“Till today haven't received my invoice which I did expect to be sent with my parcel, there was no confirmation of dispatch by email so phoned Customer Service to get this confirmation like you normally get by email every time when I buy online. Price match hasn't been respected in the first place even same camera was cheaper on Currys's site as person who I had chat with could not take a decision and supposed to be contacted with his manager after Bank Holiday but suddenly was contacted same day when product was out of stock and refused to get money back with suggestion as there was their site error which was not true as I called Currys and there was not aware of any errors on their site, next day the camera was back in stock with the price which I claimed and Manager finally respected my claim. After my order was confirmed I was asked to provide proof of my ID and utility bill (first time in my life happened to me and I'm online shopping very often) and after I scanned requested docs you couldn't find me in your system under this address which I assumed means your system is out of date as I'm home-owner for over 4 years.”

“I visited the store to get a lighting stand and lighting clamp. I did not know exactly which designs would fill my requirements. With help from Angus he showed me a stand that I did not know was even available in the UK and exactly the type of clamp that I was hoping to get. I worthwhile visit, as always”

“I was disappointed with my shopping experience at Calumet. The assistant did what he had to after I explained what I wanted. But although he suggested the external CD storage that he thought I needed it wasn't till I got home that I realised my laptop doesn't have a CD writer and so my purchase was inappropriate. Perhaps I will go back for a refund. I wanted to be wowed and offered positive advice but all I got was a transaction with minimum conversation and the underwhelming feeling that I hadn't bought what I had really wanted. Will I go back? Undoubtedly because it is a nice shop with loads of tempting camera stuff. But it feels like I have to make the running in explaining what I want. And they could have sold me a camera if they had tried a little harder!”

“I've been buying camera gear from Calumet for some years now and it's a place I'll go back to. One good thing about them is that they are very helpful both on the phone and in the shop, when I was looking for a new bag, they pulled a 400/2.8 out of the rental section to make sure it was a good fit in the bag of my choice. Then when I bought a camera, the next day they added a further discount and added that discount to my order. Calumet are media savvy, they respond to tweets and engage with photographers. This is the way camera photography stores should be run. For me, they score top marks.”

“I spoke with one of your representatives on the "chat" function on the website, and they really helped me to decide what I needed. I ordered at 4.30pm that day and the items arrived the very next day. My only annoyance was that the two items I ordered arrived at two different times throughout the day - although I have a feeling this might have been an error by the courier. All in all, my experience was very good.”

“Everyone was very pleasant, they knew their stuff, and were not pushy. All good there. However, when I spend £2.5k on a camera, I love it if the shop throws something in as a thank you; a memory card, a dust kit, a peripheral, something like that. Would still come back though.”

“I've recently purses online a set of studio strobes. It was my first experience with the guys from Calumet Photographic and it was a good one. Their customer service was very good in helping me to decide which set of strobes will be the best for me and my studio. The order got delivered in time and in good condition. So over all I was very satisfied ;)”

“This turned out to be a damaged item. I did email Calumet about it but got no response. Fortunately, I managed to repair the damage which took a bit of time and money (another £60 to £70) and the lens is now operational. Surprises me that Calumet do not check their items properly or bother to reply to mails; no doubt they would say I must have dropped the lens or something and never got an email from me. So no stars for a photographic retailer I have used without problems in the past.”
