I am writing to you in relation to my recent car insurance policy that was cancelled, without any notice. Firstly I contacted you via your online chat option asking to change my payment date until the last day of the month as I was struggling to afford paying the policy on the 14th, this was confirmed by your online assistant who confirmed both payments were going to come out on the 30th as agreed, a letter arrived in the post stating that the policy had been changed. Prior to this I received a letter in the post stating that when you renewed my insurance policy you did not take my NCD into consideration, when I phone the advisor told me this was a mistake and it hadn’t happened, so why was two letters sent apologizing? This is just the start of the awful service I have received from this company. Secondly I received a letter dated the 11/01/2020 which I did not receive until the 17/01/2020 stating you had cancelled my insurance policy, I was driving around with no insurance policy for over a week no one contacted me via a phone call, because after changing my number with you numerous times you had the wrong number on file, I also received no email notification. When I managed to get hold of one of your company representatives on the 19/01/2020 they showed no compassion towards what had happened told me he would look into it but it would not be resolved today and there was no guarantee that the policy would be reinstated. When I asked him what I was suppose to do in relation to the vehicle currently being uninsured his response was don’t drive! This is absolutely ridiculous that nothing could be done on that date, I had been driving around uninsured for over 1 week, I have had my nephews in the vehicle two young children, I have had to take numerous trips to the hospital to take my disabled nan, what would have happened if I had an accident with anyone in the vehicle? I could have been arrested for driving without insurance. Thirdly I received a phone call on Monday 20/01/2020 saying that they was sorry but there had been a mistake on there behalf and they had reinstated my policy, by this time I had to find a new insurer on the 19/01/2020 I had to pay a deposit of £145 because of a mistake made by your company, this has caused massive amounts of stress and anxiety. Not only have I had to pay to take out a new policy which I could not really afford to pay this has resulted in me being unable to make other payments this month, at the end of the phone call the advisor had the cheek to say to me well at least now it won’t show on your insurance as cancelled by the insurer!! I’m sorry this just is not good enough!! There is so many issues on social media about uninsured drivers and so many articles in the paper, your a multi million pound company and you have caused the issue of me being uninsured due to the lack of communication and professionalism of your staff. A simple sorry is just not good enough, I believe due to the stress and anxiety this has caused me I should be compensated.

Avoid buying Home Emergency from Churchill My experience in buying home insurance from Churchill has been fine. However please be advised that if you buy Home Emergency from them this is provided by CET which has proved an absolute nightmare! Churchill appear to have no link with the company afterwards ie in terms of accountability / monitoring service standards and I have had an extremely poor experience. Despite logging a complaint early December with CET, when it took days to fix my heating/boiler problem, I've heard nothing back. It wasn't fixed properly as I kept having problems and finally went off again last week and I'm still without heating/hot water and no confirmation of timescale when it will be fixed.

Had a policy running for a couple of months. Changed my car and tried to migrate the policy over, which is something Churchill say can be done. However, I was the. Told I’d need to start a new policy, which was untrue. All so they could make more money from me.

A word of warning, do not insure with Churchill. i insured through a comparrison website, now i do not keep to one insurance company, i go with the cheepest every year, so i insured my car with another company, two weeks before my insurance ended, guess what. i get a letter from churchill. they tried to lift money out of my account for this years insurance, without my permission, luckily my bank declined, they had audacity to take it for granted i was going to insure with them again, sent policy, now they are trying to charge me for cancelling my insurance, that i had not accepted in the first place,

I was pulled over for no insurance after mistaking insuring the wrong car (my partners) which is more expensive to insure for me being a new driver. Police understood the mistake and suggested I receive a letter of indemnity once I reinsured the correct car road side. (without this letter I get 6 points and a 300£ fine) explained everything to them which the staff were very understanding but the underwriters wouldn't budge on the matter because its not their mistake. Which I understand totally. But if I'm paying the higher premium car surely they could honor what I'm asking to send a letter understanding the mistake and willing to cover the period of no insurance. When it comes customer service. They've got me 6 points and a 300£fine. Do with that what you will.

Excellent to get you to ensure your car with them. once accident happened, it is your fault or try to settle with other insurance company without putting any effort. I asked what allegation the other company has they said we have not received yet and they want to settle on 50% ? Accident happened in April and now in December and no action. There was a camera footage as evidence. They did not chase to get the footage in spite of mentioning, it is so important. Now, they said they have the right to decide for the case to be settled in a partial fault and if I am not happy I need to raise a case to the court by myself!!!. No idea is that possible... please advise!

Avoid at all costs!! They cancelled our insurance randomly, told us it was our fault (We had no claims, no issues whatsoever) and that if we wanted to take our a new policy for our Range Rover it would go from the original £580 up to £950 for the year!! Pathetic company!

Well, what to say as still shocked by Churchill's response to claim. Unfortunately, my husband slipped whilst getting into the bath, he damaged his head, arm and has 8 stitches in his heel of his foot which went through the side of the bath. Churchill have offered to patch the bath and tile damage. Anyone knows that the strength would be gone from the bath, we were advised by 2 builders one who patched the hole for us as a temporary repair, as only bathroom we have that not to use the bath too much as it could collapse. Really does make you think about insurance, would they want that repair in their house, I don't think so. If anyone is looking to use this Churchill, just remember they want to use the cheapest options to sort problems out, in my case, I will pay and get the job done properly and look to find a decent insurance company.

Had to notify them of a change of address for car insurance to a safer area in a more secure coded parking area. The premium went up and a admin charge of over £20.00 was made. I inquired about cancellation, as they were now more expensive than other providers. Fee £50.00 to cancel, so had me over a barrel. Then the audacity to try and sell me home insurance! Churchill, you are shysters. Never again.

took the breakdown cover but when they inspected our boiler they asked for all previous service reports which I am sure they know no one keeps so they have weaselled their way out of helping . I am never going to use them again - the engineer told us this was their way of getting out of helping so its obviously a tactic they frequently use don't use their insurance they will tryand worm out of helping you

Unfair cancellation fee. When I sold my car halfway through the policy period, Churchill charged me the full value of the rest of the policy. Their small print does warn you of this, but it's completely unreasonable. Especially when customers who pay annually receive a refund if they cancel the policy. I wrote a letter of complaint. No reply after 3 months. They sent the debt collectors. Not Impressed.

Purchased van insurance with Churchill via Comparethemarket in early may. Somehow wrong registration on insurance and stopped by police Ring Churchill and they’ve got no record of me Turns out they sold me on to a Broker named Brightside who in turn sold me on to insurer NIG. NIG are impossible to contact, Brightside say they are just a broker and Churchill say it’s nothing to do with them ????? Churchill won’t even accept a complaint even though it says Churchill at the top of the insurance certificate. They just pass you to Brightside who say they’re just a Broker. Absolutely disgraceful in all aspects, if I’d wanted to buy a policy from NIG I’m pretty sure I could have without this lot taking a cut. In short they’re happy to take the premium but that’s it, you’re on your own . Avoid.
