“I have used ECP for many years, but was pretty disappointed by my latest interaction. Not only has the store been rearranged in a way that makes it much more crowded and seemed to generate a longer wait to collect the parts, but the part supplied was faulty! This was an exhaust downpipe and front secton for my Son's VW Polo and the exhaust supplied was not correctly finished. When I collected it I noticed that the pipe was only tack welded to the mounting flange at the front end, but I assumed this was because there was some form of sleeve that came down inside it from the manifold, to which it bolts. I was very unhappy to find there is no such sleeve and the exhaust would have been in no way airtight at the manifold. Given the car was in pieces over my pit and required for my son to drive to work the following morning, I had to rush it out to a local welder for him to rectify the problem for me. With the flange properly attached and finished, I fitted it to the car and the joint between the flange and the downpipe is not perfect as the flange is clearly distorted to boot. It should now be good enough, but this is very poor indeed. If you then add to this the fact that there really isn't anyone to speak to who cares about the problem, it is fairly disappointing. Some money back would be nice. As it is I spent £85 on the exhaust part and then had to spend a further £25 having work done to it to make it remotely serviceable. Not ECP's finest hour...”
