Terrible. Involved in accident in October. Someone hit me from behind and they wrote my car off. Currently 26th of January and Axa still haven’t paid me the settlement. Don’t respond to emails, make me promises on the phone and then go ‘radio silent’ on me when I chase them up. I’ve been without a useable car for 4 months now! Causing endless amounts of stress. Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Case still not settled and I have no idea what to do. Never use this company!!!

The other driver admitted full responsibility and agreed to pay after a crash. I registered claim with my insurers Axa. Axa failed to arrange salvage collection and valuation and not progressed my claim as they said they would. After 3 months of emails and phone calls to Axa my wrecked vehicle is now being charged storage costs waiting for Axa. Still no response from Axa.

Absolutely awful! A claim that should be so simple is anything but. I had an accident with a deer end of last year. Still waiting for them to agree settlement figure. Complete joke of a company

Had van cover of 9 years NCB which I took to axa 5 yrs ago. I renewed online I ticked the box saying no NCB as I wanted to put this on another vehicle. I got e mails asking me to mirror my NCB !!! I contacted them to explain got nowhere they even said could I tell them where my NCD was. Ok it was on the van you insured the last 5 years you know that. Irelevant as I am not using it anyway. To sum it up my policy is £276 . Because we cant transfer your NCD we will have to charge you , wait for it £438.0 extra. So you want me to pay you £438. For something I never asked for. Then you blame the computer. DONT TOUCH THIS BUNCH OF IMBECILES STEALTH PRACTICES. Insurance duly cancelled. I have and my partner or family never made a claim . More cancellations to come from my family . I am making complaints to every authority I can. Time we all stood up to these practices.

I haven't even used their service yet, and I wont be. I'm looking into health insurance and wanted to look around and genuinely get a feel for what my options where. I have several pre existing conditions and was explaining this to the dude that I was speaking to over the phone. Instead of telling me they don't cover pre existing issues at all, which is completely fine, I just wanted to know whether or not they did. Instead of a simple no and that this was the right company for me, he accused me to trying to commit fraud. I just wanted to know what they would and wouldn't cover but instead I was accused of conspiring to commit a crime. I'm absolutely appalled.

Terrible company. They mis-sold me a policy then when I had to make a claim refused to honour the agreement. Have used every trick in the book to not pay out and excuse even when it makes absolutely no logical sense. Have lied to me, abused me, insulted me, put me through years of hell because of their corporate greed. Gone to ombudsman but should not have to. Around 25k out. They should be jailed for fraud.

Dire, dire, dire. You couldn't pay me to reinsure with AXA.Hours and hours spent on the phone, most of which on hold, attempting to resolve issues after an accident. No interest in helping to recover losses. Only interested in payment for insurance and then no customer service.Avoid at all costs.I would happily pay double or treble their quote to be with an insurance company that cares.

Terrible customer service. Can only concur with others. Had a 2.5 hours wait to speak to someone and then they weren't the 'right department' and were downright rude. AVOID

No service. No help. No contact. After years of being Axa customer when my husband had an accident his claim wasnt processed. We struggled to contact anyone - tried phone ( hours on hold), email, facebook. Once managed to get to someone, they kept saying they will contact us about repair and courtesy car next day and they never did. So had to start again. Waited 2 weeks for courtesy car considering my husband needs a car to commute as workplace unaccessible otherwise. I was days before labour and needed a car in emergency. Do not use them as you will not get help when needed even if it saves you few pannies. We will never use Axa insurance again.

Have had an ongoing claim with AXA for the last 12 months, for a motor accident that was not my fault. It took seven months and a formal complaint before they took a full statement and eight months for a damage accessor to take a look at my car. Their complaints department have accepted that they have not provided an acceptable level of service and I have now had to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman. Don’t believe the good reviews, they are only from people who have not had to claim on their AXA insurance. This company is disgraceful, when you need to call upon the insurance service that you pay have paid for, with your hard earned money, they mess you about. In my case they have now just said they have closed my initial claim because the other party no longer disputed the liability and have advised that I will need to start a new claim to get my car repaired. I’ve spent over an hour on hold trying to get through to them, they don’t respond to emails and they will delay your claim in the hope you just go away. Avoid this company if you are expecting a reliable insurance provider!!

Totally useless company. 2 months waiting for a repair to my property following a break in. I eventually had an assessor arrive and the following day I was told it would take a further 6 weeks to carry out the repairs. I said this was not good enough and I needed it quicker. to date I have no response from either AXA or their agent. Just woefully poor service, if fact no service at all.

AXA is probably one of the most untrustworthy names in motor insurance. I’ve been a customer with AXA for a few years and any opportunity they get to shaft their customers they do it gladly. I’ve experienced this 1st hand, I am 36, Full Irish license and over 10yr no claims bonus was driving a 1.6 golf changed to a 3.0L jeep and they hit me with a charge of €400 extra bringing my premium to over €1200 and was told that’s all we can do for you! In the meanwhile, got a quote from AIB of €869.10, Guess who was underwriting the car insurance, that’s right it was our resident price gouging company AXA! When I pointed this out to them they had every excuse under the sun, it wasn’t the same cover etc. just be very wary of these Rip off merchants

If I could haven given a no star rating I would have.!! Got an excellent quote from Axa for my daughter who had just purchased her first car. Insured in her own name and myself as a named driver. Paid the deposit and the first months instalment only to receive a letter threatening that her insurance was going to be cancelled in ten days time if she did not provide proof of her driving experience which she had already emailed them! After a lot of hanging around on telephones, emailing and leaving messages to call her she finally got speaking to someone from Axa who told her that she needed to send them a letter from the Company’s insurance whom she’d been a named driver with stating that her name has been removed from this policy and additional proof stating she was the sole and exclusive driver of the vehicle. We were then informed as she was not the sole driver of the company vehicle( I also drive it) that her named experience 2 and half years was not acceptable and the policy premium was increasing by just over 700 pounds a year leaving it over 2000 pounds. Had this been the original quote I would have been happy enough but to spring this on her some six weeks later? And why not except the 2 and half years named experience. My daughter who has been a named driver on a company vehicle for 2 and a half years Apparently has no driver experience at all!! At the time of purchase of the insurance I explained exactly her named driving experience to the representative we spoke too and there was no hint at all that this would be unacceptable. I can not For the life of me understand why a named driver on a large company’s insurance policy would not be acceptable And why it took them So long to inform us of this. Bitterly disappointed with Axa and would certainly not recommend them to anyone. And will not be renewing the policy next year or considering them again!!

With over 92% of unsatisfied customers on trust pilot. A large company like AXA has been the worst at dragging their feet at paying out to those, including me who had to cancel their foreign trip due to the pandemic back in March. After doing everything to help out to support the claim by calling the hotels and airlines. AXA should frankly be stopped from providing insurance and be investigated by the financial ombudsman.

In my 64 years with many different investment accounts Equitable/AXA was the absolute worst. I had to be very disciplined and patient waiting for my contract to mature so I could withdraw my money and reinvest with professionals. And then the "Withdrawal Fee" to have a check written for my own money was astronomical! My money with AXA earned 1.079% LESS than money I had in CDs during the same period. Stay away from Equitable/AXA! Caveat emptor!!

They are expensive and I didn’t find my experience with them a good one, and that was without making any claims. So no I wouldn’t recommend them.
