“We will never again buy a used car without a CARFAX report!! We bought a used pickup truck and got a report from another company instead of CARFAX. At one year plus a few days, with only 5,000 miles logged by us, the transmission broke down. Dealer would not make any allowance on repairing or replacing the transmission. I decided to run a CARFAX report on the vehicle and found out the truck had been in for transmission repairs in the beginning of October 2012 and went back to the dealer on October 25, 2012, was resold on December 1, 2012 and then went in for transmission repair again in the beginning of January, 2013, and went back to the dealer on January 10, 2013. Dealer had truck until April 1, 2013 when we purchased the vehicle! They had given us a report from another auto report company which only stated that it had no accident or insurance claims!! If we had been given the CARFAX report which had over 30 entries, we never would have purchased it!! With the CARFAX report in hand we confronted the dealer and he agreed to give us one half off the repair...thanks to CARFAX !!”

“I was helping my daughter find her first car. She found a 1992 Cadillac Coupe Deville in excellent condition. We were given a long story on the history of the car and began to question the actual condition. I suggested to her that we use Car Fax. We discovered she found a cream puff. The car had 69,000 original miles, my daughter is the third owner and it was not registered for 8 yrs. She has her dream car.”

“I was looking at buying a car off Ebay. The car was actually available to look at locally. I went to look at the car and the salesman was telling me that it was only a one owner vehicle and had always been in our state. When I pulled the Carfax, I found out there had been at least 4 owners and the car had been through 4 different states. It also showed no service records for 18 months. I went ahead and passed on the car.”

“CARFAX made it possible to compare cars on another level. Not just using car reviews, and Blue book values, but to also realistically judge the cars worth by how many owners, if it was in an accident, if the car is registered, etc. if anyone is looking to buy a used/previously owned vehicle, it pays to do your homework. And CARFAX made it my decision to settle on purchasing a car a lot easier. Mahalo CARFAX!”

“I recently went through a search of used cars in our area to find a solid first car for my 16 year old son. CarFax didn't help me find a car as much as it helped me weed out the bad cars and things people were hiding in their ads and under the hood. The fee to run multiple CarFax reports was worth every penny. I highly recommend this service for anyone shopping for used cars.”

“We first found the Car at the used car dealership. This car was for our son. We wanted him to learn the proper way to shop for a car. We told him the first thing to ask for on any car is ask for the Carfax. As we have learned to do in the past. This would be the deciding factor and not just the looks of the car. So when we read the carfax we found that the vehicle he was looking at had been owned by a corporation and that all the maintenance on the car had been taken care of and the Miles on the car were mostly highway miles. We immediately purchased this car because of the excellent history that we were able to learn if it hadn't been for carfax. Don't ever purchase a car less you first check Carfax!”

“I almost bought a vehicle that read 95,000 miles on the odometer, I checked it on carfax turns out this vehicle had over 200,000 miles on it. Please make sure you know what you are buying a lot of scams out there.”

“I saw a car in Craiglist looked great drove good showed 100,397 on meter. Thanks to Carfax it had 299,000 miles and it was turned back. THANKS CARFAX!!!! Jerry”

“One of my personal cars broke down so that ment it was time for a new to me type of car was searching for a while maybe 2 months prices on every make were ridiculous same car range from 7-15,000 picked acouple and went to look at them bare eyes no car fax and noticed a few things right away backed away and decided to use car fax it isn't my first time gettig or using it but yea found acouple and saw some had bad mileage and others were salvaged for those prices and then found one good price fair mileage an exceller condition with 1 owner maintenica records and all and pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier”

“Oh my goodness! We are looking for a 1st car for our daughter. Well we thought this volvo was a good deal. Well the young man said it had been in his family since it was made, well he then told me he hadn't pulled a carfax in a while. Now, why would you pull a carfax on a car that has been in your family since it was made. He sent me the vin and it was partial, but thanks to carfax it helped me figure out correct numbers. Well the car had 6 owners and it was from my home state. I nicely texted him and said no thank you! I'm sure to this day he's tryin to figure out why. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Sebrena”

“I used Carfax to verify the ownership and mileage of a 2001 Honda Civic advertised on Craigs list in Sacramento. The Carfax indicated that the mileage was actually about 40,000 more than the car odometer which had been rolled back. Also the seller had not registered the car in his name and had been driving it for about a year without current registration and insurance. We did not buy this car thanks to Carfax. MAA”

“I had been looking at cars on Craigslist and was getting ready to buy a car that had low mileage and good price. When I decided to get the carfax first and it was a good thing I did because it had 2 owner and two recalls. The ower claimed she brought it new but according to the carfax she only had it 4 months. So I checked 4 others cars one was salvaged, one was a few accidents, and the one I purchased was great only 2 owners. I also signed up for the guarantee from carfax. I even checked my old car I was getting rid of just for fun. Carfax has saved me from making a bad investment. Thank you carfax.”

“I found a car online. The seller (private party) was claiming to be original owner and that mileage was under 100K, and there was no accidents. I quickly carfaxed the car, and found the last reported mileage was 261K, the car was originally a rental vehicle then had thres owners, Also there were two reported accidents, and title actually was salvage! I think carfax really saved me from buying a junk.”
