“The work done was of good quality. My main issue is the time it took to complete, and the style of communication used to inform me of progress. Overall it took twice as long as was stated at the start. At one point they said it would be delayed, but not by how much. All along I received emails about their process, such as now it was in the copying phase, then in the QA phase, and so forth, but none of these stated any kind of actual time estimates or time goals. I very much dislike this style of trying to bring the customer into the process; it's just a sales/marketing tactic that deflects from what the customer really wants to know. Everpresent is trying to avoid discussions of time, and in the end this is not a good strategy.”
“While the quality (less than perfect) was to be expected due to the age of the VHS tapes (some 35 years), I was disappointed that several segments from a single tape were recorded on multiple DVDs. Some in part and some in total. I expected a one for one correspondence between the 5 VHS tapes and the 5 DVDs”
“I was pleased with the outcome of our old films being digitized, but you need to work on response time returning calls and emails. Sometimes it would take up to a week to hear from anyone. Other than that we were very pleased.”

“The 3 and a half hour transfer of my video labeled Anniversary party was mostly movies that were taped from tv. Maybe I don't know enough of the business, but I thought it would have been nice to contact me and ask if I want the whole tape transferred? I could be completely wrong though and partial tape transfers are not acceptable, if so I'm sorry and this review shouldn't be published.”

You are correct - we have to digitize the entirety of the tapes to make sure we capture all of the content! We wouldn't want to miss any footage. “The quality of slide digitization done by Everpresent was very good, but it did take over 3 months months to do it. That was a lot longer than the 6 weeks they had originally said it should take.”
“Not sure what happened but half of the pictures the heads were cut off, now it was my fault since for the wedding album I meant to take the movie of the wedding not all the pics the from the wedding, exact same box. They were very good a keeping me informed as to where they were in the processes.”

Getting a bit pricey, and although I did not call to question it, I wonder what a $35 service fee (for what) on a total invoice of about $2000. I would think for that amount of payment, it is not in the spirit of treating customers fairly to have to pay a "service fee."”

“Generally speaking: Very good quality on finished product; a bit pricey, and I felt misled by the marketing.
Specifically: There was not one consistent contact person, and completion of product took longer and billing was more expensive and confusing than I was led to believe at the outset (was not a huge project by any means). The emails/communications seemed geared around assumptions that the customer has a strong level of knowledge about the technology involved.”

“The finished product is great. However your 75 dollar an hour to edit video is excessive. I wanted 30 seconds edited out and was told that I would be charged $75.00. I think the editing charge should be pro rated to reflect the actual time spent in the editing process and not an arbitrary flat fee regardless of how little time is spent on the process.”

“The results were pretty good. As for the customer service interaction, I have two suggestions:
- A little less detail on each email. The constant focus on all your processes and everything you do (after the initial explanation) takes up too much of my time.
- A bit better coordination in terms of pickup / delivery status.

“While the idea of Ever Present was an intriguing concept, the execution was not so good. The rep who helped me sounded sleepy and completely apathetic about his job — and my project. Not a great way to get a first contact.
The communication throughout the project was boilerplate, sporadic and a little underwhelming. The final scanned images were OK, but details were missed (like my request that they crop out the old white print edges/frames).
Finally, the website that they give you for 6 months was incredibly slow, pretty dated and clunky. I just downloaded everything off the thumb drive right away and uploaded them to Drop Box so that I could send them to family members.
Overall, it was just OK. I certainly didn't get any of that "family" feeling they talk about so much, nor did I feel like anyone really cared much about my project. And that's a shame, because it could have been so much better.”
