“I'm a businessman and my company rely's on accurate product and seller information. after numerous screwed up orders and ripp offs I refused to do any more business with them for years. a few months ago I received an email from ebay saying that they have made a lot of changes to their system to prevent fraud and theft. This is my second order since receipt of said email and already I'm dealing with fraud. the selling party has already lied and did not have the product he was selling in his possession and the product has been delayed past the point of my vacation departure, and since they chose to notify me that returns and cancelations are not available only after the order was placed, I feel really defrauded now and don't want to buy a second item nearer to me to go on vacation with. Buyer beware I spent hours online to find the product here in the United States and shipping dates to correlate with my planes. Thanks EBAY I see you still allow tricksters to operate in your relm with impunity. I can't even get a tracking number because apparently the product shows it hasn't even shipped yet.”

“Been on eBay since 2003 with 100% positive Feedback and above average seller rating and found out my money was put on hold until delivery was made. Could understand if I had a dodgy history or was new. Joke of a company and closing my account.”

“I Joined Ebay way back in 1997 . I'm one of the original customers. I sold an item this past weekend, and Ebay charged me 12.5% of my FInal Sale. I wasn't aware of this until after I completed my sale. Absolutely rediculous. Going forward, I will never sell anything on Ebay ever again. This is obsurd, and again , absolutely Unacceptable. I also feel bad for the people that sell items that are in expensive. If you sell something for 10$, and ebay gets 12.5% of this sale, and it costs the seller say - 5$ to ship the item to the buyer. . . . . WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE ? ! I Hope people learn from my post, and never use Ebay for Selling ! It's a complete rip off. It's not worth it. Trust me. I've been a customer since the beginning of Ebay.”

“Ebay only makes money from Sellers. So when sellers rip you off or fraud or lie, Ebay will side with them on every appeal. They DO NOT guarantee anything. They say they do but when you try and collect they side with Seller. And if you think using PayPal helps, it does not. Paypal will side with EBAY on every decision they make, so you have NO RECOURSE. It is a big scam and I would not use unless you are prepared to get ripped off and take the loss. Too bad, it used to be a pretty good place, now they make Craigslist look like a safe place.”

“I purchased a sensor for my car, it was faulty, when I ask for a refund they just refused and closed my case, I'm trying to get my money back through PayPal, when I wrote a negative review to tell people about this company, they deleted it instantly, they only allow good reviews”

“Ive closed my account after 14 years, they used to be great but are now just a magnet for scammers. I ordered an item that didnt arrive, raised a refund claim and Ebay just cancelled it. Managed to get a paypal refund afer a wait of several weeks.”

“I purchased an item from yntworthyshop19 on EBay. The product cost almost £50. I used it twice, after that it failed to change. I contacted the company but they didn’t respond. I then contacted eBay who said that there was nothing they could do because it had been more than 30 days. Just wanted to warn anyone who is considering buying an electrical item from eBay; it’s not worth it. I would especially avoid yntworthyshop19. If you buy from a store you get 12 months warranty.”

“What terrible online company! Customer service practically inexistent and if you are finally able to contact them, they are simply rude and unhelpful. NO protection to their customers unless you are a seller. It is simply one of the worse online company. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID And it is obvious that Ebay can't care less about their customers as they don't even have the courtesy to reply to complaints. Eurk!”

“I advise you not to make a Ebay account, terrible customer support! They banned my account out of nothing, after asking for a long time I found out it was because I made a payment when I was on my education. I tried to recover my account but Ebay was just incredible rude and just ended conversation on their own. I also had some package that didn't arrived yet, since my account is banned I cant fix this issue. They don't respond to my email anymore either. I also alarmed the dutch authority on privacy and the police, I advise everyone to do the same who got issues with Ebay.”

“A very awful selling platform What you upto eBay ? Ask for bank account details and already had bank details , ask for driving licence/ passport/ council tax bill etc , after being aseller for over 10 years . It is not right or humane to do that. It is risky to give them , once they hold all your information they can use it ,. Or third party hack, it is a unsafe method”

“eBay is a joke there needs to be a new wave for sellers and buyers with fair platform for all charging over 10% is too much should never be over 7% max plus they have additional fees unknown fees shipping fees there really is no break you are not in control and don't get fair compensation sell for loss and then the federal taxes after $600 so idk how I'm supposed to be positive in profit or comments”

“Ebay helping bad sellers to defraud customers, It is now a common practice to find the sale price of an item as an example $100 and its shipping cost is $150-$250 !!! 90% of the products for sales are fake, and the seller is listing specifications his product has nothing of them. The product are fraud and garbage , sometimes come broken or used and to return takes forever, if the seller respond to you !! Warranty is flawed and whenever the product break down, seller will never ever replace it or give you your money back !!! Ebay is a trashy company should go out of business becuse it is a fraud business”

“I purchased item and tracking shows it was delivered but i didnt rcevied item i requested ebay for refund and ebay various time told me to contact royal mail i contacted and royal mail informed me there is no letter we can give you ebay misguided you to get letter from us i watsed my time and money. This is the message i rceived from royal mail I’ve checked the tracking records and can see your item was delivered on 26/01/2022. The GPS tracking inform ation, obtained when the item was delivered, also confirms this. I have reported this issue to the local Delivery Office and have recorded your complaint under reference 220207-003209. However, due to the time that's passed it's unlikely the postperson will remember how the item was delivered and so, unfortunately, there isn't any further information we can provide. It appears you have been misadvised by eBay; we are unable to provide the information on letter headed paper requested by them. I apologise for any further inconvenience caused but we’re unable to action this request and would refer you back to eBay for further confirmation of how to progress your claim. I’m sorry you’ve had to contact us but there is no further assistance we can provide with this request. Please be assured we’ll also speak with eBay to prevent this advice being given in future.”

“I ordered a pair of supposedly leather pants. The seller said they were in the US, they were in China. I ordered them and they are cheap plastic. The seller said they would accept my return but I had to pay for the shipping. It is eBay policy the seller pays for the shopping if the item is damaged or FAKE. EBay will not back me on this and there is no one to speak to in customer service now. Everything is done electronically. I need help.! EBay is now not a good place to shop. You can not get any help. I contacted them through their site and it was no help.”

“Contacted support multiple times and they were very unhelpful in getting the reason why my girlfriend's brand new account made two days ago was suspended. (she's never used eBay her whole life) I am 99.9% positive eBay thinks that she is trying to scam people with "designer" bags when in reality, goodwill -> purchase -> research -> sell for profit. Guess she is considered scamming when trying to sell puzzles and clothes and other items... at least now we have a good reason to make a website for the business or sell on platforms that are much better with support and no fees. Seriously eBay get your customer support in check and get your business model in check. 1.2 stars is actually a lot higher than what I was expecting this platform to have. If you're thinking this is great and amazing, you're in for a rough ride when eBay bans you for something they "think" is a good reason, and then do not proceed to tell you the reason why or let you speak with higher-ups to determine the solution. Even without breaking any TOS, they seem to not care so guess what neither do we. All it is, is a ticking time bomb, read through the reviews on here, how many people are actually satisfied? Why is this old outdated platform even still around when they can do this to new customers who try to buy or sell? I personally have used eBay since I was 7, selling items and games on my own that I got bored playing with as a kid, never got banned, and never had any problems. This problem doesn't even personally affect me since it isn't my account, but I will no longer ever use the platform and all their competitors are miles ahead of what they will ever be doing. Seriously, the first step in running a successful business is to value your customers and clients, something eBay has no accountability for clearly. Also, I have had instances where I have been "scammed" on eBay myself, left a bad seller review, and nothing was done, the accounts are still selling to this day I'm sure. This to me as a technical person shows incompetence at a corporate level in the business model. Everybody looking to make money selling items should try selling them locally or even with their competitors first such as grailed or honestly anything else. eBay takes their cut and all that's cool, but if they do that and then ban your account, I feel like the company is just scamming you. Try selling locally with no fees so these corporate goodies don't get a kickback from your hard work and dedication to building a reputable platform. You'll probably be happier and less stressed anyways and won't have to deal with incompetent people.”

“Identification of passport and driving licence and birth certificate Out of order. Long standing reputation sellers should not be subject to this . Cash sales listings removed without warning when I had bids on . Because they want passport and driving licence. eBay would still get fees from a cash sale. Removing all listings with bids on , Holding payments from sales on people. Review your policy if you want seller on platform, your loosing sellers that have been with you since eBay started 1995 to 1996.”
