It must be my age (80+) and, having a pace-maker but with an advanced driver qualification and NO accidents (except someone running into the back of me - no claim on my insurance) this years premium was a lot higher than previous. My options were a lower premium with high XS' or, vice versa. Naturally travelling less miles (3 - 4000) I opted for the former with heightened awareness of what is around me!

My car insurance was due for renewal, I was sent the renewal quote through by email, I was absolutely shell shocked at the increase and replied that I would not be going ahead (a) because of the very steep increase, even though we’d never made a claim and (b) because I always, always, always compare car insurance prices. This all happened whilst we were away in NZ, so I was going to sort it all out on my return which was, very extended, by 2 weeks, due to transiting through Dubai. On my return I found that my insurance had indeed been renewed by Budget Insurance!! Hence my bad review!!!!!

That don’t listen when you cancel your policy and proceed to take money for the following year even though the policy was cancelled and I know longer have a car praying on the elderly will never use this company again all the stress they have caused and then wanted me to pay £30 admin fee to get my money back when they had two weeks notice not to take it out and for some reason the policy had gone on to auto renewal which I never do NEVER USE

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I took out an insurance with this company, but the call handler I spoke to, would not accept my direct debit date, resulting in a non payment. I called back, spoke to a lady , another call handler, said yes, I can change your direct debit and you have 5 to 10 days to pay an instalment . 2 days later , I find my insurance was cancelled. They are now charging £130 plus as THEY cancelled the policy. I've just had a very lengthy conversation with a call handler, who said I owed this money. I said but you are telling me one thing and the other call handler is telling me the opposite ! I rang on the 29th of December to change my direct debit and it was done and as I said given 5 to 10 days to pay that instalment. 2nd of January , my policy was cancelled !! My husband has paid the £130 plus , but my point is , I had 2 different call handlers telling me two different things, they would not accept they were at fault , did I get a refund? No, the call handler put the phone down, so , would I deal or recommend this insurance company ? My advice is , steer clear, pay a little bit more and get a better company !

Unfortunately the payment card I had stored with Budget had expired without me realising it. When annual renewal came the following year, payment was rejected & Budget charged me £20 when I re-entered my new card the same day. There is no justification for charging such a high fee, & not giving a reasonable opportunity to provide a new payment method. I will not be using this company again.

Terrible insurance company. Awful “customer service” lacking basic knowledge, long hold times to query information and rude staff. Extra and hidden charges. Too late to change but will never use again!

Your operative made a mistake when she took down the registration of the vehicle which ran into the back of my car on 17 July. I haven’t had any correspondence from Budget or a return call, or what was Liverpool and Victoria, the underwriter to date. I have called both many time to try to resolve this mistake. And my 12 year old Corsa wasn’t worth the cost of £4,300 to repair the bodywork. Still waiting for an update!

I tried to rectify a mistake I made and was all sorted on my first call so I thought. Numerous calls, emails and now a complaint letter to Budget. Loads of calls hours a different customer service agents and still a mess..

Made a request for proof of no claims bonus. Budget required me to send proof of previous no claims bonus with another insurance company - which I did. Budget then sent me their maximum "Company" proof of no claims bonus - which is 9 years. My request was for the full 14 years of no claims bonus - which I currently have on my vehicle. Budget it appears will not honour my request. Basically robbing me of 5 years no claims bonus.
