Got messed around by mechanic multiple times then charged for the privilege. Take your money elsewhere.

Needed new headlights for car to pass mot Was told no one near me could do the job Then a mysterious debit of 228 pounds taken from my bank. No idea googled and found a company that does not exist anymore Then days later a man turned up at five thirty saying from click mechanic and showed me my name on his mobile. Said I didn’t cancel but unaware I had an appointment. sent him away then wanted 40 pounds for cancelling. Have read these reviews and realise I was scammed but my card for my account had now been cancelled.

This is a scam company, avoid at all costs. The inspection report submitted by the mechanic did not reflect the real condition of the car. The report states that the car is in excellent condition, whereas upon personal inspection the car is obviously not in good condition. As an example of some of the issues that the report did not mention are: coolant tank level indicator broken (unable to determine actual coolant level), window rattles in driver door (requiring dismantling door card for investigation), cup holder clearly broken off centre console and missing. The biggest issue found within 2 mins which was not mentioned by the report is the fact that the car is emitting blue smoke on start-up, this indicating oil leaking into cylinders which would require a repair costing in the thousands of pounds. In short, the inspection report is useless at best and misleading at worst. To top it all off, Clickmechanic will say they are only a marketplace, yes they are a marketplace for dodgy mechanics to steal your hard earned money.

It appears I should have read these reviews before using click mechanic This sounds all too familiar and in a similar experience they abandon you when things go wrong. They clearly have opened up a marketplace for dodgy mechanics. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Avoid this terrible company. I made a booking for work to be done on priority and it was all accepted and they took my card details yesterday. I awoke this morning to find my job had been 'Cancelled'. I called @9am as they opened to enquire why they said because I complained in 2017 about one mechanic. I am now in a different area and wanted to try them again as they aren't the mechanics I am being refused service. Stay away from this atrocious company.

Absolute joke. I booked my car in mid December to have a new clutch fitted. It has been failing for a while, but I am an an HCA working for the NHS, and I rely on my little car. Now, I understand that people are off over the holidays, and first availability date was 10th January. I didn’t realise what was wrong with my car until December, when I explained the symptoms. On January 10th, a person came later than arranged and DROVE my car 15 miles, and then phoned back TO ADVISE me he didn’t have the part…..? Was quite aggressive about the state of my clutch… and then told me my 2 front tyres are bald. Erm, no they are fine! He was very rude on the phone when I told him that I managed to order a clutch online. I ordered it from Germany online, and a local mechanic is fitting it for me next week. Please Please avoid at all costs, Click Mechanic are awful. I am also out of pocket with petrol..

Click Mechanic directed me to one option, Stanton Garage Services Burton who knowingly fit a new part into a damaged part or damaged the old part while fitting the new part and didn't tell me, even though i asked about the standard of the repair they were doing. I found out when the MOT failed and it specifically pointed out the repair they had done just 2 days before. Shockingly bad customer service due to a total lack of due dilligence and professional responsibility. I asked direct questions and was met with a wall of disclaimer quoting. They couldn't give a toss! They had a single repair and they had the car for 11 hours the first time then another 28 hours. This was replacing one ball joint. They returned my car with damage to the headlights which they denied. I had my electrics checkeddays before in the run up to my MOT. James Stanton asked me whyi had not got my car repaired? I let him know that is what I was doing by giving it to him! I was forced to ask if they actually were qualified mechanics. They believe they give excellent service!! I am reporting them to Trading standards

I would not recommend Click Mechanic, I requested a quote for a repair but did not actually book anything in, I then got a message to say the mechanic was on his way despite me not authorising the booking, I had to cancel a visit that I never booked and that never took place, I was charged a £40 cancellation fee to cover the costs of the mechanics fuel.

Recently got my Vauxhall Zafira checked by a mechanic called Chris who I booked through Click mechanic. Problem was that check engine light was on. He replaced a lambda sensor which was already replaced recently and was brand new saying that it was of bad quality. Problem persisted after he changed the new sensor and light is still on. He charged a large amount for diagnostics and changing a lambda sensor that did not need changing. Now he says problem is with ECU. Demands 400 pounds to repair this. I have found him deceptive, unreliable, rough and rude. Bad experience with Clickmechanic. They should investigate who is on their list before recruiting them. Really disappointed! Clickmechanic should take responsibility of this unacceptable service! I have the right to express my views on this public forum and my experience with Clickmechanic previously regarding a similar problem is that you do not take responsibility or offer a solution. I feel robbed off money as the problem persists in spite of work done by the mechanic you sent in spite of spending nearly 300 pounds. He replaced a part that was already replaced recently and was brand new and then told me that problem is something else. This is totally unacceptable to spend 300 pounds and then been told that well, actually problem is elsewhere and now you have to spend 400 pounds more. I need to raise this on this forum as people read these reviews to warn them about your service before using them so that they know that you are unreliable and cannot be trusted.

I've got a loss of power on my car and 2 error codes (maf & map sensors) and so I've told CM when I booked a power inspection (£68). In my stupidity, I actually thought that the mechanic sent by them will diagnose and point to the exact failure. Instead, there comes a mechanic with his own tester and, after aprox 1/2 hours tells me the exact same thing that I told them. His suggestion was to try and replace the maf sensor, then see if it works better. If not, replace the map sensor as well. I didn't say anything, I let him go and he went away. Needless to say that if I wanted to go his approach I could have done it myself. Later that day I've opened a dispute to try and get my money back, money that I've realized I've paid for nothing. Of course, that didn't happen. I only got almost half of them, and the reason the mechanic selected on the CM site was that I have canceled the appointment. My advice: just avoid and go to a real garage, any garage.

Booked a repair. Clickmehcanic recommended work by identifying a common problem. They did turn up but didn't knock the door, just made a tel call. I picked up the phone a couple of minutes later and they didn't answer it - mechanic would have been nearby. Mechanic said he'd knocked the door and I didn't answer - not true. He also said he'd notified me he was on his way - not true. I believe he turned up, made a quick call to my mobile and when I didn't answer immediately he drove off with knowing he was getting a £40 charged to me. (Clickmechanic charged me £40 for the 'cancelled' appointment.) I've tried rebooking and offered dates for over a month ahead (almost everyday). No mechanics accepting the booking so I've decided to cut my losses and having read the reviews am going to a local reputable garage

The mechanic that accepted my job did not have the experience to correct or diagnose the fault accurately and when I asked for a refund he refused. So I then escalated to ClickMechanic administration and they agreed with me, asking the mechanic to refund my payment in full. The mechanic refused to do this and it turns out that ClickMechanic can't force them to and are unable to refund themselves. So case was closed with no refund. I would suggest you enquire of your mechanic, that he knows how to fix this and that you get it all in writing - without this, you are unlikely to get any refund

I want to post my experience with Click Mechanic as an urgent warning to anyone considering using them. First and foremost, I think it should be emphasised they're an intermediary that acts as a go-between between customers and garages, and as such their priority is money. If there are problems with the service you receive they use this to distance themselves as much as possible. Their business model is similar to the likes of trustatrader etc, where I imagine garages / mechanics pay to be featured on the site, otherwise the quality of service feels random and unvetted. I’d previously had great, if expensive, repairs done through Click Mechanic when my garage was too busy. This time I booked an interim service and MOT to ascertain the state of the car and whether it needed to be scrapped or could be repaired, which all needed to be done remotely in line with COVID guidelines. I informed the mechanic that the car had been stationary and the battery may be flat (£85 for a battery charge!), and to call. The keys were taken but no explanation was offered. After strained contact and missed connections, I then felt really uncomfortable and wary continuing the conversation over their internal mediation messaging and over the phone. Even when I asked for correspondence to be over email so I could have written proof, they’d still phone despite making it clear any trust had broken down. Eventually, the car was returned after a week having failed the MOT but unauthorised repairs were made to force it through a lenient MOT, when I'd rather have had it scrapped. Less than a week after said MOT the rear brakes failed and the driver’s side front tyre popped out of the ball joint during gentle town driving before I could get hold of a replacement car. I was very fortunate that there wasn’t a more serious accident and the breakdown service expressed shock at how the car was allowed back on the road, let alone passed an MOT. I contacted Click Mechanic with photos from the night and emphasising they’ve put me in physical danger. They responded with zero concern and asking for proof of a breakdown and recovery happening. Essentially, they’re going to use bureaucracy and admin to distance themselves from any responsibility, in the hopes customers will eventually run out of steam trying to fight them. Which I’m sure is effective but a sign of a dishonest and callous business. I’ve noticed they respond quite vociferously to online / public reviews but it’d be great if they used some of this energy towards existing customer service complaints and concerns about their vetting process. All I can say is, especially if maybe you're a new driver or not confident with cars, is to avoid Click Mechanic for your own safety. Yes, it feels quick and easy but if anything goes wrong they will not care. Research a local garage and avoid ClickMechanic at all costs.

A horrible company. They sent a mechanic without proper tools and equipment. He “serviced” my Mercedes Benz on my drive way, changed oil and left a huge spillage on the driveway, the oil got onto my plants. I will need to hire a company to remove that oil and it will cost a few hundred pounds. I have never ever experienced such a horrible service .

Booking #4115251 Absolutely appalled with my experience at ClickMechanic. Nick, the "mechanic" who came to fix a problem with the heater fan in my car only made the issue worse, and still charged me over £200. It appeared to be working fine when he left but it broke again shortly after. He came to "rectify" the issue again but was still left broken days later and had the cheek to suggest I'd "tampered" with it. I decided to take my car to an actual Vauxhall garage and they identified that the part had been fitted incorrectly by Nick which is why it kept breaking. Even after sending proof of Vauxhall's report & findings, Nick still wouldn't accept liability for this costly and time-consuming case and refused to refund any fees or give any form of compensation. ClickMechanic provided no support on my behalf and "resolved" the case with no compromise whatsoever. I will not be using them again.
