“My consultant never listened to me. I broke out badly and even developed cystic acne, which I never got prior to curology. She just told me to be patient because it was part of the "purging." I waited 3 months. I sent in pictures. She just didnt seem to care. I kept getting the same responses and she seemed to assume I was at fault because she also kept asking if I was using the products correctly. I followed the instructions to a T! Every single time I messaged her (which costs you points btw), she gave me a variation of "you might be using too much" (I wasnt the bottle lasted me longer than a month because I only used one pump per application), "your face was probably not thoroughly dried" (it was properly dried because I followed her instructions and waited 20 minutes after washing my face to apply), or "it may be hormonal and I can't prescribe you anything for that. You need to talk to your primary doctor." Anyway, I cancelled my subscription, picked up some salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide products, and my skin is now 300% better. No thanks to curology.”

Hi! We are SO sorry to hear that you continued to break out even though you followed all the directions. Results do vary and Curology may not work for everyone. However, we're so glad you found a routine that works for you!

“I started using Curology and shortly after, my skin broke out horribly in pimples on my forehead which I haven’t had since high school, and I developed a burning, itching rash all over my neck and chest. I messaged my consultant and she basically told me to push through it and that it would probably get better. My skin was so much better before Curology and when I threw it away and went back to my regular skincare routine, the rash went away after about a week and taking steroid pills to calm it down, and my breakouts subsided. Don’t try Curology, it will hurt your skin!”

“Curology made me breakout so much. Similar to some here, it seem to have worked the first two or three weeks and then the “purging” started. It was until 6 weeks in that I’m noticing that this purging is never ending and my consultant just continued to give me the typical copy paste response. I don’t know how else I’m recovering from this because this has been the worst breakout I’ve had and I got acne, dark spots, and skin irritation because of this. The consultants and NOT professional at all because I do not feel like my product was personalized nor did they pay attention to my progress when I submit my photos. They should have noticed how much worse it has gotten and not shove it off easily as purging because it continued endlessly. Curology ruined my skin and my self confidence. I feel so self conscious now especially when it literally looks like there’s an ants nest on my side profile and I can’t help but look down or always hide it.”

“My "personalized" bottle made my skin burn. I made it very clear that my skin is sensitive, but they didn't listen! It also had such a bad smell that it gave me a headache until 5 am. I had to wash it off my face and take ibuprofen just to sleep! Just terrible. If you are extremely sensitive to smells and topicals like I am, then do NOT get Curology.”

Hi Tabitha, I apologize that this was your experience with Curology. We do not add any fragrance to our products as that can be very irritating for some skin types. I will give this feedback to our team so they can review how we are treating those with sensitive skin and improve going forward. Best of luck in your skincare journey!

“Curology is not for everyone. They warn about “purging” but within two weeks my face was FULL of cystic acne. I went from having superficial Whitehead’s around to being so humiliated to even go outside. I believe it might work for some, but I strongly encourage you see a professional dermatologist before trying some of these active ingredients. I now have to buy some expensive products to calm down and heal my skin after curology. They were able to cancel my subscription quickly and they do have great customer service which is nice. Sadly this was not for me!”

I hate to hear that Curology did not work for you. While Curology does help with a variety of skin concerns and for many people, I do understand it might not work for everyone. I really do wish you the best in finding the right solution for your skin, and I am happy our customer service was able to help!

“I was so excited to try this product out, and to possibly end my acne forever! But oh, I was so wrong. After a whole month of using this, I developed acne like I never had before. It was internal pimples that hurt when I moved my face. The cleanser, moisturizer, and the medication made my face SUPER oily! My face would soak up two oil sheets when before that I typically used less than one! I honestly should get a refund for it ruining my face, I am still recovering from it two months later. Curology is a scam!”

Hi Prema! I apologize that you did not see results with Curology. We understand that while Curology helps many members, it won't be right for every individual. We do believe in our products and are not trying to scam anybody, but I can understand you concern. I truly hope you do find the right products for your skincare routine!

“Curology should really adapt their policy with refunds. With the amount they charge for a cleanser is ridiculous considering they can’t do refunds/returns. It really can screw people over and shows they really just care for the money ):”

“I was on this product for almost 2 years and my main concern was brown spots, this product never helped my brown spots and I did not see any difference with acne. Also when I put my account on hold they failed to notify me later after hold time they sent another package to me charging me. They should notify the customer and confirm if I want to be off hold.”

“the product kind of works I guess, but that is besides the point. I was told my card was inactive by Curology and that I would HAVE to update my card to get my next shipment, I obviously assumed they would not be charging my card until I updated it, and not to mention I tried canceling once before, but they still shipped and CHARGED me 40$ for a new bottle that im literally not going to use and now they are telling me that they CANT cancel or refund your purchase even before its been delivered to my house??? not even store credit or anything? like I don't even have the item in my hand and I still can't get a refund or have THEM cancel it. I don't even understand how the item would be defective if I haven't even laid my eyes on it yet....and keep in mind this is THE DAY OF that they shipped the item to me....”

“if you have clear skin and are looking for a product that will keep break outs away invest in a new product. my skin was clear and is getting worse and is even starting to have skin that’s coming off. on top of that i have another bottle being sent to me right now and i wish not to continue it but your not aloud to return. very disappointed about how this product is working for my skin and wish i never started. i just want my money back.”

“This is a terrible product. I got a free trial bottle and it didnt help my skin one bit, if anything, it made it worse. After, I decided to cancel my monthly shipments, therefore, I would not have to pay. Just now, I got a text saying my order has shipped, when I cancelled it a month ago. I cancelled my transaction again, to make sure I would not be charged. I hope that's all it takes.”

“Curology literally gave me a rash all over my face. I tried to contact the dermatologist I was given but she said to just keep using it and that it would get better. I had already been using it for a month and my skin was 10 times worse than it was when I started. My skin is insanely irritated, itchy, and very VERY red. I don't know if it was just my skin because everyone is different, but I have never had worse skin than I do after using Curology.”

“Their products are great but their Customer Service is some of the worst Ive ever experienced. Because of this, I have to give a low rating. Unless you make a scene on social media, they won't respond. When they do respond to you on social media, they ask you for your information as if they were going to do something with it. Still waiting for my refund.”

“Everything!! I paid a month ago and a month later I still don’t have the product. Take your business else where because we all work hard for our money and to throw it to a company that doesnt care or give us the customer service that we deserve isn’t worth it”

“I used to love this service, and the medicine was very effective. However, they switched my health care provider on me and didn’t give any sort of email notification at all. I didn’t find out until much later when I needed to actually log into the account. I think this was incredibly unprofessional and unethical.”

“I was on curology for close to a year and didn’t see significant results. After going to a traditional dermatologist, I learned that the doses on my medication (both the topical treatment and spironolactone) were too low for me to rsee improvements. Which makes sense since, again, i didn’t see improvements and I’d been diligent with my medications for close to a year. I was paired with Laura Garrison, and while very nice and professional,I didn’t get the vibe that she could really get me the adequate help for my skin. She also seldom reached out and I don’t know if that was to be expected (I also take into consideration the volume of patients she may have) but idk a nice check in note from her even if automated to all her patients would have been nice. Bottom line: No, I wouldn’t not recommend. For the amount of money I paid, I could’ve went to a traditional dermatologist from the beginning and fared out better. Which, once I found one, I did fare better.”
