“I have owned two of three of these vehicles since we bought them new so I already knew their history. Just wanted to see the carfax report. I thought the report would include at least major mechanical issues, but it did not. If I was buying another car I don't think I could depend on Carfax's history report covering all the issues. And, on the third car it reported that the speedometer wasn't right and it was all in red, stating a violation. It was only off by a few hundred miles which was an obvious oversight on the part of the technician that tried doing the last vehicle inspection report. Maybe he looked at it wrong or wrote it down wrong or something. I would have appreciated them telling me how to get this corrected. I was a bit disappointed. If I had not already known their history, I probably would have been satisfied with it. ( :”

“I needed a more comfortable vehicle as my wife has been under going chemo treatments since January of this year. I have always trusted Carfax for reliable information about vehicle histories. After some lengthy research, I decided that I wanted a late model Honda Pilot. I found exactly what I wanted and with the Carfax to back me up I purchased the vehicle. It's been a couple of months now and I've had NO issues with the Honda and I really love it! So does my wife. It makes those long trips for chemo so much more bearable and comfortable. Thanks Carfax for making vehicle histories no mystery!”

“I went to buy a corolla that sounded good on the ad. In person the car seemed great, drove well, no noises, new tires. Upon inspection of the carfax, the guy was telling the truth about the car and how it ended up from Kansas to NY. I bought the car and it's been great ever since.”

“I was interested in purchasing a particular car from a used car dealership. Not ever having used Carfax, it gave me all of the information that I needed regarding what the car had been used for, any unnecessary things that were keeping me from making the final purchase not knowing just from looking at the car from the outside. It explained it in a way that I would understand if there were any prior accidents, flood damage and things that would end up costing me a fortune to have repaired. I would whole heartedly recommend Carfax to anyone who is considering purchasing a used car.”

“Wouldn't buy a used car without it. Was just able to locate an older, well cared for, low mileage vehicle for my grandson for $1000. Couldn't have done it without car fax.”

“A very quick and efficient way to find out if the car has a clean title, mileage accuracy, any wrecks and hopefully the major service items that have been done to the car. Also all of the owners and where they lived. This is important when you want to make sure the car was not from a flood area, rust belt area or in a high humidity area that may shorten the life of the car. I also look for the least amount of owners, generally the fewer the more likely the car was a good one and taken car of. So this makes for a really fast and easy way to sort out the bad ones from the good ones before spending the time to go look at a car before purchasing.”

“I was in the market for a Nissan Altima, but was fearful to buy from a private seller. I paid for a Carfax report for the piece of mind, and it showed the vehicle had no accidents or reported issues. I bought the vehicle and love it. Thanks Carfax!”

“While we were changing out 2 cars and each time before we bought a car that we thought we wanted to purchase, we checked the carfax. It saved us on 3 occasions. Craigslist said that 2 of the cars had clean titles. Just before purchasing them we pulled the carfax to find they were actually salvage titles. Another car we almost purchased had 79k miles. Just before we purchased, we pulled the carfax and found out it had last been repaired with 189k miles, so we knew the miles had been rolled back. Carfax truly saved us and gave us peace of mind when we did make sound purchases and the cars have been great!”

“went to buy a car and carfax report came up car was in an accident a police report was made ALL NOT TRUE....so they wouldn't use car for trade in. had to pay to get it cleared up. WRONG just wrong. untrue and unfair at my cost. do not believe in carfax SHARE THAT.”

“I always saw the ads for "CarFax" and figured they were a reputable business. Recently my eye caught a particular 4-WD vehicle in a neighbors drive-way, with the usual placard attesting to the "Yr., Mileage., and in general, "Hype-to-set-the-hook". I wrote down the Vin# and said "Time to utilize CAR-FAX!" Lo' and behold...the information supplied by CAR-FAX not only confirmed the "B.S." being presented by this seller, but it also showed that the seller was trying to pass off a 1989 model, as a 1997!!!!! Imagine that! So, Thanks Car-fax my paltry investment with you saved me Beaucoup $ and time not wasted." Mark D. Schevling”
