“I found my mandolin tutor via FT. As I am new to London it was difficult to find a tutor via personal contacts. The process was smooth and fast. I could start my lesson in couple days.”

“The process was straight forward but best to choose a number of tutors if you need a swift response ( I selected one initially but had no response so lossed a week or so).”

“Charged £25.00 to get a tutors details! Had to go through the contact process before discovering the final charge. This cost should be split at the very least.”

Dear Mike, Thank you for your feedback. The intro fee is displayed on First Tutor's homepage, it is also displayed in the request next to the tutor´s hourly fee. The intro fee helps cover the costs of ID checks, reference collection, qualification verification etc. We don't charge tutors because we are not permitted by UK employment regulations (Organisations must not charge individuals seeking work) We wish you the best of luck with your new tutor. “Bob was very quick in resoonding to communication. He went the extra mile straight away regarding bagpipe tutoring books and websites as well as music to play on the radio to my 9 year old son, before lessons even started. From the start he showed how the musical scale worked and gave him a taste of playing a tune. Very approachable and professional. Has and gives a real sense of passion for bagpipes. Also will travel to your home and is prompt.”

“An easy to use service which is helpful to put you in touch with tutors but I am not sure to what extent the agency vet their tutors as our tutor was not experienced at structuring a lesson therefore it had limited value .”

Dear Kate, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your tutor has been a disappointment. As we did not hear from you we assumed everything was fine, but I have now emailed you instructions on how to register a complaint about a tutor. Please be assured we do carry out Photo ID checks, collect a minimum of two references and verify the tutors live in the UK. “I Am finding I am not getting no one to respond to me also I find a lot of people are online tutors this does not help me I need help one on one in person”

Dear Mark, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that tutors aren't getting back to you. We deactivate any tutors that fail to respond in a timely manner to tutees. I have sent those that are yet to respond message to do so as soon as possible. To maximise your chances of finding a tutor we do recommend you contact as many tutors as possible in your area.
