“i had a video tape of my wife from 2005 at a ballroom dancing competition. it was damaged but Everpresent was able to get it copied to .mp4. The significance is we started dating in 2004, married in 2007 and she died in 2024, just week shy of 20 years from our 1st date. i so enjoyed dancing with her and EverPresent was able to salvage a video memory that I thought was lost forever.”
“I wish I could be more positive, because I love your business concept. However, when I sent in my 210 35 mm slides, I got back 167 of my slides and 43 of somebody else's slide. Your support team is working to resolve the situation, but the fact that this could happen is very concerning on a number of levels, most importantly, privacy.”
Hello,
We can't thank you enough for bringing this to our attention. As you stated, our team is currently investigating the situation, and a manager will be in touch with you personally to discuss the issue further.
Privacy and security are of paramount importance to us, and any potential lapse is taken extremely seriously. Again, thank you for reporting the error when you did, and we will be in touch this week.
Many thanks,
EverPresent
“Unfortunately this was a very bad experience. Very difficult to speak to anyone at company. I tried via phone and e mail with no response. I paid over $2000. 00 for this large job of my family’s pictures and films and the original estimate was $1200.00. It appeared that the quality was not enhanced at all, the audio was missing in large areas (that was good on original)and so many doubles. The labeling was not even close to what was on tape. They copied 20 tapes that were old tv shows that my kids had taped over family film's. That’s when it was evident that absolutely no one was paying attention. I had told the company representatives originally that over taping might have happened and I was told if this was noted I would receive a call to discuss.
I dropped the job off in October and was told it would be complete by Christmas. When it came to the week before Christmas and I still did not hear back from them I really pressed for at least a call back regarding status. Within a few days the job suddenly was complete without anyone again calling me back. It seemed to us that the job was forgotten and suddenly just done without any one even looking at what they were copying and absolutely no effort.
This was something that I had been looking to do for years and finally decided to go with this company obviously I chose wrong. I have contacted them again and asked to speak to someone and have not heard back at all.
Horrible company I suspect this is just done by AI with no human involvement.
Pat”
Hi Pat,
Thank you for relaying your experience. We apologize for not being more communicative, but as you observed, December is an exceptionally busy time for our company as we are striving to assist as many families as possible for the holiday season. We are so glad you were able to get your project completed by Christmas as promised. We would be more than happy to assist you with another project in the future, and we can promise much more frequent communication with you consultant going forward.
Best Regards,
EverPresent
“I am impressed with the quality of the work and the professionalism throughout the process. At first I did it with doubts and fears of letting go of the most precious thing I have, which were the videos of my only son. Today I can say that it was wonderful to have made the decision to convert all those VCR tapes to USB. The emotion I felt when giving him the USB as a Christmas gift is inexplicable. Reliving those moments with my son and the whole family was, is and will be the best Christmas gift. Everpresent, thank you for making it possible.”
“The video was a THRILL to watch. Sooooo many family members who are no longer with us. VERY cathartic. My cousin made the video while attending our son’s Bar Mitzvah in 1989. And I’ve NEVER seen it. Her daughters found the tape when she passed away. I can’t wait to watch it with my sons and their families. Soooo happy I found you. I am highly motivated to get more to you that I haven’t viewed in my parents collection. Thank you so much for this treasure.
Sincerely
Wendy G”
“Pictures were skewed, full page articles were unreadable in different areas, some pictures were damaged. Certainly not worth the money paid. Not the level of quality I was promised. Glad I didn’t pay $7600 for all 35 albums I have.”
Hi Edward,
Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this to our attention. Quality control is very important to us, and we will be thoroughly looking into the issues you described. A member of our management team will be reaching out to discuss possible options.
Best Regards,
EverPresent
“My old video cam tapes were converted to digital, and although one tape wasn't salvageable, the rest looked great. Everpresent's service was fast, and communication throughout the process was great.”
“In the autumn of 2024, I brought three projects to EverPresent in Newton:
1. Two S-VHS cassettes of a 1992 wedding video, which I asked to have transferred to digital and put onto thumb drive and DVD
2. Three short Super8 film reels, which I asked to be transferred to digital and have four specified titles inserted
3. One ScanCafe DVD containing an hour of digitized home movies, which I asked to have duplicated onto thumb drive and DVD for further distribution within my family
At Newton, the EverPresent receptionist accommodated me in a businesslike manner. Much to my surprise, however, she informed me that they do not insert titles and that they cannot copy my ScanCafe DVD onto distribution DVDs.
When I picked up the finished work, I discovered that the single thumb drive containing project #2 happened also to contain a spurious copy of project #1. No harm done, but gee whiz.
It gets worse. When I viewed the project #1 digital transfer (which had been sourced from S-VHS cassettes), I was dismayed by egregious vertical-sync instability. I declare that this flutter came from EverPresent’s tape deck; those S-VHS cassettes have always played stably on my personal Panasonic AG-1970 tape deck, and they still do. That vertical-sync flutter completely ruined the transfer. Sadly, I now choose to not distribute project #1 to any intended recipient in the family.
Another disappointment pertains to our attempted use of the EverPresent website. We wanted to learn how to get our movies distributed to geographically distant family members. We used the link sent to us by EverPresent; but once we set up an account, we couldn’t figure out how to proceed from there: the EverPresent web pages proved too wordy and very short of useful information. One family member – known for his professional software expertise – tried to go to the EverPresent site directly from Google but could never find a way to log in. He always had to resort to the link which had been sent to us by EverPresent.
I had been kindly told that if I brought my laptop with me to Newton when picking up the products, the use of the EverPresent website would be demonstrated for me. So I did bring it, and I indeed did see the EverPresent wi-fi icon on my screen. But the receptionist told me that no demonstration would be possible because their wi-fi was not working.
We were eventually consoled at home when we successfully downloaded digital video to our laptops from the thumb drive delivered for project #3. The same might also be said for project #2 except that we do miss the much-needed transitional titles. At least that ended our continuing nightmare with the EverPresent website.
