Dreadful customer service! They are quite happy to take your money and aren't interested when things go wrong. Don't buy any thing from them!

I have ordered an oven online (not due to be delivered until the 18th) and want to take up the recycle option for the old oven. As it mentions this as an option on Currys website but I couId not find an option on the order form to select this I used their Live Chat Service to find out how to do this. I had an email chat with Jessica who advised me that once the order was confirmed I simply had to call 0344 561 1234 to book the recalling collection at a cost of £10.00. The number goes to KNOWHOW who I believe are part of Currys, the lady I spoke to was pleasant but had no idea about the recycling and had to constantly refer to her supervisor. I was told I cannot book in advance but that I have to ask the delivery driver to take the old one away!!!!! Apparently they will call Currys when delivering so that I may make a card payment to them over the phone at that time!!!! Even if they deliver at 0700 when Currys are not open!!!!!! Trying to speak to Currys on the phone is impossible, they never answer, absolute rubbish. Customer service is not their priority.

On a recent visit to the Currys Castle Marina store in Nottingham I purchased a kindle e-reader. This was after consulting with an instore assistant. There were 2 kindles available the kindle paperwhite and the kindle e-reader. I asked what the difference was and after some deliberation the shop assistant basically didn't really know, he was guessing and read out the on shelf tickets, which I had already done, he came to the conclusion that the kindle e-reader was the older version and that was why there was a price difference. The kindle paperwhite was £107 and the kindle e-reader was £49.99 including a £10 discount. Based on what the shop assistant had advised I decided to purchase the kindle e-reader at £49.99. Having set up my purchase at home I can't believe how wrong I was to choose the kindle e-reader. It is not the older version of the kindle paperwhite. It doesn't have the same features of the kindle paperwhite. There is no back light and therefore I can't read in the dark, to do this I need to purchase a separate light. If I had know this I would definitely not have purchased this item. On the kindle I purchased there are adverts. To remove these adverts I can pay £10, so not really a £10 discount on the purchase price. I wasn't told this in store. There was no plug in the box, again I have to purchase this separately, I wasn't told this in store. Finally the cable to charge my purchase is faulty, there seems to be a loose connection somewhere. In conclusion I feel I was completely mis informed about the product I purchased, it is not fit for purpose and I now have to spend more money to make it work for me. Would I recommend to my friends purchasing goods from the Currys store Nottingham - NO Would I recommend purchasing the kindle e-reader to my friends -NO

Bad customer service. When I bought a laptop from you 3yrs ago I was sold one without wifi capacity at a crucial time for me. I was assured a refurbished laptop would be just as good as a new one. Lies. At the purchase the salesman was I appropriately pushy to sign me up for something else. His tactics were shameful and made me uncomfortable. To make things worse I went back to your branch in Croydon for a large intimidating man who I approached after I was waiting for half an hour for help that he was spelling to his colleague and I was not to interrupt. He was insulting and rude and he is lucky I didn't file a claim. It's the worst kind of distrspectful "service" I have ever come across. I'm going to let others know exactly what happens when you shop at currys. I was extremely upset and now every time I see an email from you I remember it. Enough is enough. People should know.

I bought an integrated fridge freezer and paid for installation. This was delivered on Thursday last week but during the installation the installers managed to break a hinge on the cupboard door. They arranged for one of their installers to come back two days later but when he turned up he had no idea what to do and suggested that I source a replacement hinge and they would fit it. I told them that there was no way that I would be running around to get something that they had broken. He arranged to come back next day saying he would confirm by telephone (no call received) with hopefully a replacement hinge. He did turn up but couldn't fix it and told me that Currys would pay for me to get a joiner out. I rang their customer service line this morning and, after hanging on the line for fifteen minutes and then waiting for a call back as there were apparently no notes on the service record, I was told again that I would have to source a replacement hinge. I told them that this was completely unacceptable and that I needed to speak to a manager. As they were supposedly on another call, they were going to ring me right back. That was over an hour ago. I will never buy anything from them ever again and strongly advise everyone else to avoid them.

Needed new vacuum for upstairs and bought one at Curry's in June 2015. On the first use the cable got caught under head and was stripped to bare wires. Returned to Currys who said that Vax denied responsibility on grounds that running over cable is misuse. Curry's nor Vax would accept argument that vacuums sometimes run over their cables and that the heads should be designed in such a way that this sort of damage is impossible. Have run over Hoover and Dyson cords without damaging them. This machine is dangerous and should be redesigned or withdrawn from sale

Bought a top of the range washing machine and paid to have it fitted and old machine taken away. Neither fitted nor old machine removed. Waited 15 mins in store to complain as manager of Hove store gave hard sell on insurance to new customer saying "customer satisfaction is my job"... then told me nothing he could do nothing as Curry's out-source deliveries.... "Not my problem".... Curry's flatter to deceive at point of sale and couldn't give a damn about anything after sale. Shocking. In future I will select product at local Currys store but then buy on line via John Lewis who have some sense of customer service.

My husband and I bought a TV from Currys Lakeside last night; very excited about setting it up to watch a weekend of programs. The man in the store was very knowledgeable and helpful, nothing in the rest of this review is a reflection on him. TV came home, put together and plugged in. Then we did the setup, a quick process. Then it went into update mode - for 2 hours! We gave up and went to bed. Today we started the setup process again, only for it to get to the same update screen again. This time we left it running for close to 8 hours... Surely an update does not take that long. So I rang Currys, put on hold for 20 minutes, so gave up and ran the TV manufacture directly. They were very helpful (even called me back so that the call wouldn't cost me any more money). We went through a bunch of different techy things, only for the man to say sorry but I think you have a duff TV you need to return it and get another one. So I took the plunge to ring Currys. On hold for 10 minutes this time until someone answered, but they were a chocolate teapot and did nothing more than put me through to technical, so hold AGAIN for 25 minutes. By this stage I didn't want technical assistance I just wanted a TV that worked; so I asked him to reserve me a TV in the Medway branch (a bit out of my way, but willing to travel). There was one in stock, so off we went to collect (order number and 'magic' replacement code in hand). Medway did not have one in stock; its stock was the display model! This was not what I wanted - a TV that had been sitting there for probably months. To add insult to injury the staff at this store tried to tell us that we should have called them before we called the manufacture! I will never be buying anything from this company again. Nothing short of useless. I am left disappointed and disgusted, as well as TVless for my daughter's sleepover.

Being one of the few electronics shops in York I am forced to go to the storeroom when I need electronic products. However the staff is incompetent and the waiting time to be served is totally unacceptable! I actually gave up waiting after trying several times to get someone to sell me the things I needed. Went back home and order it on-line from another store. Pity it has to be that way...

I had the miss fortune to order a belling double oven from your sutton coldfield store, the person that tuck my order put down the wrong mouth on the order it should have been the 7th of october but it was order for november. As i had a fitter at home waiting for the oven i had to cancel the order.the store said i would get my refund in three to five days that was sixteen days ago after about ten phones calls later i have just got a email to say that they have just canceled the order and i should be getting my refund soon. For a company to keep a pensioner waiting for 414 pounds for so long is really poor mr p gulliver email address philip@gulliver1.plus.com

iF only no stars but unfortunately had to give it one. wHat a terrible company this no Customer Service at all.Paid £400 for laptop 4 weeks later it packed up but they said as 9 days over the 28 day period would have to have a repair. We need this for my older son who is doing open university for his work we ordered this for him as he DOSNT live with us and needed us to order it on the computer for him.I wouldn't have gone to Currys I would never recommend them at all .Customer services were not bothered and said I would have to have a repair.I don't think so I will be taking this a lot further So please don't by from this firm I will be posting on Facebook Twitter and going to watchdog etc.Guy on phone said he was sorry and went to ask his so called boss and it was him that said he could not do anything and I was even prepared to go into store and exchange this for a different model. It no he was adamant we could not do this.Do completely disgusted with you.I cannot afford to get another one and this Toshiba has this fault as it is all over Google and utube.-Also they said about toshiba well Currys it's you who is responsible. not Toshiba I bought it from you so you are responsible.Something needs to be done about this firm and quickly they have been getting away with it for years.

Delivery organisation was poor, after paying £40 for the next day deliver I was told it was not coming till the following Wednesday, I spent 1hr in the store sorting out and eventually arranged for it to come on the Friday. I was then to discover that it would be coming on Wednesday. although the staff were helpful the organisations was dreadful and I pity anyone who needs anything ordered form Curry's urgently.

We recently bought a Beko LX5053S Undercounter Fridge from Currys and arranged for delivery of the new fridge and collection and recycling of our old fridge. The delivery was and collection were made within the specified time slot although we thought that the charges for this were quite high. The fridge was supplied with a ridiculously short electrical lead and we had to purchase an extension lead before we could plug the new fridge into it's plug. This is obviously not the fault of Currys but our main gripe is that the fridge was advertised as having 2 YEAR GUARANTEE INCLUDED. After we had set the new fridge up and read the paperwork, it was obvious that the guarantee was only for 1 year only, so Currys are actually mis-selling this item.

Visited the Beckton, East London store of Curry's yesterday. Waited 10 minutes and as no salesperson showed any interest had to search for one. Not interested in showing product but only wanted sale. Having nearly complete the sale another customer spoke to him and he dealt with her completely ignoring me. Very rude salesperson with no manners. Not even a "thank you" or "good-bye" - - - -to busy with chatting to (or chatting up??) young attractive female customer.

Curry's is such an awful company to deal with. No one takes any ownership when there is a problem and I have spent hours on end and a total of four months now trying to resolve an issue with a dishwasher. I am now in the process of seeing if I can take them to a small claims court.

ordered a cooker delivery was for Wednesday 14 th had the day off work waste of time as no delivery arrived , phoned customer service , it took 12 minuets for them to answer and then they were no help, tried their tracking service and could not find it on there ! phoned back and was given another number to ring who where supposed to deliver it, he had no order for us !phoned back and another 10 mins to answer , still no idea when this order was or when it would be delivered. Next day still no email as promised so on the phone again 16 mins before it was answered , had enough, told them to cancel the order. Went to another supplier with the same order and low and behold they had it in their warehouse and it was delivered two days later. Shocking customer service, and raised a complaint , which probably a waste of time . Look elsewhere , wish I had read these reviews

What a thoroughly shambolic, depressing, lazy, under invested, and uncaring company. Been out of the country for a few years and we had to buy a washer dryer and dishwasher. 2.5 hours in the shop watching the staff coach each other in how to override their IT system which they all say doesn't work. And then to top it all when the goods are delivered the delivery guys wouldn't install them even though we had ordered it. We regret ever stepping foot inside Currys and will never ever go back.
