“Very helpful to make initial contact with tutors and "interview" them online. One or two piece of info stated about the tutors turned out to be inaccurate but overall a useful site which was straightforward to use.”

“We have been looking for a tutor to help our son, who has special needs (ADHD). Unlike some other sites, First Tutors allowed us to search for people who had strong previous experience with people of his age, rather than sifting through a series of profiles that left us none the wiser about their skills and a little perturbed by their use of English. The cost of an introduction is minimal compared to the benefit of finding the right person. I would give First Tutors a perfect score if their site was a bit more intuitive. Phrases like "Release Details" might mean pay for contact, or it might mean release the tutor from further discussion (i.e. reject them). A bit of tweaking would make the process of paying for an introduction to tutor(s) a lot easier.”

“FirstTutors has ranges of experienced tutors to choose from. The tutors that I have dealt with were also quick to respond to my query. However, the site did not make it clear that a fee of £19.99 is to be paid before details of the chosen tutor is passed to me”

“Simple service to obtain a tutor and decide for yourself based on past feedback. I was cautious to pick someone with lots of reviews and priced at the high end. I've been extremely satifisfied with my choice of tutor and found the website service easy to use and efficient. I'd use it again but won't rate higher due to (a) getting in touch cost was almost half an hours time (b) they don't seem to do much quality control themselves just centralise the search facility creating a marketplace for services.”

“I think it Is a good system but found number of automated replies a bit confusing and overwhelming. Because they all look the same I am never sure whether I have looked at it before or not. I also felt a bit threatened when it kept telling me things would happen in so many days!”
