“Decided to increase my premium by ?500 despite my no claims bonus increasing by a year, main driver turning 21 and a satisfactory driving (black box) score. Customer service is awful - they charge you if you wish to make changes to the account over the phone! Had to make 3 phone calls to cancel my plan and stop it from renewing for another. Found a far cheaper, better run competitor who offers a better service at a cheaper price - shop around!”

“I found Hastings to be an amazing insurance for 1st time drivers. I found that was able to developer my way of driving without being penalised. Although I did have some issues with the cording of my uses of braking but hey Not everything?s perfect”

“Makes expensive insurance more reasonable; however restrictive as to when you can drive; and does not allow for how others drive; eg braking due to others pushing in front. will be expensive to swap over to next vehicle or if I want to have the device removed.”

“After a year and a final drivers rating of 93, my annual premium has gone from ?1,200 to ?560, and I now only pay ?58 per month compared to the ?110 I was paying last year. As it?s only the second year I?ve held my license, this is a considerably low monthly payment for car insurance. I found the driving app really helpful, it picked up on my harsh braking initially and more score in this area became quite low, however as time went on and I no longer had this problem (just took time to get used to the brakes!), the score then went back to 100. I also had someone drive into the back of me in April and everything was handled very smoothly with minimal stress to myself. The only downside has been the 10pm curfew. Definitely recommend for first time drivers.”

“They quoted me a good price for my car insurance and it had all the cover I needed. They also quoted me a very good renewal price.”

“This was a renewal with a black box. I received the renewal quote which was a good price however there was no explanation of how the data from the box influenced the price or suggestions of areas to improve that may influence the quote further. This was most disappointing.”
