SCAMMERS! Booked car to pick up from Stansted and tried to pick up with Passport, Driving licence, NHS Covid ID with address confirmation but they would not let me take car without utility bill!!
I offered top scan a utility bill from home but they would not accept and said it had to be original. Everything i tried they would not accept. On leaving without the car and spending £200 on taxi home to Brighton he said have a nice day. If my wife had not been there he would have had a smack in the mouth.
I am going to follow up by reporting to trading standards and so should the rest of you. It is the only way to get these companies shut down.
You cannot contact them either as booking with Carjet no working tel number or email.”

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON’T USE THIS COMPANY it could ruin your holiday and may even be fraudulent. I think it is owned by Do You Spain. I booked a car through them for Crete. Voucher said an agent from Carplus Rent would meet us at the airport last night. They did not arrive. We waited over an hour and a half - none of the rental companies at the airport had even heard of them. We eventually had to get a taxi to our resort as we had no alternative at that time of night and it cost us nearly 100 euros. NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - the number they give to contact Carplus does not work and there is no website for Carplus. And the only way you can contact Carjet (puts you through to Do You Spain) is by phone as you will notice they don’t give an e mail address on their site. I WAITED AN HOUR for someone to answer. They said they could not get hold of Carplus and told me to re-book!!! I asked for the agent to send me contact details for Carplus but all he sent me was my e mail address, my voucher number and the website of Carjet! To get a car on Crete last minute will now cost about 3 times the going rate. It’s outrageous if not fraudulent and frankly I don’t think they care. Read the rest of the reviews on this site and the real reviews on Trustpilot ie. not the “invited” reviews which are controlled by Carjet and amazingly are all positive only positive!!! If CarJet or Do You Spain actually read this site maybe they would care to contact me and explain why this is not fraudulent and refund my money and expenses. For their reference my booking number is CJT-38760518. Keep an eye on if they reply. Until then do yourself a massive favour and use another company.”
“ar jet has absolutely horrible customer service. We booked a car with them, when we reached the pickup point the company couldn't accept our credit card which was american express. We didn't have any other option so decided to cancel, HOWEVER there was no way we could cancel! We tried calling them with no response for hours.
5 days later we see a charge on our card when WE NEVER GOT THE CAR. We have no recourse as they do not have any customer support service in order to save money.
Avoid car jet at all costs, their whole business model relies on frustrating the customer to steal their money.”

“This is the worst experience that I've had with such thieves I've tried to book a car from Istanbul (car jet) Mean thieves they took the money from my bank account and didn't even confirm the reservation they took 91€ and didn't even answer our phone calls only after more than 25 minutes to pick up the phone call in which is international call which cost me more than € 20 this is an absolute rip-off, more than 24 hours no answer no money no booking.”
“I paid for a car to collect from Chania airport in Crete. When I arrived they asked for a credit card which I didnt have and they refused to give me the car I had already paid for. There was no mention on the website you needed to pay with a credit card -they did take the money from the debit card after all- and I got a refusal cancellation request because I submitted the form 30 mins past the time. I have been calling for 3 days now and they simply never answer. I dont know what to do.

When I went to collect the car from a company called Easierent they required a utility bill !! Like I take one on holiday!
They would not accept a online one.

“Definitely a scam company. I tried to cancel my booking and filled in the form on their website. It would not send . The telephone number they give is in Spain and you are told you are in a queue but nobody answers.

“2 rental cars from Carjet and both times they just did not show up at the airport. We were simply left without a car and they have not refunded us!!! They are impossible to reach and non responsive in emails. They simply stole us...”
“Just did a reservation, and some way along the process, the collection point changed to another airport, 600 km away. Since I received the confirmation and noticed it I have been trying to find an e-mail to contact customer support, and there is none (just no-reply and FAQs). The phone number they provide does not pick up. No customer service at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!”
“AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is a scam company. We rented a car using CARJET (which has been unhelpful and absolutely useless to help us) and the guy at the desk at Malta airport, on top of being RUDE and CONDESCENDING didn’t even wanna try our card for the security deposit because we are French, and make no distinction between credit cards and debit cards. He then asked us to pay 200 EUROS MORE, which we don’t even know where that number comes from. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. So now we are stranded at the airport, having paid for a car that we can only use if we pay MORE than the total price we already paid for the booking. SCAMMERS.
A SIMPLE SOLUTION WOULD BE TO PUT A DISCLAIMER SOMEWHERE SO PEOPLE DONT GET TRICKED INTO PAYING MORE, BUT THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Outrageous and downright disgusting.”
“After booking car hire , was sent all relevant documents, only to be informed hours before we were due to pick up, that there is no car available and the party we booked through are in spain..
Am still waiting on response and a refund,which is looking grimmer and grimmer of ever getting.
Was given a number to call, but this is in spain , and there is no answer,just a queue system which keeps you hanging and probably at great expense..”

“Terrible, terrible experience. Gave me a huge stress during our holidays. We've chosen "Golden Car" trough the website and rented it with insurance. Then when we got to the airport it was a huge scam with double price, cause what we paid was only "the website insurance". I don't even know what that means.
We refused it to pay and found out there was no refunding or any way to cancel the reservation because it was a "special offer", which is ridiculous.
Shame on "carjet" to put hidden rules in-between the small lines to mischief us. Its a nightmare.
