It is a useless company and SCAM, try to claim an accident that it wasn't my fault in Spain. They say that I need a "Green Card" even after they sent me an email saying that it wasn't necessary after the 31st December and a link to it (https://u-k-insurance.co.uk/eugreencard.html). Also, government information says it is not needed!!! I wasted 90 minutes on the phone, and each department was saying different things! Won't recommend it at all!!

If you want to be held hostage by a company, please go with them. In order to make changes to my policy, I called and was delivered a quote DOUBLE what I was previously paying. This was initially based on the second driver and, when asked to remove that, was then stated it was the new postcode. My partner is with Aviva and her insurance went DOWN based on the new address. Because I didn't want to pay double the amount, I was charged a £58 cancellation fee. So you either go with whatever number they give you (which went from £33 to £61) or need to pay them if you don't agree to that amount. What a disgrace of a company. Complete and total robbery. Aviva quote -- £34. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY.

DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE YET ANOTHER UPDATE! No further on with work despite the usual public show of “contact us directly to sort out”. And now to add insult to injury they have auto renewed my parents policy when they were told by them AND me in writing not to!!! At the end of my tether with them and STILL my parents are forced to live in a shell of a kitchen with no flooring!!!! UPDATE - after 1 week I have still not had even the courtesy of a reply yet alone had any progress on the work. My parents are still living in a shell of a kitchen with no idea if or when the work will be completed. I would call it shocking customer service however as customer service is non-existent this would be flattering them. DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE! The majority of positive reviews relate to price and/or service when taking out a policy. JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CLAIM!!! See the message I have had to send to them to try and get my parents claim sorted. PS NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE! “ Back in July my parents gave permission to Churchills for me to discuss their ongoing claim with you should this be required. I am afraid to say that I now need to contact you to ask what is going on? This claim has been ongoing since June and has been handled appallingly! They have been left for weeks in a shell of a kitchen with basic utilities and promises of visits that don't happen. At the request of my parents I travelled to ####### last weekend to take a look at the progress as the floor was meant to be screeded on Friday 18th. This did not happen as when the contractor turned up he said he couldn't do the work as the flooring contained asbestos. Why hadn't this been picked up OR communicated by the surveyor??? This was after my parents, both in their late 70's and my father registered disabled had moved tables and chairs out of the kitchen area as they were asked to have the area clear ready to work. It is an absolute disgrace! The situation now is they are living in a shell of a kitchen not being able to cook or clean properly and they have a pile of rubbish including stacks of old flooring in the garden which the contractors have failed to take with them. I could further catalogue the incompetent and disgraceful way this 4 month claim has been mishandled however I will save this for Twitter and as many review sites I can post this debacle on to save any other would be customers being put through such a shoddy service. What I want from you is a full timetable of what is going to happen, and when IN WRITING and I want it adhered to. This needs to be sorted now as I feel that the contractors are definitely taking advantage of my parents easy going nature, one thing I didn't inherit from them. One final point. I find it ironic that the communication from both Churchills and the contractors has been woeful yet they are regularly being contacted to renew their policy. Seems to me that your customer service is great when taking money, not so good should you have a claim. I don't want them contacted again asking them to renew! Please sort this mess out!” PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE GRIEF AND GO ELSEWHERE!

Be careful. They are nice until you need to make a claim and then they will leave you wondering why you bothered to pay for non-existent cover. Don’t touch them with a barge pole! Shameful.

They took my car for repair front end to Nationwide Repairs which was fine (accident was my/my wife's fault). After getting the car back and hearing some banging noise from the front I opened up the hood and realised the engine mount was broken. I reported to the garage, they instantly booked the car back and collected it for inspection. Later I got a call saying that the estimator guy told them that it is too far at the back and couldn't have happen during the accident (the whole front bumber and crach cans were changed). So obviously wasn't a "small" shock there. We are talking about a 2 years old car and a fresh shiny engine mount brakage. Totally dissapointed and angry.

Great until you need to make a claim and then ... make it as difficult as possible ... you get what you pay for ... don’t use them if you ever think you’ll need them because they won’t be there.

Churchill are amazing until you need to make a claim. Let’s hope you never do because they will never honour their end of the bargain. They make it so hard to submit a claim or admit liability that it’s almost pointless having insurance. Pay more get more.

If you are BAME be aware Churchill racially profile customers. People of minorities be aware when it comes to processing your claims they deliberately refrain from fixing your car, mess you around for days, stop offering all the facilities you already paid for and breach their own contract to the point even making complaint wont help, they keep you in the limbo forever. Churchill is a white insurance company for white people, stay away from them and do not give them your money as they are one of the most racist organisations I have ever dealt with.

This is very bad company. Charging ridiculously high fee when you cancel policy due to selling your car. I have never experience this. Its very hard to actually in touch with them. Will never insure anything with them.

My brother had car insurance with Churchill. Two months after starting the Policy, Churchill sent him a letter threatening to cancel his policy with three working days notice , due to an innocent error when completing the application. My brother has been unable to receive the letter due to contracting covid19 and being at his parents address during lockdown. Churchill made no attempt to contact him in another way before cancelling his policy...despite having his telephone number and email address. He was informed that his policy was cancelled by a police officer who issued him with 6 points on his liscence. To add insult to injury, when my brother contacted Churchill, they refused to engage with him on the matter and gave him a complaints procedure that he was told would take approx 6 weeks. In the meanwhile, due to cancelled policy (with no notice recieved), he is unable to get another insurance policy and therefore unable to work. Thanks Churchill.

Both my wife and I have had policies with Churchill over the last three years and we have both suffered appalling levels of customer service in relation to claims. In my wifes case she was told that her accident had been settled. She then called to discuss a renewal as the price had risen significantly only to discover that the claim was still outstanding 18 months after the initial incident. She has received no contact or updates what so ever from the claims dept in the last 14 months. My case unfortunately also resulted from a claim, clearly there is a theme here. Mine was much more straightforward and just centred on atrocious customer service. I complained and the majority of my issues weren't even addressed by the complaints dept. When I pointed this out and asked for the complaint to be escalated and dealt with properly I was told that there wasn't an escalation process? It would seem that unfortunately Churchill falls into the category of one of these insurance companies that is very eager to take your money but in the unfortunate event that you need to make a claim you will experience staff who are incompetent, incapable of providing even basic levels of customer service and couldn't care less when you have the audacity to complain. Needless to say we didn't bother complaining about my wifes claim we just cancelled both policies and took our business elsewhere. My advice is to steer well clear of Churchill.

Only to received my car back from thier garage (DLG) with more fault/damages then when it went off for repairs. They are now refusing to solve the issue they caused! this has left with no potion to leave this company!

I am writing to you in relation to my recent car insurance policy that was cancelled, without any notice. Firstly I contacted you via your online chat option asking to change my payment date until the last day of the month as I was struggling to afford paying the policy on the 14th, this was confirmed by your online assistant who confirmed both payments were going to come out on the 30th as agreed, a letter arrived in the post stating that the policy had been changed. Prior to this I received a letter in the post stating that when you renewed my insurance policy you did not take my NCD into consideration, when I phone the advisor told me this was a mistake and it hadn’t happened, so why was two letters sent apologizing? This is just the start of the awful service I have received from this company. Secondly I received a letter dated the 11/01/2020 which I did not receive until the 17/01/2020 stating you had cancelled my insurance policy, I was driving around with no insurance policy for over a week no one contacted me via a phone call, because after changing my number with you numerous times you had the wrong number on file, I also received no email notification. When I managed to get hold of one of your company representatives on the 19/01/2020 they showed no compassion towards what had happened told me he would look into it but it would not be resolved today and there was no guarantee that the policy would be reinstated. When I asked him what I was suppose to do in relation to the vehicle currently being uninsured his response was don’t drive! This is absolutely ridiculous that nothing could be done on that date, I had been driving around uninsured for over 1 week, I have had my nephews in the vehicle two young children, I have had to take numerous trips to the hospital to take my disabled nan, what would have happened if I had an accident with anyone in the vehicle? I could have been arrested for driving without insurance. Thirdly I received a phone call on Monday 20/01/2020 saying that they was sorry but there had been a mistake on there behalf and they had reinstated my policy, by this time I had to find a new insurer on the 19/01/2020 I had to pay a deposit of £145 because of a mistake made by your company, this has caused massive amounts of stress and anxiety. Not only have I had to pay to take out a new policy which I could not really afford to pay this has resulted in me being unable to make other payments this month, at the end of the phone call the advisor had the cheek to say to me well at least now it won’t show on your insurance as cancelled by the insurer!! I’m sorry this just is not good enough!! There is so many issues on social media about uninsured drivers and so many articles in the paper, your a multi million pound company and you have caused the issue of me being uninsured due to the lack of communication and professionalism of your staff. A simple sorry is just not good enough, I believe due to the stress and anxiety this has caused me I should be compensated.

Avoid buying Home Emergency from Churchill My experience in buying home insurance from Churchill has been fine. However please be advised that if you buy Home Emergency from them this is provided by CET which has proved an absolute nightmare! Churchill appear to have no link with the company afterwards ie in terms of accountability / monitoring service standards and I have had an extremely poor experience. Despite logging a complaint early December with CET, when it took days to fix my heating/boiler problem, I've heard nothing back. It wasn't fixed properly as I kept having problems and finally went off again last week and I'm still without heating/hot water and no confirmation of timescale when it will be fixed.
