Avoid at all costs! I placed an order and had been told that it would be delivered within 3 - 5 business days. I had no dispatch notification after 5 business days so I tried to contact the company. There was no response to my emails or to my voicemail, so I posted something on their Instagram page and someone finally responded to me on DM and they deleted my comment from their Instagram post so no one else would see it. They claimed to have never received my emails and asked me to get in touch directly with the supplier who apparently ran out of stock of the item I ordered. The supplier emailed me to tell me that they were "struggling" due to the large amount of Christmas orders. So basically, they're ill-equipped for sending gifts at the time of year when people need to order gifts most.

I ordered a hamper on 13th of December and readinng through delivery it said 3-5 days and therefore I expected it to be delivered before Christmas, the hamper was delivered on the 2nd of January! I had an email in response to my query saying any orders after the 13th of December would be unlikely to be delivered before Christmas that was on 28th of December. I emailed several times and left contact numbers so someone could ring me and update me. I understand that lockdown caused problems but some sort of update on a delivery date would have been nice! on a positive note the recipients are pleased with the contents and the box.

I keep getting messages that you are so busy and the covid virus has slowed you up. My order is small. Dated 15th December 2020. If it does not arrive by 6th January please stop it and refund money. Thank you.

The product range is great, however they let themselves down with slow delivery and poor communication.

I ordered 6 boxes on 10th Dec for delivery on 17th Dec (the day before our Zoom office party). None of them arrived. I'd emailed Borough Box but didn't get a reply. On 19th Dec I got some emails saying I could track the packages - but when I clicked on the link there was no information. 4 of the boxes were delivered on 23rd Dec - whcih was too late as everyone, myself included had already been to the shops to buy our Christmas food. So now we had double Christmas puddings, smoked salmon etc. Which was very disappointing. 2 orders - 1 of which was to the same address as an order was previously received, arrived on 31st Dec! 3 weeks after I placed the order. Who needs lots of nice treats just as we're starting diets in January - again very disappointing in terms of the timing and lack of communication from Borough Box. Had I known, I would have ordered something else.

My review does not concern the quality of your product but reflects my severe disappointment that you took my order for hampers on 9th December - you informed me that they had shipped on 19th although Yodel could not confirm that they had received them. Your communication was extremely poor and my order finally arrived on 31st. I realise that you had problems but am very unimpressed by the way you dealt with them

I am afraid I haven’t received the item yet. I ordered it before Xmas expecting it before Xmas. Sadly it didn’t arrive. It was then dispatched on the 24th, still waiting for delivery.

Ordered a Christmas gift on 10th December to be delivered directly to the recipient on 22nd December. On the 16th they sent a general email saying they were extremely busy and struggling to provide customer support, and on the 22nd they emailed to say that my order might not arrive before Christmas. In the end it didn't arrive until the 31st. They're processing refunds for the delivery charge but that doesn't really feel like it's good enough. It would be one thing if I'd ordered last minute but having pre-ordered nearly two weeks in advance, I'm pretty annoyed. I wonder how many orders they took after mine was placed and how many of those were delivered pre-Christmas? For what it's worth, I'm told the hamper was very tasty, but I don't think I could trust them again in the future.

On 10 December I ordered 2 Christmas present food hampers to be delivered on 18th December in London and Brighton. The first was delivered almost at once and sweated under the recipients’ Christmas tree until I heard about it and could advise them to move it to a cooler place; the second was delivered on 31 January, after complaining, missing Christmas altogether. I understand the special problems of scheduling in the pandemic year and carefully ordered well in advance, but not too much in advance to threaten food quality. I have enjoyed Borough Box produce before, but will not order again. I can’t risk it.

The order arrived weeks late which was frustrating but not the end of the world as it still arrived in time for Christmas. However the real let down was the package itself. It was in a cheap looking cardboard box and not at all like the advertised box which looked wooden. The individual bottles inside had been forced into slots with foam packaging whether they properly fit or not which meant the box arrived misshapen. Several of the labels had been put on wonky. The whole thing looked like it had been put together in a slapdash manner without any proper care or attention. I felt truly embarrassed to give this as a present especially as I thought it would be a special gift. I take no pleasure in writing bad reviews but there we are. I cannot give it the lowest mark as it did actually arrive and I assume the drinks were acceptable (it was a present so I cannot be sure). I would certainly hesitate before ordering from them again. The lesson here is don’t bite off more than you can chew and don’t accept orders you will have difficulty fulfilling!

The product is very good, but delivery and trying to sort out delivery issues is extremley poor. I ordered the hamper a few weeks before Christmas for friends who helped me nurse my wife who died of cancer, it was to be a special treat for them at Christmas, it did not arrive until 31/12/20. trying to get a delivery date was impossible.

Very spartan for the money. Considering it was meant to be gluten free, many products inadequately labelled.

Ordered two gifts on the 11th December, am so disappointed that both gifts have failed to arrive, it's now Jan 1st.

I was disappointed with the service I received. I ordered a hamper to be delivered to an elderly uncle for Christmas. When I placed the order, the website said it would take up to 7 working days. I placed the order on 12th December. I emailed on 21st to say that it hadn’t yet arrived. The hamper eventually arrived on 31st December. This is not good.

Didn't get back to me about tracking of parcel. No way to know whether it had been delivered without contacting recipients and spoiling the surprise.
