We bought this as a present for someone but we have not received any correspondence to say it has been delivered, so we are unsure if it arrived or not

I'm sorry to hear you didn't receive any kind of Shipping Confirmation email from us, I would advise you to also check your junk/spam folders because sometimes the email can end up in there. I ordered a care package for my friend who was in quarantine to cheer her up. I made sure the gift box contained no alcoholic items as she is a strict Muslim who does not drink or bring alcohol into the home. Unknown to me, Borough Box substituted an item for gin truffles. She messaged me to let me know and what was meant to be a nice gesture turned into a bit of a disaster. I contacted customer services and, although apologetic and said they would make note, they were more obsessed about the fact the item they substituted was 4 times the value of the original. They clearly missed the whole point that the item was not suitable for use - its like sending a vegan person meat or someone with a dairy intolerance cheese. There were some confusing email exchanges thereafter as the customer rep also misunderstood what was in the original order. They did however compensate by sending 1 singular chocolate bar to my friend for next day. This experience has made me hesitant from buying from Borough Box again.

This was my 1st time to use the site. I had messaged by email as soon as i noticed delivery address was MY address, when it should have been to a friend in Gloucester. Nobody replied even to just say sorry. I gad to pay for posting the cake from my house to my friend and so they arrived late. She said were good but due to extra expense to me in the end, & lateness, i am not happy nor would i recommend you.

Received a hamper from my daughter and read up about Borough Box. I decided to order another box because we liked the idea of supporting small companies and we had enjoyed the contents of the first hamper. The hamper had two identical packs of salami, both of which expired within a few days of being shipped. When I advised Borough Box, I was initially offered a £4 refund, being the cost of the salami. I will not be ordering again.

Unfortunately my experience was not great. Booking online was not at all easy. I tried on numerous occassions to order online and there were continual issues with a number of things - a gift code not working, error messages when I tried to order items, which I contacted the company about with screen shots and was not resolved. I just continued to try on different platforms and by chance it eventually worked. I also think a delivery fee for different items (that come from different suppliers) is a little steep / too expensive. With a delivery charge of £3.10 from each supplier, very quickly you have spent over £6 just on delivery. In the end I chose to select two items from the same supplier, which made sense but meant I was getting pretty much the same product - nougat, just a different flavour, whereas having nougat and something else would have been nice.

I have not received the meat box, I sent an email on Wednesday 28th July asking when I would hear about delivery but have not received a reply to that either so my impression is not a good one

Unfortunately, the gift was never delivered. There must be an issue with the delivery partners, as it kept getting scheduled and then they would move the date without notice which was over a week past the original intended delivery date. Additionally, the one time a delivery attempt was made no doorbell was rang and there were multiple people home and there is a business that answers the door as well which stated no doorbell was rang. They did issue a refund but we would have preferred an on-time delivery of the gift.

While the product offerings seem great, for the amount of money spent I would expect an on-time delivery. Unfortunately, the gift I ordered was over a week late. I was able to get a refund but it’s unfortunate that their product never made it to its central London destination.

Bought the gin and tonic subscription as a birthday present. I couldn’t hide my disappointment when me wife opened it. Pathetic for the price. Gins boring and simply not worth the price. Company claim to be “artisan foodies” but this is just dull and over priced.

Given that is was a birthday present, was disappointed 1. With lack of presentation impact which is expected with a hamper. Crushed white paper to fill spaces and a coloured sheet on top was all I received. Box itself was okay. 2. With lack of a card inside bearing the birthday message I provided. I found only the gift words printed in small font on the A4 delivery page.

Hi Clair, Thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback. I have just looked into your order and can see that you placed the order at 6:17pm on Wednesday 7th April. As this was past our cut off time for same day dispatch (2pm) your order was then processed and dispatched the following day - Thursday 8th April. Your order was sent on a Standard 1-3 days delivery service which you had selected and paid for. If you had selected our Next Day delivery service then it would have been delivered on Friday, this is just an extra £1. I just wanted to let you know for reference if you wish to order with us again in the future. Placed an order with Boroughbox on 16 March, still hasn’t been delivered and it’s nearly April! This was a birthday gift for my nephew which has been completely ruined!!! Very poor service!!!

I can see from our system that you placed your order on the evening of 16th March, your order was then processed for dispatch the following day on 17th March. Your order was sent on a Standard delivery service as you selected and paid for at the checkout, which is a 1-3 day delivery service. Your order was then delivered on 19th March. Purchased a gift box as a present for my girlfriend. Another gift hadn’t arrived so the speedy delivery was really a life saver. The downside was just about everything in the box was replaced with other items. The prosecco was a different brand and other items were replaced with dissimilar items (for example fudge was replaced with chocolate truffles). I know they said that some items may be replaced if need be: but there’s the odd thing being replaced and then there’s a box of different items from what’s advertised. Basically, a good service if you’re really in a jam, but quite expensive when you’re buying a box of mystery items as they replace anything and everything to fill the order.

As a marketplace for brokering access to small traders' wares BoroughBox might have value. As a service for delivering a gift hamper, it's about as effective as JustEat. I have bought or been the recipient of BoroughBox goods intended as gifts at a very specific date 4 times. They have all been delivered prematurely. One such hamper was intended to be opened on a specific date as a replacement for a company Christmas party, but it was delivered a whole two weeks in advance of the intended date and required refrigeration for a period where fridge space was at a premium. The hamper categories and option for specifying an exact delivery date imply a degree of control over delivery dates that boroughbox does not have. The only reason I'd have for using BoroughBox instead of an alternative retailer would be to have a hamper delivered on a specific date, such as a birthday or Mother's day etc. I have 1 outstanding delivery for a specific date, a success rate of between 20% and 0% is inadequate to provide that so I have no reason to use BoroughBox in future.

Hi Richard, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback on your order and experience with BoroughBox. I can see the order you have referred to on your review had a requested delivery date of 4th March 2021 and I can see from the courier tracking information that it was delivered on the date requested. I can see 2 other orders on our system that you've made with us, one of which had no requested delivery date, and the other is for a date in the future (27th March). May I ask which orders you are referring to that were delivered earlier than expected? It would be useful for us to know for us to be able to improve on our services so this doesn't occur again in the future :) Many thanks, BoroughBox
