This the sort of company that advertise good deals but be really careful when booking with them - I booked the car with Mastercard but once I got there they didn’t accept it which made me take the “full cover” (half the price of the rental!!!). I’ve been using it for other car hires and fair enough it’s a debit and not actually credit card but my point being - in that case they shouldn’t allow bookings with that considering they do not accepted that sort of cards!! This is just a very sneaky way to make you pay more straight away when you have no other option. It happen the same thing to the couple that collected the car just before us - so it’s a routine thing I would say. Upon drop off they left us at the BP station at Glasgow airport (1pm) because the driver run out of credit in the card to pay for short stay/airport drop off…. I think that says it all! Also - the car was all beaten up and not that clean inside.

Do not choose this rental company! Hired the car in Manchester where the guy named Kad served us. Our train to car rent was cancelled and we came late, he used this to force us to take some extra insurance and also used a lies about car avaliability. He took a wrong payment from me and promised me it will be sent to my bank account but nothing happened and now I am having a problems with refunding these money.

Our car had a tyre warning light show in the first 10 mins of driving which when we rang Easirent we were basically told that we had probably drove over something . When I explained I hadn’t the response was “new cars can do that, have warning lights and just to ignore it” which wasn’t acceptable. Turns out the tyre pressure was low and one tyre was bold. This should have been checked by Easirent before we left. Also the car was very dirty when we collected it which made it hard to see marks and dints. The car had quite a few too. £1500 taken off the credit cards which I know is in the T&c’s but we think is extortionate considering we paid insurance too. Never paid this much with another car hire company. Even though the staff were great we will not be using them again.

Samantha is honest and fair when I was returning the car. There was another man there who seemed reasonable helping me fairly sort out what was initially done by a different man when I rented the car. Basically, most of what I have read by others occurred to me at that initial rental. It is just not good business the way that individual did with me. I was happy Samantha and that gentleman were there in the end and hope the company owner is not the person I dealt with initially and hope that the owners if there are any others deal with that person who should be ashamed of himself as I read all these other reviews. He is a disgrace to the good people of Ireland.

My complaint is with the online booking system. I wanted to rent a larger vehicle than the one I own in order for the whole family to attend my daughters graduation. I completed the online booking form and the payment by credit card option - all appeared OK. I hadn't noticed that I didn't get a confirmation email - as I was very busy around that time. However I turned up at the local Easirent depot at the appointed time, to find that no vehicle had been booked - Easirent had taken the full payment within 24 hours of my completing the booking - I presumed that this meant my booking was complete, but no. I was told by the staff at the depot that after online payment there was another stage to be completed to 'Complete' the booking - they did tell me that other people had had the same issue and they had raised this several times with the IT department. The staff at the depot (Wigan) couldn't have been nicer - they tried really hard to get us an alternative vehicle, but we simply didn't have time to wait - we had to squash into our own vehicle which really spoiled the weekend. Easirent really need to sort out their online booking system to ensure it works right - also they should not be accepting the payment if the booking isn't complete (yes they have refunded me now)/.

Had some mixed reviews with easirent. Was a frequent customer but then one day got refused a car as I didn’t have 2 proofs of address, even though I had rented a car for the last 3 weekends with them. I then had a string of good experiences, followed by a bad experience this time. I collected my car which was larger than the one I expected. The management then put on a big show “oh wow nice car, I gave you an upgrade, that’s thanks to me” type stuff. It wasn’t what I wanted but it was awkward to say no. The man that showed me to the car then said “this is the last automatic we have so we’ve had to give you this one”. Fair enough but I just felt like they had purposely played me. The car was faulty on the inside and the warning light was on the whole time. When I returned the car there was extra miles on it which I still can’t explain, as I know I didn’t do a 500 mile journey and I got charged £60. The worst bit about this was how much the staff memeber was loving charging me £60. I dunno, I just feel that every time I walk into this place it’s a lair of con men and you leave having played the lottery and either come out having had a good deal or been massively ripped off. There’s something dodgy about this company that I just can’t put my finger on. Wouldn’t recommend and I won’t be using them until I forget the experience and see a car advertised for £6.

After a very early flight from Italy we were off to a rough start. 3 phone calls for airport pickup. After waiting one hour and told “oh, we didn’t see you” (as if we were not standing their reading every vehicle sign that went by) we finally got picked up. Driver was pleasant and nice. Obviously not his doing as we witnessed him stop at another terminal and wait and look. Then during the construction going on at the check in, I was upsold and duped. Great customer service up-selling skills. Very commendable. I did not want the insurance and stated I didn’t mind the hold on my credit card. Yet tired, I wasn’t forceful enough for the one two act of “let me get my manager and see what we can do”. After pre paying 150$ another 145 and 100?bp went onto my card. Stupid and duped I got into a car that was on half full yet I signed full to full rerun with a hold of another 95bp on my card. At least I have the guys circle on the agreement I signed for that mess up! Now I will be charged another full day because 3:00 return means 3am to you all yet 3pm to me and Enterprise. However that went unnoticed and it doesn’t even open until 6:00am in Liverpool. I still have my agreement I cancelled with them. Sure wish I hadn’t. As this rental for 5 1/2 days cost more than a payment on a a brand new car loan for one full month. Not to add the sales pitch of driving to Lake District, I needed something bigger. Let me just say NO I did not. This car was a hinderance I feel was put on to me to deliver to Liverpool to get it out of your hair. Tiny streets with lots of traffic and zero parking. No one needs a car this big for 2 people anywhere in the UK. I won’t be a returning customer. I also work in the travel business for the US military overseas. I won’t be recommending your company either.

I got a car from them from Stansted, not realising it's not at the car rental village- and had to call lots of times, and wait in the cold, to be picked up. I had requested the Fiat 500 in the photo when I booked, and although I know its just to show the group it turns out they dont have any - at all. When I book with budget etc they usually get my the car I asked for. Just didnt like the fact that they show it (as the most popular) but dont have it. The chap was really nice- but I didnt understand it. I have a yearly package that covers excess (I would pay, then claim back) and so they actually took 1200 GB pounds from my credit card. Most just block the amount. I realised after returning the car that they had actually taken it twice (over AU$5k) and tried to email - no reply. After 10 days it looks like 1 charge has been refunded, but my card shows over $2k still on my card. I am getting no replies to emails, they told me on their facebook page to submit a message in customer service. I rent cars all the time. I didnt feel comfortable that they took my money - and before returning it actually got it cleaned as I thought they might try to charge the huge amount on their documents about costs. Ive never done that before. It just didnt feel right. The actual man who served me was lovely. My issue is with the company. And now Im waiting for my deposit to be returned- why would it take over 10 days to refund ??

My husband and I rented a car earlier this month due to a traffic accident on the motorway we were late to pick up the car. They told us they gave away our car and now needed to charge us an extra 20 pounds a day for the 5 days we had the car despite giving us the same car type we had asked for. We returned the car as we received it with 1/2 a tank of gas and despite the fact that the employee showed us that they had removed the fuel charge of $200 from my visa it remains as a charge on my credit card. I have emailed them once already with no actionOr response. I would steer clear of this company that claims to have family values and keep their prices low. Hidden fees like $1250.00 insurance make me know that a more reputable company will be my choice in the future. Book some where else

I have rented Easement Heathrow Airport a few times and had good cars and good service. But... Following a rental they will send you link to review, and for doing so they will provide you with a promotional offer - like £5 off your next rental or free extra diver etc. I had a long term rental so the extra driver offer was very attractive and would have saved me over £270. I got to the desk outside normal hours and the lone guy there was unable to deal with this offer - after making several phone calls etc. Having just come off a long-haul flight, spending 40 mins at a rental desk was the last thing that I wanted! Eventually I was asked to pay for the extra driver and ring customer services during office hours to claim a refund. I rang and the customer services and the rep. said that to get the refund I would need to send them a copy of the offer e-mail, survey and survey confirmation (even though I presented all of this at the rental desk). I did what was asked, however over 4 months later and 6 e-mails and 2 calls still no refund. To renege on an offer is dishonesty in my book, however, it is the scant regard to customer service after the event that this company exhibits that has really rilled me. My last e-mail to Customer Services was the 20th June 17 - no one responds! Pick this company on displayed price only - forget about their offers.

I had booked the car online and was quoted £75 for three days plus £25 for an additional driver and £60 for the insurance. I paid a booking fee of £50 and expected to pay the remaining £85 on arrival. However, we were then charged a further £135.00 when arrived to collect the car - far more than I was quoted online. I received no invoice to outline what we had paid and have the feeling that we have been ripped off. I would not recommend this company and i would not use them again.

Avoid Easirent like the plague. I rented a car from them at "Gatwick" (they are quite a long way from Gatwick, by the way). When I picked up the car I asked for the location of the nearest petrol station so that I could fill up on my return. I was given verbal directions, but on my return journey I failed to find the petrol station. As I was very close to Easirent and wanted to make the next shuttle bus back to the airport, I drove into their office with the intention of getting directions and then re-filling, or paying them to do it if it wasn't going to be too expensive. The person who dealt with me first was extremely helpful and explained that (unsurprisingly) it would be very expensive for them to fill the car. He directed me to a nearby supermarket even offered to run me to the airport if I missed the bus whilst filling up! What brilliant service I thought!. However, at this point the manager interrupted and insisted that once I was on their premises I was deemed to have returned the car would not allowed be to leave again. He was rude and belligerent. The rest of the staff were clearly embarrassed and looked a bit intimidated by his bullying manner. He took the key and hurriedly ordered the clerk to debit my card for the fuel without my agreement. He then told me that there was nothing that I could do about it as it is all in the terms and conditions (the last refuge of the rip-off merchant). It's a pity that they have managers like this because the other staff seem very helpful.

The sales rep that I dealt with at Edinburgh airport was decent and nice enough, however I chose this renting option as it was slightly cheaper than any others when flying home for Christmas from Sydney (usually do not go for the cheaper option on anything and WILL NOT again!). On arrival, the money for the car had already been deposited from my Australian account, and if it wasn't I would have went to Europcar or another supplier on the same day. As I have great credit I DO NOT have/own any credit cards and this is a major downfall of using Easirent as if you do not own a credit card you MUST TAKE INSURANCE OPTION upon arrival and these are £139 or £169 + £30 to be able to hand car back with empty tank (which they gave me 1/4 tank which is worth less than £15). By taking an option that was less than $100 AUD less than the major competitors, it cost me upon arrival an extra £169 before I even left the airport, so almost doubled the overall price of the rental when converting back into AUD!!! I asked if I could use my partners credit card, and was told that it had to be in the name I booked the car through which I also found ridiculous as the rep went out of his way to add revenue onto my booking, obviously for personal target purposes! ***THIS INFORMATION IS FOUND ON THE 3RD PAGE OF SMALL PRINT T&Cs IN THE CONTRACT BUT IS NOT MENTIONED ON ANY AGGREGATOR SITES IN T&C WHICH IS CONVENIENT*** Note to self - do not use the cheapest, or cheaper option on anything from now on, and note to the company, what a scam, and people are realising this as you publicise reviews from TrustPilot (7/10) and not TripAdvisor (2/5). Major note to self - Don't ever use this company again.

We booked in April, when we checked a few days before collection we were told the booking had been cancelled because they needed a deposit and had been unable to contact us by phone. We have caller id, call guardian and an answering machine, no one had rung and they had our email address from the booking. At first they offered nothing, until we said we needed a car, so after an hour or so and a further chase up, they confirmed they'd have something for us. We arrived to collect a 7 seat MPV and was given a 9 seat long wheelbase mini bus, which they insisted was an upgrade. Sorry not an upgrade when you get a van instead of a car. On initial looks they seem competitive, but when you take the extra mileage, insurance etc into consideration, they aren't.

(1) Their branch at Manchester Airport is not at Manchester Airport at all. Neither Expedia not Easirent make any attempt to mention that the airport is off junction 5 of the M56, while this branch is in The Marriott Hotel off junction 6. Confirmation emails don't mention it either. (2) On this first occasion of hiring the car I was told at the desk that I needed a DVLA code. No mention of this in the confirmation email. (3) On another occasion they gave me a car smelling of cigarette smoke. (4) On another occasion again, they gave me a car where the screenwash was empty - which I learned an hour into the journey when trying to clear the windscreen. (5) Then after 4 occasions of hiring cars with them, and bringing each vehicle back on time and in very good condition, I tried hiring a van. I pre-booked it online with my Visa debit card. That same Visa debit card that I had successfully used with them on all 4 previous occasions, to pay all costs including deposits. But this time at the desk the girl said I could note pay the deposit except by credit card. I have no credit card. And on all 4 previous occasions they were happy to use that debit card for the deposit. So the girl did a credit check on me which I failed. So I was refused this van hire even though I had used that same debit card for all costs on all occasions previously! And then because I had pre-booked the van they charged me for the hire anyway - how funny, they had no hesitation to accept my debit card then! Surprise surprise! It's a shame really because I am a very reliable customer with funds to pay. So on a couple of later occasions I have hired vans with SIXT - and they will accept my debit card. Steer clear of Easirent.

The fuel charge is a complete R I P off. All it states when booking, is fuel to be charged at collection. BS. You have to pay £30 fixed fee, irrespective of the amount of fuel in the car. Why don't they just provide a full tank and you return with a full tank, simples. . . . Why, because charging you £30 is earning money for them. It brings the cost of the hire more in line with other renters. My car was dirty. When I asked why?? Oh, it's been parked out back under the trees. So how do flies get stuck on the windscreen with it just sitting under those trees, more BS. Made it difficult to pick out minor blemishes on the bodywork. Ok when you collect but they use a fine tooth comb when you return. A real amateur company who should be avoided at all costs.

If renting from "Manchester Airport" DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE INITIAL LOW RENTAL COSTS! Firstly they're not actually based at the airport! All other car hire firms are in a dedicated area close to the terminals which has a very regular free shuttle bus service, but Easirent's office is several miles away in a Marriot hotel. They advertise a shuttle car service to their office, but I was told it would be at least 30 mins before they could collect me so I had to get a taxi at my own cost (£7). It isn't possible to walk as there are no footpaths/pavements for large stretches of the journey along/beside the M56 motorway. Also unless you take out their extortionate £16/day insurance they will charge a CDW deposit of £1500, PLUS they will actually take the money from your card (unlike almost all other car hire firms). So you will have to have either that amount of money in your account (if using a debit card) or that amount of available credit (if using a credit card), which of course reduces your available credit balance for the entire duration of your hire! I have annual car hire insurance which is no problem for any other car hire company, but Easirent refused to reduce their CDW deposit unless I bought their insurance. I have read on many other forums stories of them sometimes taking several days to refund customers' CDW deposits and charging customers for spurious 'damage' to vehicles. Luckily I had no problems with the car I hired, but friends who hired from them in 2014 were expected to take a car that had a flat tyre and clearly not roadworthy! On a positive note all of the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. I just hope that Easirent realise their business model of capturing customers with what see like great initial rates then hitting them with hidden costs is highly flawed. I, like many others I'm sure, won't be hiring from them again!
