avoid and go elsewhere! After being a loyal member for 8 years with zero claims or issues, motorcycle direct are charging me 110 pounds for canceling insurance, im going to be needing insurance for a new bike soon i told them and they didnt acknowledge my 8 years loyalty at all just vividly defending their right to take 110 pounds from me. do not feel like a respected customer whatsoever a lot of phone calls and hassle upon trying to cancel!

I needed to insure my new bike before going to collect it at the dealer shop. It took me 4 hours to sort it out. After entering all the details on the webpage I could not complete the deal because the bike could not be found or the model entered. Using a broker I found a deal but could not complete payment and finally you send message that the details entered were not satisfying. By the way I have been insuring my previous bike with you for years prior to this and it was the same bike model as the new one!!! I had no choice but to call you. Run out of money as I am a pay as you go customer and 10 pounds for ten minutes were not enough. The operator was clearly wasting time asking me the same questions. When I was about to pay over the phone the connection was cut off. No one called me back despite the fact the man behind the phone just read my contact details to me (to put it in perspective i pay 5£ in mobile bills every 4 months!!!). I finally found a different tel number on the brocker's page I was using. Found a quote that suited me that went up by over 100£ as I was on the phone with one of your staff. He then contacted some senior figures to approve the quote and the deal was back on the table. Shocking! Even when you are willing to pay and close a deal with you, your company seems to make things harder on purpose. I was about to leave and get a quote somewhere else even with products of inferior quality just out of sheer frustration and to just go and collect my bike. I was also offered a coupon towards my renewal because i completed a survey. The coupon arrived two days after closing the deal and cannot use it now.Lol. Lucky you get 2 stars from me after my ordeal.

Rather disappointed. Apparently due to a transposed digit in my account number, which would be odd as it auto fills, it was nescessary to cancel my policy even though i called as soon as I got the message to do so. Currently unaware if i am insured or not because i have a cancellation letter and no further communication. Rather sad really.

Prices increased drastically every time I created a different quote with slight changes. The operator on the call seemed not greatly knowledgeable answering “I don’t know” to most of my questions.

Some one tried to steal my bike. And the insurance company did not want to pay out due to a technicality. Had to take out another insurance policy to cover my self. Had 2 months left on old policy (I always pay in full). Sie not get any refund from old policey. Was only £60 but i feel short changed. Will be looking to change brokers next year. During the hole process was 9n hold for 26min. Then 25 mins and the 10mins while trying to sort it all out.. phone bill has cost me approx £15 as they would not give me a direct phone number..

Trying to get through the automated telephone system is a nightmare. Unhelpful customer service. Incorrect information on policy but wouldn't accept information over the telephone had to send photographic evidence. No contact telephone number on paperwork for breakdown cover!

This company have insured all my bikes for years and I’ve not had a problem- that’s because I’ve not had an accident or reason to claim Well, that was until 15/7/19 when a White van reversed into my beloved R1! I can’t fault their initial attention- they got me home on a trailer and the R1 (oil leaking from somewhere, so I wouldn’t attempt to start it till I got it up on my ramp) What they then then do is hand the whole business- (mine was a clear no-fault claim)- over to an outfit called 4th Dimension. Strange name, but you will find out why. This also appears to be the same company. Now, I do all my bike servicing and repairs- this outfit insisted I have them collect my bike- Not good! They needed chasing to update me- After 4 weeks, they agreed with the 3rd party that my bike was a write-off!! They offered me a derisory settlement without question- £2500 for a pre-accident PERFECT 18-year-old R1 that id owned since its birth (yes, I’m an old bugger!) I refused this/challenged it- and they simply get you to prove your point and are no help in this respect. So suddenly- they are not working in your favour? Then I called for my bike back, it arrived, and it had not only been stored outside for a month- They had damaged it!!! The van driver with Sheerness arm-warmers said- Well, it’s a write off isn’t it? Clearly the bike had been dropped and poorly handled- more dents, scratches etc. I took them to task and got some form of compensation- which enabled me to by a tank and exhaust off ebay- on top of what I need- When I received the engineers report- it was poorly prepared and claimed it had poor access to the bike- the photos show my bike jammed between 2 others and a broken clutch leaver digging into my front top fairing! From the damage photographed by the engineer- it is plain to see how my bike was FURTHER DAMAGED while in 4th Dimensions care- a matter that I’m continuing to challenge. Photos don’t lie! I’ve had my bike assessed by a trusted Bodyshop in Maidstone (Maidstone Bodyshop) who has challenged the write-off and said its not more than 40% of the value of my bike. So I feel I’ve been short-changed. Also, write off buyback is generally 25%- ive been cheated! I’ve no other experience in my 50 years of biking other than this and I’d hate others to go through the same process. BEWARE!!!

Cheapest quote. But 75 pounds to cancel a policy. Come on, you might think thisis clever MCD. But this will stop me in future using your company.

Had a policy with a bike - bought a new bike - wanted to move from one to the other. You wanted to charge me another £364.00 until the end of the year, on top of me already paying £500+ already. Went online - new policy only £668 ?? Finally spoke to someone with sense - cancelled the other policy - got money back on new one - this should NOT happen it was stressful and bad service.

I was mistaken with the number of years NCB I currently held. There was nothing fraudulent as the NCB was held with this very insurance company. When I was informed of the mistake I was asked to pay a further premium as expected, but when I did another quote on a comparison site the further premium was over-inflated. I rang but was on hold for approx 35 mins before I could speak to an advisor, and was told I would need to cancel my policy and take a separate one out. This would naturally incur an admin fee and I’d need to pay for the days I was insured, despite the advisor admitting I wouldn’t have been covered in the event of an accident. As a returning customer I would have expected better service.

After paying my premium I was informed by email that I had failed to disclose relevant information. This turned out to be the destruction of my classic car as the result of an arson attack two years ago. I pointed out that I was the victim of a crime and that I had no reason to associate this event with renewing my motorcycle insurance. My interlocutor was polite and sympathetic but still demanded an 'administrative' payment. I felt that this retrospective demand was unethical; the company could have discussed their problem with me before the deal was closed.

Found good deal on comparison site but when I phoned direct was told it was a different price by 10pounds so after approx 30 minutes on the phone operator cut me off before payment so phoned back and got the same situation again but finally got it all sorted out after another long phone call but did not like the way the operator tried to charge me more money when quoting the code given to me by e mail from the site

I was quoted a higher price for a gold package than compare the market was offering for the diamond package, I managed to get the diamond package only after extensive stressful conversation over the phone and at even more additional cost than my initial gold quote and it seems as though any added security like chain and padlock or crocklock brake lock added didn’t make a difference to price.
