I was all set to buy this car from a private seller. Came home and my daughter brought the carfax online while I was cooking our dinner. Thank God and CARFAX she did because we found out it was listed as a LEMON!!! The car I did end up choosing had a minor accident listed on the carfax so I was educated enough to get an EXTENDED warranty on it. I will never buy a car without the carfax! Ever!

I started using carfax when I was referred by a coworker. At first I thought "what could possibly be wrong with a car. People are just trying to sell them". Boy was I wrong! Over a period of two months, I purchased the 5vin number check. The first five vehicles I found were a bust! Salvaged titles, failed emmisioms, rolled back odometer, liens, loans you name it! I ended up purchasing unlimited reports. Before I spent my time driving to the vehicle, I would run te car fax. 90% of the time when I asked for vin or license plate numbers, they would stop replying to my calls. I checked out my family's cars and found out my sisters car was in a accident that a dealer didn't report!!! I could not believe the amount if scammers there were. Ultimately it saved me days of driving and the probability of purchasing a garbage vehicle. I finally found the car I wanted. It was a 2005 toyota corolla. Carfax said nothing but great things about the car. I went through with the purchase and could never be happier! Even if you're buying from a dealer, run a carfax!!!! The last thing you want is a 5 year headache that could have been avoided for 10 dollars.

As a first time user I was very happy and suprised to learn of the extra benefits of Carfax. Not only was I given maitnenace history but also many other items of interest. I learned that due to the mainteance of this vehicle I could add $1,000.00 to the blue book value. I purchased this car and am very happy with it , and the deal I received. Thank you Carfax Dale Padfield

Over the past 16 months we have purchased 4 used cars as new cars are just a bit to expensive these days. For each car we considered we use the Carfax system to obtain the vitals and history of the cars we considered to purchase. What we learned from the reports in invaluable in both making informed data driven decison and providing the confidence in historical records that weighs a great deal in making a car or truck purchase. Finding vehicles that have service record reports is priceless, compared to a seller suggesting maintance has been performed but does not have any records of proof. CARFAX tells the story and provides that one addtional reference data point needed to make a solid decision. In most cases we ran the reports and looked at the cars, we knew more history then the owner. THAT WORKS thanks

We used CARFAX when we were looking to buy a used van for our expanding family! We ran a couple of VINs and found the perfect match in under 5 min!

My husband has been looking for a classic car, aka Mustang, for a long while. He found one in our local Sunday paper that sounded too good to be true. The owner was not asking much above blue book value, and we were a little cautious. He said the car was clear, but being a bit untrustful, I decided to get a Carfax report. It was so very easy from my laptop, and as luck would have it, the car was clear of any problems, and we purchased it that weekend. It is just so great to have the backup of a report to put one's mind at ease, especially when purchasing something that is not inexpensive! I would recommend the security of a Carfax report to anyone interested in a used vehicle.

My wife was interested in getting a Jeep Wrangler as a second vehicle. So, I started shopping around and found a nice 2000 with low mileage. I pulled a Carfax report on it, everything looked good, and we bought the Jeep the next day. She absolutely loves it and so do I. "Happy wife, happy life!" Thanks, Scott

thought I was getting unlimited Carfax Reports for the more expensive fee. I apparently didn't read the fine print.I am a widow and have promised my 3 granddaughters that I would buy each of them a good used car. I depend on Carfax to help me in finding good dependable cars for them since I don't have a man to check them out. I discovered that I only get 5 real carfax and unlimited checks with their "plates" most dealers remove the "plates" plus cars get new plates when they come from a different state or get vanity plates. Why dont you just give unlimited checks for the fee and be done with it. VERY disapointed.

I have literally looked at hundreds of cars over a period of over seven weeks. when I found one that looked like it was the car I was looking for, I would run a CARFAX report to verify the history and maintenance records of the car. It was through CARFAX that I was able to determine that the car I was looking for was accident-free, that the odometer had not been tampered with, and most important to me was that the car was serviced by the auto manufacturer's dealership, thereby eliminating any question as to the cars' reliability and value. Without CARFAX, it is simply a guessing game, and when you are spending thousands of dollars, you need facts, not guesses. I would never buy a car without CARFAX.

Since we were looking for a used car for my daughter in a low price range, we figured there was a high chance of getting a lot of junk out there. I figured the one month fee for unlimited checks would be worth the price and it was. There were at least 3 cars we would have purchased if it were not for the fact that Carfax revealed issues. One car, which seemed it was a very good price for the mileage, revealed that it was in 2 major accidents, one deploying the airbags. Since I wasn't concerned with accidents if they were repaired correctly, I went ahead and viewed this car. Knowing that there were accidents involving the front and another one that involved the rear (Carfax revealed this information), I looked very closely at the front and the rear. Both areas were NOT repaired and my extra discretion also revealed that the entire car was repainted (badly at that). The dealer could not verify nor guarantee that the airbags were repaired correctly so we passed on this vehicle. A second car revealed a rebuilt title, a salvage from a flood upon further investigation. We passed on this as well. We actually found a couple of more cars that we would have purchased that also had salvaged titles and Carfax saved us from these purchases. The car we finally decided upon was a one owner but dealer auctioned vehicle. There were no accidents and Carfax even showed a pretty good service history, which may not have even been complete, but the frequency of the previous owner servicing showed a caring owner. So far, the car we purchased has been perfect and we got it at a very good price (Carfax gave us a pretty good guide suggesting price deviations so it helped me negotiate a fair price). Considering the risk and amount of a used car purchase, $50 bucks for some Carfax research went a long way.

My car fax was altered by someone in the process of the trade. It stated that the air bags were deployed when someone hit the rear number of my vehicle going less than 5 MPH. The police report plainly stated that no air bags were deployed. I for one will never trust a car fax again. The police report was brought to the attention of the dealer.

I have been searching for a used truck for awhile and it has been difficult to locate the right truck with the mileage, condition, and price within my budget. I finally came across an older truck but with very low mileage so I was a bit skeptical. I went ahead and made an appointment to look at the truck and take for a test drive. It was in great condition but just to be on the safe side, I ran Carfax right on the spot and came back with clean, trustworthy results and with Carfax's buy back guarantee against odometer tampering, I was confident in making an offer and drove the truck home. Thanks Carfax.

Carfax helped me to find the right Subaru, the 97' Impreza I picked out is just what I was looking for. With it being an older car it's important to know it's history. It came back clean and now I'm the proud owner of a very nice Subaru Impreza. Thanks Carfax for all the help!

Although I have not purchased my Xterra yet, CarFax has been a life saver in preventing me from buying some lemons and schlepp-cars out there!! I already busted a couple of people for Odometer rollbacks - one advertised for 68K miles, but CarFax proved it to be 238K miles!! I highly recommend it for folks who are shopping for a used car. Be a smart consumer and use this as one of your best tools in your car shopping toolkit!!! Now gimme dat Fox! :)

I am glad I got car fax. I was looking for a collector car for ever and all had high miles or other problem. I did finally find one in excellent condition with very low miles. It seemed untrue to find one in this condition with very low miles. I didn't believe it till I ran the car fax which was actually accurate. It was a good investment to get car fax report. Thanks

I was planning on buying a car from an individual that claimed he'd bought it with a rebuilt title and had no idea why it was rebuilt. After my dad advised me to use CARFAX before buying i put the buyer on hold and checked it out. Ends up he'd been lying and had bought the car with a salvage title due to flooding! Then got a rebuilt title along the way. I'm so grateful to my dad and to CARFAX for saving me from being the next owner of a flooded car! I just bought a different Civic and love it! Of course, i used CARFAX first! Keep up the good work!
