I tried to get a quote with my previous years smart miles score for this years car insurance but without the black box. They said they would put me through to someone to check that, got onto the phone with a man who said he would charge me ?25 to do a new quote, not understanding I was trying to use my previous smart miles score. I was either put through to the wrong people or they had no idea how to do that which seems a bit odd as of course people will want to take the black box off their car at some point. My insurance went up by ?350 also as I changed my address and I was not told until I had paid ?40 to change this how much the new renewal price would be because 'they could not tell me'. The smart miles box in general is not bad however if you wish to drive after 10pm (which is not unheard of around my old address as busses stop at 8pm and I would have to pick family up from work), prepare for your score to plummet. You can speed for an hour and your score would only go down slightly, drive 5 minutes past 10pm , you've lost about 60 on your 'driving at night' score and your overall will go down about about 10 points at least due to this. Some people have to drive after 10pm and if the scoring system should work with this then please do not chastise someones score so much due to this.

Hello,? I'm sorry to hear about the experience you had when trying to purchase a policy with our smartmiles team and I hope that you have since been able to find a competitive price that you're happy with. We appreciate the frustration surrounding the measuring variable concerning driving after 10pm and we do our utmost to disclose this as one of the restrictions on the policy at the point of purchase in the hope that customers will be aware and not purchase the policy if it would be an issue. At first I did regret getting a black box and heard rumours that if you drove at night they would cancel and various other things. To be honest I've had no problems at all. The first year my insurance was ?1250 and the second year was ?550 I couldn't be happier. I don't know how the braking works though, I am in 10 out of 100 and I live in Bradford where everyone pulls out on you. Maybe if they looked at where you live that would be good.

Excellent customer service, spoke with a person who was very helpful. Cheapest insurance quote by far, couldn?t be beaten. 2nd year with Smartmiles.

you only know how good a insurance company is when you make a claim." Not in this case. I rang to confirm the quote and insurance. Twice they couldn't do it. When I rang a third time the quote had gone up by 96 pounds. I was suppose to have a box fitted they failed too turn up twice. When they came and fitted the box it damaged my battery and wasn't working. It took them three attempts to get it correct costing me time. I made a complaint. Heard no more from it. I told them I would never use them again. I looked in my account last week and they had taken the money for this years insurance without consent and no mail from them as requested. I advised them at the start the only way to contact me was by post and text. This never happened. Their staff are rude. I had request my no claims bonus three times. They are a joke living on a different planet. waste of space. They now wont 90 pound to remove the box. lol

With the smart miles I was able to save a lot of money on my insurance as you promised. You also monitored my driving which helped me keep myself in check regarding how I drive!!! Welldone Team!!!

My black box doesn't really effect my driving at all. The box is more lenient than expected which is a good sign.

Service is great, been with smart miles two years and this is my second renewal. Love the unlimited mileage feature after the first year. They make finding insurance so affordable
