“eBay is all in it for the buyers and don't mind the sellers getting ripped off and there is loads of counterfeit stuff on eBay now eBay is a disgrace”

“I was a customer for 20 years and only bought with the money-back guarantee. Now we have sellers who sell sneakers and shoes from China and don't disclose when they sell products from that country, and size 7 is actually a size 5, and size 8 is a size 6, because everything that comes from China or Asian countries is small. This seller sent me a shoe two sizes too small. I complained to him, and he was very rude, and eBay didn't care at all! So I decided never to buy from eBay again, and don't believe in the money-back guarantee, because it's a lie!”

“I returned Samsung s24 ultra as it had fake screen with rounded screen corners and narrower screen and in used condition with plastic sticker on the back (images attached). Today I received an email from eBay that seller refunds only half the original price claiming the item was returned not in its original condition (another lie). I have reported the seller techtrove2010 (pretends to be UK but he is Chinese) after finding that there were other buyers who bought from him phones with fake screens (see his negative feedbacks). Since he already committed the same crime repeatedly I've asked eBay why you are still allowed to continue this crime!!!”

“eBay has become a fraudulent market place. Many sellers are advertising items and after you order and pay for them the seller takes himself off eBay and you have no one to talk to about your payment refund. You get no item and no customer service. Basically you might lose your money if your credit card or PayPal will not protect you. Be very careful and do not buy on eBay!!! My seller took himself off eBay as soon as I have paid and did not send my item!”

“Jameel Reference number 1-501429034636reference Reference case number on eBay. This company and individual has discriminated against me and regarding item I’m trying to sell. I have contacted them multiple times and have multiple records confirming I am being discriminated against on their site without any policy violation and on verbal record that he implied and stated that they would like me to not realist items because they do not want it no, it does not go against their policy and cannot tell me what the policy even was. The Attorney General needs to investigate this business. He further hung up on me and ended the call and could not explain any policy or any rules regarding my items and simply said we just don’t like it so we don’t want you to list it, when it’s fully complaint with every policy and I’ve heard from other supervisors that it is as well”

“I ordered a watch strap from eBay and never received the item. I contacted their shipper multiple tim s but they never delivered my item to my home address. Their carrier also lied to me saying they’ll would deliver my item but they never did. Buyer beware with eBay!”

“Ebay chose to use the courier Evri who lost my £750 phone, Ebay doesn't care. Evri 'delivered' my £750 phone but the POD was of a different address, they apologised explaining it won't happen again and to contact Ebay, but Ebay rejected my claim because there was a 'POD'. Ebay chose to use Evri, not the seller. The seller messaged me apologising that this happened. What a dreadful company - I wasn't surprised to see 1.2/5 rating on Trust Pilot. What do I do now? JOB OPPORTUNITY: Maybe I should become a subcontractor driver for Evri, then I can take a van full of parcels, upload fake photo's and steal the lot, and there's NOTHING they care to do about it.”

“This place has become a haven for scammers and liars selling dodgy, stolen and faulty goods. Not every seller of course but most, it seems. Are you economic with the truth? Then eBay is the place to be. Do you think most buyers are stupid? Then you will be at home on eBay. Sadly any other platforms are not much better. Amazon not too bad but expensive and at times lacking in proper item information.”

“I’ve used eBay for 12 years. This recent experience has completely destroyed any trust I had left in the platform. I raised an Item Not Received case on 22 November for an item that shows as “delivered,” even though nothing arrived. The seller ignored me, kept giving the same robotic reply, and refused to investigate. So I contacted Royal Mail myself — they told me to speak to eBay. What followed was days of contradictory information, empty promises, and excuses from multiple agents: Jyoti, Hetang, Harshita, Suraj, Manash I was told different dates every time — “wait until the 25th,” then “tomorrow,” then suddenly “the 27th.” One agent even told me “weekends don’t count,” which is absurd. My final interaction was with a manager named Suraj. Even he repeated the same scripted lines, claimed eBay can’t validate delivery (while using that same tracking to deny my case), and offered zero help. His only advice was to “ask the seller,” even though the seller had already refused to assist. eBay promotes a “Money Back Guarantee,” but when you actually need it, they hide behind tracking and leave loyal customers with no support. This experience has been draining, stressful, and incredibly disappointing. After 12 years, I expected better than being dismissed and sent in circles.”
