The process of getting bike insurance with Bennetts was simple enough. Nothing special about it - it's par for the course nowadays as it should be.Like for like cover is not the cheapest with Bennetts. This is very disappointing considering they're supposed to be bike specialists.

Phoned up as insurance had not been continued automatically as card had expired. Information from operator was quite abrupt although information was corrected. Ended up paying more than my renewal despite only a few days had passed between renewal date and when insurance was taken out.

I am now with a new insurance provider and feel a little annoyed that Bennetts have still not provided my new company with my no claims discount proof.please can you get this sorted out as soon as possible..thanks. Apart from that I've been very happy with Bennetts !

I got a quote on a comparison website which included a aftermarket end can that did not affect my price. I rang them up to go ahead with the quote but then remembered I had fitted a set of R&G crash bungs to protect the bike. the quote then went up £20.00!?!? I could of taken the bungs of and gone elsewhere and got fully comp cheaper but could not be bothered. This to me makes no sense. But I will look into this when it's time to renew next year as I rarely stick with the same insurance brokers. The people on the phone were helpfull no their fault.

Great price and additional coverage but the process of changing the insure bike has to be better. The cost to change over the phone was ridiculous and had a £35 admin fee so had to go and arrange a new policy lower cost than the quoted upgrade price then call back to cancel the old policy because if I cancelled the old policy beforehand that would have incurred a £50 cancellation fee. Too convoluted should just be change the reg to this and pay the difference.

Good renewal price. However they obviously do not value current customers. After browsing their website I decided I wanted to add extra cover for helmet leathers etc.The website offered 2 deals. After choosing the one I wanted I was told over the phone "This is for NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY you will have to purchase the more expensive deal"...Even though there was no mention of this on the web site. The whole "NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY" really grates on me when you have been a customer with them for years.

Things you should know:Good points:Telephone support is good and you are able to get through to a person who are always helpful.Aggressive on price Bad points:You might be lucky and get a new policy through the post where you have been charged and no notification by email has come especially when the bike was sold. The login in for exclusives does not work with a a lot of browsers and there are no instructions on what you can and cannot put in when registering online. Telephone support cannot help you and you do not get notified how to do it when you ask them call back and or email details.

Was pleased to get what I thought was a good priced renewal quote from Bennettspaid immediately and then recieved a much cheaper quote (£50 cheaper)via MCN for the same cover. That was my only disappointment which was of course down to me for not going on a comparison site.To get the most competitive price year on year you must not automatically renew with your current insurer. So somewhat disappointed.

The service and bennefits are brilliant. The only downside I had is that my renewal was set to auto renew for double the price of last year. Once I called the renewal was re ran and it was cheaper than last year. It seems like Bennetts were Tryingg to catch people out that don't check renewal prices.

Changing to a new bike whilst still having the old one (up for sale & therefore needing an overlap of No Claims Bonus) was much more difficult than anticipated & seemed new to the agent. I've done similar with my car in a couple of minutes but this took ages!

I will be staying with Bennett's for yet another year as they stay very competitive with a good reputation.this being good sorry to say upon renewal I did get through to the right department quickly I struggled to understand the renewals advisors accent so did rely on checking through my emailed policy to make sure all ok.it wasn't as easy and smooth as before.regards John.

I had two bikes on one policy with Bennetts (a 2003 Triumph Bonneville and a 2007 Honda CBF 1000). I'm changing the Honda for a new Triumph Tiger 800 XRX - a new model this year. Because the underwriters (Equity Red Star don't have the new bike on their system (it was only launched 6 months ago!) I had to take the Honda off the existing policy (with a paltry refund) and start a new policy for the new bike with Aviva. Due to riming I have had to start with zero no claims bonus with Aviva also in order to get the legal assistance gear cover and breakdown cover (which I have on my existing policy) I was invited to pay yet another £55I accept that this is probably my fault - after all who would want to buy a bike so soon after launch! I don't have a lot pf previous experience in insuring bikes (I had a very long break in my motorcycling) but plenty of experience in insuring cars so this all came as an expensive surprise to me.On a positive note the nice lady at Bennetts did give me some good advice about what to do when my original policy comes up for renewal in October - I hope that I will be able to give a better review then but right now I have more than 200 reasons to be unhappy with the motorcycle insurance business.

I looked around on comparison sites and couldn't find anything cheaper than my insurance renewal . Shame about the high hcompulsory and voluntary access costs and the fact that leather and helmet cover does not cover the real cost of rebuying the actual kit. Otherwise it was a fair purchase.

This is a difficult review for me as initially my review would have been very poor. My Wife kindly bought me a brand new scooter a Yamaha Tricity 125cc let me say right at the start that this bike has three wheels two at the front one at the back like the Piaggio MP3 range. I got a good online quote for a Bennetts policy so I rang and spoke to a gentleman who after taking all my details going through all the spiel that insurance people have to go through he then hesitated and put me on hold came back about three minutes later to tell me my scooter although learner legal had been deemed by some mysterious department as needing a full licence as it was a 'Trike' I tried to explain that trikes had two wheels in the back and mine were at the front I even quoted from Bennett's own book which defined a bike like mine as a motorcycle but he was having none of it by then I had been on my cordless phone so long the battery gave out. This was when my luck changed I rang back and spoke to a fabulous lady called Kelly I explained what had happened and we both checked the Bennetts web site for their own definitions and she got me insured straight away. I worry that I can have two different experiences from the same company and feel its a gamble on who you get through to. Thank you Kelly you're a marvel!!! not so sure about the company though.

Call waiting time was very long which which wasn't ideal. Line quality wasn't great (very quiet). On a positive note though. The chap I dealt with was good. Price was attractive.

Best offer for fully comp and free recovery. Don't understand why foreign insurance is compulsory. I'm sure cost could be considerably reduced without this.

I think the insurance is a good price. However I was disappointed that we could not pay monthly through my wife's bank account which you happily took a full years payment from!! I understand your meaning behind it but you sent me a letter saying you were going to do this what would have happened if my wife and I were no longer together and you'd took the money from her account?? I do not have a bank account and haven't for a very long time and being out of work the full payment has wiped us out this week.... I think the company policies need to be reviewed giving more options..

Been with Bennetts now for a second time round. Got a new policy on an S1000XR however I had to phone back 3 times before they could get the policy correct and they take ages to answer the phones. First time they got my address wrong my street name twice which is probably not the end of the world. Then the value of the bike was £10000 less than what I told them. Then the purchase date said Apr 2012 for a brand new bike on a 15 plate my previous bike I had with them was purchased in April 2012. Phoned them again then they said the premium would increase now because the underwriter gives discount on how long you have had the bike is it not common sense a brand new bike on a 15 plate could not have been purchased in 2012 :) ... They did scrap the £40 increase in the end though. They were also not the cheapest but since I had been with them already it just saved a bit of hassle .. or maybe not !
