“Generally speaking: Very good quality on finished product; a bit pricey, and I felt misled by the marketing.
Specifically: There was not one consistent contact person, and completion of product took longer and billing was more expensive and confusing than I was led to believe at the outset (was not a huge project by any means). The emails/communications seemed geared around assumptions that the customer has a strong level of knowledge about the technology involved.”

“The finished product is great. However your 75 dollar an hour to edit video is excessive. I wanted 30 seconds edited out and was told that I would be charged $75.00. I think the editing charge should be pro rated to reflect the actual time spent in the editing process and not an arbitrary flat fee regardless of how little time is spent on the process.”

“The results were pretty good. As for the customer service interaction, I have two suggestions:
- A little less detail on each email. The constant focus on all your processes and everything you do (after the initial explanation) takes up too much of my time.
- A bit better coordination in terms of pickup / delivery status.

“While the idea of Ever Present was an intriguing concept, the execution was not so good. The rep who helped me sounded sleepy and completely apathetic about his job — and my project. Not a great way to get a first contact.
The communication throughout the project was boilerplate, sporadic and a little underwhelming. The final scanned images were OK, but details were missed (like my request that they crop out the old white print edges/frames).
Finally, the website that they give you for 6 months was incredibly slow, pretty dated and clunky. I just downloaded everything off the thumb drive right away and uploaded them to Drop Box so that I could send them to family members.
Overall, it was just OK. I certainly didn't get any of that "family" feeling they talk about so much, nor did I feel like anyone really cared much about my project. And that's a shame, because it could have been so much better.”
“I liked the service, but was a bit more expensive than I really wanted to spend and it took quite a while to get everything back. Quality was good though and happy I did it, memories on film are priceless afterall.”
“It appears that our old analog movies were projected on a very small screen, such that the digital version has very low resolution. It becomes very pixelated on a screen any bigger than a laptop. This was not how families watch movies together, and we could have done this ourselves with consumer equipment. We expected something better.”

We do know that with older and fading films, they do depreciate over time and the good news is that with digitizing this stops that process. “Communication was adequate but that's it. The transcription of VHS tapes was disappointing. Most of these I had watched as recently as 5 years ago and they were pretty high quality. The results when digitized were only "better than nothing"”
“The conversion to video was good however the process was a bit awkward. Needing to go to a local shop to drop off and pick up didn't add any value and was a hassle. Also scheduling discussions with Everpresent was not smooth, a lot of back and forth trying to set times.”
“As with most antiquated technology we not able to view what is on it. I gave several floppy disks and a reel of 8mm film. On some of the floppy disks was code for an outdated flying game. This i did not want to be transferred. However everpresent did not make contact in order to discern if i wanted to spend money on such an item. For the several months it took to have this small job done i would have expected to hear from them to verify all the items indeed were to be transferred. If contact was to be made I would have instructed them not to transfer the game code which would have saved me money and them time. Instead I waited for several months only to have half of my items be useless. I will say the end product was good. The attention and service could use a touch up.”

“The production people are fine. The customer service reps are maddening. I have a significant number of photos that I want made into digital books. However, I can't understand how Everpresent is going to get me from A to Z on this. The website also says a designer will do a consultation with me but I am still not sure how that happens after three calls. I really would rather talk to someone who is going to solve my problem.”
