Disgusting company! I booked a car to be picked up from Glasgow Airport for £29.40 through Booking.com. When we got to the airport, I called the number but had a nightmare getting through as their phone lines were down. I understand this couldn’t be helped but it made this whole experience worse. When we got picked up by the shuttle and taken 10mins away from the airport, I was informed I needed a copy of a proof of address as well as my passport and driving license. Which was strange as on the main email the instructions were Things to remember when picking up your car • Your voucher. • A valid credit card in the main drivers name • Your Driving Licence (Both parts if applicable). But the guy at Easirent sifted through the terms and conditions and found a clause saying I needed to provide this 2nd proof of address. He went on to say the only way he could give is a car is if we take up the £35 per day insurance for the 5 days. After seeing how shocked I was it went down to £29 per day. After making a phone call to RentalCars.com and panicking about not getting to our hotel, I realised I had loads of postal documents scanned on my phone, but they guy said they wouldn’t be able to accept that as it has to be posted. It was hammering down with rain and we really just wanted to get out of there. So I paid the £145 and left. When I got to the hotel (by the way, on my anniversary holiday so really didn’t want to deal with this) I saw online that so many people have had issues with Easirent clobbering people with unfair hidden costs. I also saw that scanned documents ARE accepted, so effectively he lied to us to get extra insurance.

If I could I will rated (-) million, rather than one star. Save your money, time, and avoid a mental breakdown... It is only a legal enclosure designed to get more money from you... What seems initially cheap will in reality cost you more than renting a car from a credible rental company... By leaving your details and Credit card, you just give them the opportunity to fiddle with your credit card and charged unjustified amount of money without your consent... In addition, the staff (Liverpool Airport Branch Manager + Customer services in London Office Janesse) in general are unprofessional, Jitteriness, careless, brainless, clueless, and ARROGANT... We waited at the airport for about an hour to be picked up, when the transport arrived there was not enough room in the bus for all the passengers who were waiting so the driver had to do two loads. He was very apologetic and it wasn't his fault as he was the only driver on that day. Credit to the drivers Joel and Stephen (on the return journey) they were put under so much pressure by the company and David was also very helpful when we dropped off the car.

The WORST Car Rental company in Orlando, Florida, USA. First they do not pick any one from airport even after calling multiple times and waiting for 1 hour at the airport. And then when we book another rental car because of NO SHOW from EasiRent, next day EasiRent charges us Cancellation fee of $50 for NO SHOW. WOW they just sit in their rental car office and earn money instead of renting cars to people. How easy is that. DO NOT book this rental car, you will regret!!

STAY AWAY from this car rental company. They will lie, cheat, and steal from you. They claim to be easy and inexpensive, but the entire process when we landed in Dublin was horrendous. First, you have to call them to pick you up from the airport to take you to their car rental office. Second, they said a 20-25 minute wait, which turned into 1 hour 45 minutes for a van to pick us up. It didn't even have their company logo on it. The guy who drove the car looked like he hated his job too. Third, they told us that we would risk paying a lot of money if we got into an accidental etc., so we decided to pay for the full coverage insurance, which cost us an additional $44 a day. Lastly, when we returned the car, it was at a different location and the office was not opened. We waited 20 minutes and no one showed up, so we left the car there. When we got home, they charged our credit card 250 euros for leaving the car unattended. This is ridiculous. They need to have a drop box. The pricing appears low compared to the other car rental companies, but when you have to deal with the terrible service and paying the expensive insurance on top of that, it turns out to be even more expensive. Save yourself time and pain. Rent somewhere else. They will try to find anything to screw you over.

Hard to believe that this joke of a company actually *encourages* customers to post reviews here! But if we can help others avoid this awful experience... Where to even begin? The airport bus from Gatwick that comes only every 50 mins meaning we had to take a £20 cab? The horrible and hard to find office hidden in a packed hotel? The employees selling boxes of cigarettes to each other in the middle of our transaction? Then the costs that they lie about when you book. They demand 1500gbp, which is actually taken out of your account (most companies do not actually take this ). When we refused they offered insurance at 300+, then when we argued they randomly changed the figure to 150. When we said it was impossible to see any existing damage to the car as we collected it at night, the guy just shrugged and said "yeah". Later we saw that the previous user had broken off the wing mirror and taped it back on!!! When we returned the car , the returns point didn't correspond to the postcode they had given us, so more panic and 45 mins of driving around (no answer from them on the phone of course). Cannot stress this strongly enough: AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

I had a very bad experience with the Leeds-Bradfoord service as the employee tried to sell me an expensive insurance and he made up an absurd excuse saying that my european driving licence was not sufficient to rent a car in UK. They use bait prices and when you are at the counter they forced you to agree to extremely expensive mandatory coverage. I can see from online reviews that lots of customers are complaining for the same reason so it might be worth to investigate this as it looks like a systematic unfair commercial practice.

I was shocked and embarrassed by the behaviour of one of your managers at Newcastle branch which he negatively affected my experience with easirent . I was frankly appalled that a member of your staff could treat a customer in this way and “punish” him because he said that I’m dealing with easirent the company not personally you as a manager. I am not normally moved to complain but on this occasion, I feel I should bring the matter to your attention because you lost a customer because a manager felt he had the right and power to refuse service to someone. I fully respect the right of staff to withhold service to rude, aggressive, disruptive customers but in this instance, I was none of these and I feel that you should seriously consider whether you want to develop a reputation for managers who use their “power” in such an inappropriate manner. The Story: Yesterday afternoon I phoned your business for expanding my booking : 1332854 another two days. A man identifying himself as a manager answered the phone and proceeded to talk in a most rude and vulgar manner asking me to bring the car back at 4pm. My contract was at 4:30pm knowing that I had to wait 30min in the cold as the lady was very late. He also hung up on me (what a great example). I accepted and thought probably I was not in my best mood to tolerate him. I went ahead with another booking through auto-europe.co.uk Confirmation # UK4654666. When I arrived he gave me a look and said is it you who I hang up on earlier, in front of the staff and also said: let’s see. He took his paper and said you have damaged the car and you have to pay £270 so I asked him what it was the damage so he show me an old damage, which another member of staff mentioned it during the signature of the agreement. Of course, he was just looking for something to charge me so his answer was: that was all messed up by her the damage on the agreement was on the other side, she wrote it wrong!!!!!! Hmmm, Okey!!! Again, I accepted to pay and asked him to go through my new booking and take a new car, I just want to leave here! Mr the manager, refused to go ahead with my new booking and also refused to provide me lift back to the airport!!!! He said I’m not going through your new booking and I’m not giving you lift back to the airport (knowing that it was part of our contract)! I asked him to explain more, he said that you must to apologise to me or you have to stay here haha (looking at customer faces and staff)! I was embarrassed and shocked hearing that again in front of customers and staff knowing that I did nothing wrong other than requested queries, expand my booking, paid my damage, book a new car!!!! Overall, Mr the manager represented negatively himself as a person, as a manager and an easirent employee. As a results, I went back home with no car and auto-europe.co.uk refused to provide me the refund as they said it’s up to easy rent to pay it back. According to The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says that services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. Which is missing in my case, I am requesting: - An apology from Easirent and the manager. - A full refund, including the damage fees. IF you believe that, I am not entitled to a refund and an apology. Then, It has not been possible to resolve this matter amicably, and it is apparent that court action may be necessary, I write in compliance with the Practice Direction on Pre-Action Conduct. In accordance with the Practice Direction on Pre-Action Conduct and Under the Data Protection Act I would request that you provide me with copies of the following documents: - A copy of all the information you hold about me including the records of all the phone calls with Newcastle branch and customer service. - The reason for the cancelation of my booking: # UK4654666. - Your legal department contact details so my solicitor can get in touch with them. I can confirm that I would be agreeable to mediation and would consider any other system of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in order to avoid the need for this matter to be resolved by the courts. In closing, I would draw your attention to paragraphs 15 and 16 of the Practice Direction which gives the courts the power to impose sanctions on the parties if they fail to comply with the direction including failing to respond to this letter before claim. I look forward to hearing from you within the next 28 days. Should I not receive a response to my letter within this time frame, then I anticipate that court action will be commenced with no further reference to you.

They find something wrong with the car every time. So many hidden fees and they are a disgrace. First and last time I will ever use them and will spread the word. Don’t be fooled by their cheap prices as you pay for it in end. Was dark when I picked car up and when returned they found a scratch. Clearly commission on how much money you squeeze out of people. I am outaged and disgusted. I’ve had to pay £350 for an alloy wheel scratch when it can be done for £70. Do not use this company. Go with a reputable one who won’t rip you off. Bunch of money grabbers and that is putting it politely. Please do not book with them. Wish I had listed to previous reviews! To call themselves a company who have apparently 4 out of 5 stars is beyond a joke! They don’t tell you about admin charges, fuel charges and the cost of everything. Encourage you to take out some poxy insurance that also costs a fortune. Biggest mistake I ever made renting from these cowboys. I hope they enjoy their commission. Worst thing is they won’t even get the thing fixed that I alledegedly down. A total disgrace!

How this company is still in business I will never know. I don't write reviews in general, but I am so appaled at the service and damn right borderline criminal business they practice I wanted to warn other future customers. Use a reputable hire company, avoid this one like the plague.

NEVER, EVER use this car rental company for your own sanity. I requested a diesel car when i booked and was never told verbally that the car I had been given was a petrol car. My first fill up I put diesel into the car and ended up broken down on a busy motorway verge with a 2 year old and my wife. My initial contact with Exeter Easirent was to try and get a recovery sorted. All I was told was to ring a number on my contract. Never once did the company ring to see if I had been recovered. I had to wait for 3 hours with two of those hours with my daughter at the side of a motorway. Only for the holiday let owner coming to rescue my wife and daughter they would have been standing there for the whole 3 hours. The next morning I rang to see what easirent was going to do with the car. They said it was my responsibility to get the fuel drained. The problem was I was unclear where the AA had taken my car. Eventually, I located it and the car was drained. However a spark plug was not working. The AA engineer tried to locate a new spark plug from Peugeot but they were out of stock and were to be out of stock for the next two weeks. So Easirent gave me a car that I was unable to get parts for. I then had to get the car back to Exeter depot at my own expense. I asked would they give me a replacement car. They said no. I asked could I take out a completely new contract with them for a new car and they said no. So I was left on my family holiday without a car. I had to go and rent a car from a completely new company. From beginning to end Easirent was as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. I then got a £200 bill for a spark plug that costs about £25. I rang and asked for an itemised bill for the work done to the car and no one ever called me back. PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could give no stars I would.

I had previously written a 5 star review, and was a very local customer to easirent, unfortunately I had a terrible experience in late August hiring a car. We waited 4 hours for our hire car, and were given an empty tank of fuel, which is a direct violation of the contract. I went through the correct channels of lodging a complaint & believed that hopefully a customer service representative would come to us to turn the issue around. Unfortunately, I waited 63 days for a response which was honestly about 3 sentences of 'sorry you had a bad time, no refund due'. As someone who works in customer service I am appalled by the level of genuine indifferent feeling towards customers, especially loyal ones who gave the company an opportunity to turn our negative experience around. Unfortunately I will never use easirent again, the cheap price was not worth the headache & frustration it caused me.

What went wrong? Do not rent from this place! They will charge you more than any other car rental. Try to charge you for damages you are not responsible for. I was charged 3 months later for a Toll that I did pay. It's an amount of 16.20. Strangely enough when I called the Service Number, the girl knew the amount before I explained the charge!!! I never received the official charges from the toll invoice to my email address. Do not ever give this company your credit card!!!

Booked a Luton Box Van to be collected 10am 24/10/2018. On arrival I was told the van wasn't available. The guys on the desk didn't really seem too bothered, it was a case of nothing we can do so 'jog on'. I had booked a days holiday which I couldn't get back and haven't had my deposit back either. Would touch these shower of cnuts again...absolute amateurs!!

Over the last 10 weeks I used Easirent a few times. I first came into touch with them through Rentalcars.com and then as the vehicle was OK and cheap I used them through their website directly. We first used them at Luton airport - an offsite rental facility reached by a bus using the offsite car-parking for Luton. The office was like the Marie Celeste and checkout took about an hour before we drove away. As others have said there is pressure to take their extra insurance and a very slack checkout procedure for damage. We took copious photgraphs and video and made sure they knew we did. A few days later check-in was fast as they did not appear busy. No issues other than a long time to get the credit card hold of 1250 UKP released - about 10 days. I then used Easirent from Birmingham airport in consecutive weeks. First two rentals were fine - infact one was so cheap as to be stupid - I had a Ford Kuga for 2.83 UKP per day over 4 days. My third attempt at rental with them was an unpleasant experience and although I did get a vehicle, it turns out I was blacklisted! I didn't find this out until at the office to pick up my 4th rental from BHX. Anyway long story shortened; despite me disputing their claim that I was the one that was rude and confrontational and theire being CCTV evidence to back me up I remained blacklisted. Its actually no loss to me I used another company at BHX that was far more reliable and customer friendly. These are modern day cowboys (although run by Indians at BHX) and should you wish to use them - be wary and warned.

STEER CLEAR I agree with every single bad comment about this company. Booked car hire for 44 pounds. Got to the collection desk and they wanted either 1500 pound deposit (which they said you “should” get back within 10 days or you can phone up) or I could pay 150 on top of the hire for additional insurance and avoid the deposit. So for those who have budgeted to have 1500 pounds wiped off your credit or debit card balance for 10 days plus, you are in effect forced to take the extra insurance. I told them to take me back to Avis and of course, have been informed that i wont get the 44 pounds back due to late cancellation - i think i got off lightly judging by some of the stories. This is a company conning hard working people out of money and excusing it by calling it policy! I hope they disappear very soon

A sickening experience. I booked on line through the airline link for 2 days car hire for 4 people at £68.62. When I got home and checked my statement I see the whole thing has cost me £260.43. The insurance is a farce, using AXA then asking for more before you can take the car. Never again. They need shutting down.
