“Hi me and a friend ( 2 girls ) stayed here a few days over the fringe festival, and it was perfect! it was 10-15min walk from Princes Street, but it felt safe walking at night time. there was an off licene and a co-op seconds away. the actual flat was great, super clean!everything you could ask for, including books, movies and tea and milk! would 100% stay here again !
thanks for a great place to stay!”
“We were impressed with the standard of decor and facilities in this apartment. Lovely big rooms, superb kitchen and bathroom. Walking distance from the city centre but far enough away to be enjoyably quiet. We would book this apartment again ourselves, which is the best recommendation, I guess.”
“Lovely stay in the shared house. Phil & Karen made us feel very welcome in their home with all the facilities you could wish for. Easy access into Edinburgh by bus or taxi.Highly recommended by all 4 of us!”
“This flat is beautiful, very well appointed, well equipped and with a little bit of quirkiness in the decor, viz the trompe l'oeil wall paintings. It is an all-uphill walk to the City Centre, but doable in about 10 - 15 mins. When we stayed (9-13 Aug 2011) there was a construction site three doors away that started work at about 8 - 9am each day and was very noisy, which was a shame. No chance of a lie-in if you're in the back bedroom! However, hopefully that will be finished soon. The pub next door but one (Starbar) is small and friendly and has a juke box that operates on 10p per play, which was really nice. All together a great place to stay in Edinburgh and within walking distance of all main attractions. Great for festival as it is slightly outside the main hustle and bustle too. Literally five mins walk from The Stand comedy club in York Square!”
“The location is good for both old and new town, the flat is compact, but enough space for max 6 people. Bathroom is basic but everything functions well, so that's good enough for us.Sofas nice and squishy, TV definitely huge and free wireless internet access, an absolute plus for family travelling with teenagers and wishing to buy fringe tickets online! Thanks!”
“Brilliant flat, very well equipped with just about everything you could need (including a dvd player and hairdryers, which are not on the contents list).
A couple of small problems were sorted out immediately, thanks.
Great location, fantastic view over park and just a short walk to Holyrood and Royal Mile. Supermarket and small shopping centre a short walk away also.
Buses are fantastic here if you come by train as we did, very frequent to all destinations in and around Edinburgh and a set price (£1.30 adults or 70p child) for any distance. Day tickets also available and good value.
Had a great time and would come back to accomodation.”
“Pefect situation and flat providing all amenities necessary with lovely little extras to make you feel welcome eg tea, coffee, milk, butter, juice and bread on arrival so no need to go out and shop for breakfast”
“We stayed here for a few days and we had such a great time. The flat was immaculate and in a great location so close to the centre. The landlady was just so helpful and absolutely lovely. I would recommend this place to to anyone visiting Edinburgh and we will definitely be staying here again next time we come back up.”
“We spent four weeks in this apartment as part of our relocation from Hiroshima to Edinburgh. The apartment is very spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Janet is extremely helpful and friendly and we really appreciate her kindness. This apartment gives you the chance to live in an impressive Victorian tenement building and it is well-situated just across from bus stops from where you can take buses into the city centre in 10-15 minutes. Thoroughly recommended!”
“Good location, close to the city centre, shops and to the green and quiet areas too. Good if you look for a quiet place to stay - not at the main road, but also not far to the bus stops.”
“We used the flat as a base for a long weekend looking round houses and schools for our relocation to Edinburgh. We needed somewhere convenient for the Town Centre and on easy routes to get around the City. This was perfect, with good clean and tidy rooms that provided ample space and ideal accommodation. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, beds were very comfortable and being on the ground floor with good parking meant it was very convenient. We had a lovely stay.”
“When approaching & entering the flat, we were a little concerned as it seemed a little dodgy - the hall & stairs seemed dark & uninviting. The stairs are circular so narrow in areas - something we learned is more typical in the UK, and were great exercise! However, the place was wonderful - all the amenities looked new & in good working order. The location was amazing, easy walking distance to everything, and turned out to be a very pleasant part of the city. Very quiet on the bedroom side, and being on the top floor, there were no noise problems from neighbors. The only "niggle" we encountered was the very small WC (made up by the large shower room). Outside of that, it was the perfect place; large enough so that we could spread out a little & relax when not out enjoying beautiful Edinburgh. You won't go wrong with this rental!”
“Could not have been nearer to Edinburghs attractions buses all readily accessible. The only downside was the entrance to the apartment.Hall, stairs (three flights)all needed a good clean but once you were in the apartment the furnishings were clean and comfortable.”
“I liked the house and its location and would happily stay there again. The house is modern, in a quiet cul de sac with views across the city. It has just the right level of simple and functional fixtures & fittings and is easy to keep clean and tidy. Beds were comfy and the water was hot, good information on arrival. There is a Small yard at the back overlooking the former site of the quarry that supplied the stone of the houses that make up the new town (now a a Sainsbury's). The location could appear remote to some but is not and is only a few minutes walk in three directions from busy Edinburgh bus routes that give fast access to the city centre. As a cyclist, a major plus for me was its proximity to an entry point to the network of off road cycle tracks on former railways in the city: there is direct mainly off road access to routes to much of the city and easy access to routes beyond the city. The Forth bridges are about 40 mins away, Crammond about 10 mins,Leith about 15mins and Haymarket railway station about 10 mins. Only bad point, no box for recyclables.”
“Our stay was very good. The apartment was very clean and very accomodating due to our early arrival. It was a great location as we were able to walk everywhere. The flat was noisy though, esp. at night when the younger people in the upper floors of the building would come in and the downstairs door would slam. Also, if you closed the windows, which were great for outside noise, it got very stuffy in there. thats it, thanks so much. Midge”
“Description is very honest. The location is very close to the castle. There is no local parking. It has a full kitchen. It was left very clean and the landlord was quite friendly.”
“Lovely little flat in Stockbridge. Very comfortable and perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh, good location with easy access to the centre of the city.”
“The flat was perfect, it was beautiful comfortable clean and very well equipped, also very convenient for the city centre. Nothing bad to say about it!”
