“I had been looking at cars on Craigslist and was getting ready to buy a car that had low mileage and good price. When I decided to get the carfax first and it was a good thing I did because it had 2 owner and two recalls. The ower claimed she brought it new but according to the carfax she only had it 4 months. So I checked 4 others cars one was salvaged, one was a few accidents, and the one I purchased was great only 2 owners. I also signed up for the guarantee from carfax. I even checked my old car I was getting rid of just for fun. Carfax has saved me from making a bad investment. Thank you carfax.”

“I found a car online. The seller (private party) was claiming to be original owner and that mileage was under 100K, and there was no accidents. I quickly carfaxed the car, and found the last reported mileage was 261K, the car was originally a rental vehicle then had thres owners, Also there were two reported accidents, and title actually was salvage! I think carfax really saved me from buying a junk.”

“I just brought a Nissan Murano SL 2009. I had looked for other vehicles as well much good looking and offered good deals, but the only thing I could trust was the car fax. The Car Fax gave such a detailed report like Additional History, Detail History which showed how many owners owned this car in the past, there maintenance records, there accidents details etc. I had no mechanical background and didn't know what to look for in a car while inspecting, I am glad Car Fax provided the guidelines “Smart Buyers Checklist”, it made my life easy. It also gave a Price Calculator; it helped me a lot in negotiation of the price of the vehicle.”

“Carfax very helpful but would like more vin searches. After all many cars that anyone would be looking at are on a lot or unregistered at someone's home. Had to resub scribe to get more cons available. But in the end found my mustang!”

“Was considering buying a car that looked ok on the surface. Seller did not mention any major problems with the car that 'he knew about' and was reluctant to give the license plate or VIN. When saw the car I noticed the lic plate and decided to check the carfax. The report showed me that it was flood damaged. Saved me a lot of time and effort.”

“I relocated to the US recently for work. Trying to fast track set-up from scratch -- getting a local identity, bank account, social security, driver’s license, residence etc were a cake walk. The major hurdle was finding the right, trust worthy car at the right price from the open market given that nobody was giving me a loan (since i had no credit history). With limited budget and a keen eye for research i evaluated a number of cars. My trusted partner in this journey was my Car Fax account that i purchased for about $55 enabling me to view unlimited number of CarFax reports by just having the license plate number. $55 was not a small amount at that point, but today i feel that to be one of the best investment i have made. “I was faced May 2014 with a write-off for my Volvo S80 4 door sedan because a young lady drove into my trunk at 55 mph on the Trans Canada Hwy.. I know very little about cars, except keeping them maintained. I do not like spending money and a car to me is a huge waste of money, but a necessity! I like a luxury car: leather upholstery, power door locks, air conditioning, good stereo, sound system, good handling, safety, enough power to pass in traffic, etc. My time is valuable and I dreaded looking for a new car to replace my Volvo. Anyway a neighbour told me about a older Mercedes I should look at and the first thought after seeing the car was go online with car fax to check it had no accidents. Carfax even supplied me past service history over 12 years ago for the car, which helped me make a decision to buy. I was impressed with Car fax data. “Well, carfax helped me to stay away from the vehicle in my story. I saw a vehicle an individual was selling, on the side if the road. They always have something out there for sale, so I thought I would stop. It had it's share of wear, but I wasn't worried, as it was gonna be something I expected to get possibly more dings, from the use I had planned. The price was negotiable, a little high for blue book value, but I wasn't worried. So I decided to do my research on it. Did a 1 time car fax report, it showed that it was in a wreck a couple months prior, and that it was 'totaled', and now had a salvage title. The current owner/seller tried telling me there was no issue, that it had a clean title, and even tried selling it to me for over the KBB value, if it wasn't salvaged. The report told me the value was basically negative what they were asking. Well needless to say, the seller ended our conversation on the phone very soon after I mentioned that I did do my research, and found out that they were frauds. Thanks CARFAX.”

“Ive been looking for a Mazda 3 hatchback. I found 2008 That was beautiful black car but to good to be true so I run a CARFAX turns out the car was totaled it doesn't have the correct knowledge mileage and seems to be an issue with the title of the vehicle. I was so glad I ran the CARFAX report on this car. Yeah you could say that this save me a huge headache too think that I was going to purchase a vehicle that looks amazing but was obviously riddled with problems. Thank you CARFAX.”

“If i had not used carfax i would have purchased a car with previous accidents. Fortunately i purchased a carfax bundle reviewed accident history, actual miles on the car, maintenance and repairs over the vehicle. However, though the buldle is useful i felt it is pretty expensive”
