You must give information about car accidents. Dealers use no information about car accidents other then it happened to pay nothing for a trade in. Your company is unfair and a joke. I have written to my elected state and federal policy makers to stop your incomplete and misleading information. If you state that a car was in an accident your must provide information about what that accident was about, and not let dealers decrease the value of a car without the complete information. You must not be allowed to to be a spokesmen for dealers to decrease the car value without any information.

I purchased a preowned BMW M5 earlier this year, which apparently had some bodywork done to it due to previous minor body damage. I pulled both, carfax & autocheck reports but none of them had any incident reported. Regardless of the history reports, I did buy the vehicle & found out the fact that only if an incident is reported to police, insurance, agency or dmv, it will show on the history reports. Otherwise there's no guarantee that what you're getting has 100% history events reported.

Careat Emptor or Buyer Beware. No where is this more true than when buying a used car. Many used car dealers advertise posing as private sellers. Car Fax exposed them. Many lie about condition and many lie about mileage. Car Fax exposes the mileage and will report any history of damage. Car Fax is an invaluable tool in separating the facts about the vehicle from the fantasies of some sellers. It is a huge red flag when people will not share the VIN. !00% of the time, the seller is then trying to hide something. Protect your money when buying any used car. Use CAR FAX! Ask questions of the seller and then check their response against the facts as reported by car fax. Any lies is a deal buster. Request photos of the instrument cluster with the engine running to check for idiot lights.

I love it, always wondered about my car after I bought it. CARFAX put my mind at ease. Simple and easy to understand, I feel so much better. Next time I will make sure to ask before I buy.

I used carfax to sell my own car that I was trading to the dealer. I could point out my consistent car service and oil changes. I could explain a rear end collision to my car and best yet carfax recommended my car be sold $1,000 over the online "how much is your car worth" sites.

I've been looking for a car for awhile, and I've found a couple cars with odometers rolled back, and even one that was reported stolen! I'm glad I had the carfax reports to double check the car's history. Dennis T

I narrowed down my search to 4-5 used cars, with similar features and mileage. I obtained carfax reports for all of them, which by the way, it really makes sense to purchase up to 5 reports instead of one. As it turns out, the car that was our top pick, seemed like a really good deal until I read the car fax report. After reading the report there was no way were were going to buy the car. Thank you! As it turned out, our third choice of cars actually had the best history and the Carfax report provided the tipping point for our purchase.

I use CARFAX on every car, I purchased three cars in the last two months for our granddaughters, usually the dealers web site I can check the CARFAX. I do not do the autocheck or what ever its called. Yesterday I called a dealer about 50 miles away about thee last vehicle I did purchase but when I asked about the CARFAX he did not want to do it so I said no sale, at that point he did do a CARFAX. When I went to do the paper work he added 39.00 dollars to the bill, which I said I can do the same online, do you want the deal or not they took it off. Thanks for the great details and peace of mind with CARFAX

I was very interested in a maroon 2010 Honda Insight being sold by a small used car dealer outside of Murfreesboro TN. The price was good, but there was no warranty left at over 4 yrs and 60,000+ miles except on the hybrid battery. I asked him if he knew of any accidents the car had been in. He said he didn't know of any. I asked because I felt like the hood release looked damaged although everything else looked fine. I then asked for the CARFAX. The dealer told me that he didn't have one because CARFAX charges dealers thousands of dollars to be able to get car faxes. That didn't make sense to me. I bought my own car fax on the car. It turned out the car had been in two accidents with one involving setting off airbags. So CARFAX saved me.

I was looking for a newer truck, but had limited funds, I researched and looked at many vehicles by owner and at used car/truck lots, and big dealerships. After finding what I could afford , I asked if they had a carfax, they did , the vehicle was one owner, leased, no problems, no accidents reported, and had maintenance records reported, guess cause it was a lease, had all this confirmed, very impressive carfax... Thanx Robert

We were looking to purchase a used truck. We brought the truck to our mechanic it looked clean, our mechanic suggested we run a car fax. The truck had 2x the amount of mileage on it than the owner told us instead of 90,000 miles it had 180,000 miles. So glad we checked the car fax.

I searched for a Subaru Baja for my daughter. Finding a few, a couple of dealers and a private seller, we went to go look at them. Asking the usual questions; any accidents, service records, smoker or non, etc., one dealer in Boise, ID kept stating "not to my knowledge". Thanks to "carfax" we discovered that the car had, infact, been in an accident and other issues. Don't trust anyone, trust your "CARFAX".

I was in the market to but a used car for my wife. I shortlisted two cars, a beetle and a camry. I was so inclined towards the beetle but then I checked the carfax history and the beetle was involved in an accident. The Camry came out clean and I bought the camry.

I was looking at a 2007 Ford Edge that the price sounded very low I first looked up the book value then ran a CarFax on it. The CarFax showed it was involved in two minor accident and the value was book price plus $470.00. I bought the car because it was priced below book and CarFax said it was worth just over book price.
