographic stores we have locally.

Due to Calumet's design fault on their battery design for the Canon Mark11 the staff were very accommodating by replacing the battery straight away. I do have one complaint which is more to do with the ethos of the firm & that is when I bought a Canon 5d mark111 the camera was clearly a faulty model. Firstly the camera had to be returned to Canon due to the colour temperature going awol. On top of this I mentioned that the camera was not synching properly with the flash. Firstly Calumet should have informed me from the outset that some mark 111's have encountered such problems & most importantly should have offered to replace this camera under the sale of goods act. The long & short of it is that I do feel I was misled or not informed of my consumer rights. So I have now sent the camera for a diagnostics if it transpires that the camera does indeed have a fault I shall be returning it & request an automatic replacement. Since I have been a loyal customer plus have spent thousands of pounds I think tho its the least I should expect. thank you Kind wishes Wilde Fry

I bought a set of Genisis 500w studio lights from you, first of all when I purchased these I didn't realise they were not a kit but built up of bits and pieces chucked together. The other day I looked up your website for spares for these and you don't show anything online for them e,g, a spare 500w flash tube. Yes you have 300/400 w tubes but no 500w ones. What's the point of me buying something like this from you and cannot get spare parts ? I have found this problem a few times regarding your website when looking for "accessories" either nothing appears or some obscure item seems to be attached e,g looking at a camera Olmpus Pen 5 and the accessories include a Bellingham bag !!! I thought Culumet is "Where the professionals go" Surely a "professional" knows what they are talking about and doesn't want a camera bag that has just been chucked on to the website to encourage some poor person to buy it who doesn't really know what they are talking about, surely it would be better if a lens or filter etc showed up in the accessories instead of things that don't really suit ! Only one person at this company seems to have any knowledge of Canon Printers. Yes they delivered promptly but at branch level were unable to supply the expected level of sales information. The Canon Pro 10 can print CD's but the software to do this didn't load on install. Apparently it can be downloaded from the Canon website but only if you know where to look. I had to find a older copy from a previous Pixma model. Pity, an excellent product aimed at professionals but without the basic software package you would expect nor adequate professional support.

I would never recommend this shop. I have ordered an item and I was informed that it will take no longer than 2 weeks to collect it. After 2 weeks without any information after my call to them I was informed that it will take another 2 weeks. So 1 month of waiting for a camera. Very unprofessional. Now I am awaiting for a refund. I hope it would not take a month! Never again!

I do use Calumet for the brilliant ad hoc availability of professional equipment. I prefer to go into a shop and buy the item as opposed to waiting until the post arrives. On the negative side, I have walked out on several occasions and bought online as the time to be served is just too long. The new queueing system makes the experience only worse. I would like a better customer service experience especially while buying items in their thousands of pounds. This review is for the Drummond Street branch as this is the only one I use.
