Terrible customer service, refused to pay out at every opportunity. Eventually received what we were claiming for after we threatened to take complain further.

Had legal cover with home insurance but they would not allow us to claim and refused to send written details of why not, even though that is a legal requirement. Why bother having legal cover. We had consulted a barrister and had a high chance of winning the case but they were not interested and refused outright.

Took out house insurance in March 2018. Was sent £50 of co-op vouchers. Due to family bereavement, I didn't use £30 of these, contacted co-op and was informed that I could send the unused vouchers and they could be replaced. However on contacting them today, they refuse to re-issue. Well they have just lost my customer and recommendation. I cancelled my policy with immediate effect. To re-issue my vouchers, with the old ones back in their hands would've cost nothing. Shame on you co-op, and I hope others realise that you are not customer friendly at all !

Car Insurance!! Don't go there.....when I changed my car insurance to Direct line because they were £175 cheaper, they would not forward my full no claims, only 5 years , both myself and Co-op had proof of my full no claims! They were exstreamly awkward and it wasn't untill Direct line contacted them to tell them , they , had a photograph of above details, did they release my full no claims . Only reason they have one star from me is , so I could write this review.

Cheap travel insurance........until you come to claim then although the policy looks fair read the enclosed terms / small print carefully as what you expect covered may probably be excluded or difficult to claim.

Have a complaint about a leaking pipe at my 80 year-old mothers house. Reported 11 weeks ago, still leaking, house ripped to shreds by the insurers and uninhabitable. Phoned on Monday night and spoke to someone who said he’d phone me back - gave mobile number. No calls, no missed calls either. Phone on Tuesday to chase the first guy up, took my number, said he’d phone back. No call, no missed call. I WANT SOMEONE TO CALL ME BACK AND GET THIS SORTED. IT IS DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL THAT A NATIONAL, RECOGNISED COMPANY CHARING ALMOST £400 for house and contents insurance can leave an eighty year old lady in her house with this level of DESTRUCTION. THE CO-OP BANK IS TO BLAME FAIRLY AMD SQUARELY. I WOULD USE THEM FOR INSURANCE IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON THEM. THEY REALLY NEED TO GET THEMSELVES SORTED OUT AND COMMUNICATION NETWEEN THEIR THIRD PARTY COMPANIES ALSO.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY This policy was cancelled without my knowledge on 20th August I was not made aware of this until 04.09.18 with the letter date of 30th August. The company willingly and knowingly left me without insurance for 8 days. Utterly absurd.

Awful experience. Tried to con me into buying “extras” for my insurance by telling me items (mobile phone) not covered as didn’t have a particular module of insurance yet agreeing it was actually already covered by a different part of my insurance policy. Very misleading and wonder how many people are conned this way!

Terrible Service - I worry for Elderly or Vulnerable Policyholders. It has been over 5 months of terrible communication, no service and lack of action on my home insurance claim which has now led me to complain directly to the FOS & FCA. I have had my kitchen out of use for the best part of 4 months and have been offered a pathetic and insulting amount of compensation. I work in the insurance industry and I will be passing on full details of the service to all of my colleagues, peers and clients and would never consider this company as an option moving forward. I am disgusted in the way they work and I would worry if any of your elderly relatives had policies with them.

I have private reg.on car I am selling tried to update policy to new car but told would have to pay £15 admin fee and another £15 when I transfer my private reg. So cancelled policy at cost of £50 !! But have arranged same cover with a "proper" company saving £57 (I win) and can make any changes to policy FREE.

89yo Mother had a pipe leak in bathroom - wall floor and shower needed replaced. As I live a long way away - chose to have coop contractors......really bad decision!!! Dealing with 8 companies - most are cowboys and sent from long way away - why not use local suppliers! Workmanship awful too - despite coop admitting they messed up they are dodging payments! Coop people sound nice but basic incompetence and attitude negates any advice expectation! 40 yrs loyalty and no claims by Mother counts for nothing!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

After being robbed out of a ridiculous price of £1850 for my insurance policy, 6 months in with a black box, they are charging me an extra £100 even though I've been driving exactly the same way as I have throughout the course of the policy. Will 100% be going to another insurance provider on my renewal date. They may offer the cheapest price but it will end up costing more than the next cheapest company when they charge you more money after every 3 months review.

Due 2 the hosue being flooded co op offered 2 pay 4 the accommodation but after paying 4 grand out of my own pocket for 2 weeks 4 a apartment & co op said payment will reach us in 5 working days & now they have put the claim on hold & r refusing 2 pay out. I would serously becareful before taking out a home insurance with co op & if u do because they r cheap then make sure u read the policy

Renewal sent through post was significantly more expensive then the quote they sent me online, and also more expensive then I'd payed in previous years with them. Phoned to see if they would honour the online quote but they wouldn't. What is the point in giving quotes online if you won't honour them? Found a much better deal cheaper elsewhere. Make sure you don't auto renew with these people, as you could be stung by a pretty big price increase.

Totally let down, tried to upload my NCD to site, Did what was asked, infomed a week later asking where is it. emailed it back..told email not good, rang informed of issue. Was told I needed sell by date of NCD info. Rang previous insurer they contaced me back in four days. Too late insurance canceled by Coop. Had topay £150 to re-insure with Coop! out of pocket no customer support or help or guidance. Feel like I have been to a restaurant and paid for a meal and no food turned up!

Took out young persons car insurance 8 months ago and needed a black box in car no problem I thought, I advise anyone not to take out a cooperative policy it is a con to get extra money from you. For the first few months my driving scores are good then they started to come down even though I was driving no different. My dad even drove my car for a weekend and could not improve scores and he is a professional driver. It seems the closer to renewal you get the lower your dashboard scores so that they can charge you more to recover car after first year. And now they want to stop my policy because apparently I have done 112mph in a corsa, really top speed is only 108mph and I had 3 passengers and a full boot I don't think so, no reply emails and talking to customer services is a waste of time.Just a con please don't insure if your are a new driver find someone else

be very careful if you have a lot of no claims bonus when you insure with the coop - they will only recognise 9 years and if you don't renew with them they will only send out proof of no claims of 9 years - I joined them with 11 years and they sent me proof of no claims with only 9 years - and would not change this despite hours spent on the phone with them - this obviously has serious financial implications when you come to renew with another provider.

Unfortunately i have car insurance with them, customer service after making a claim was appalling, they don't seem to have the basic tools to attempt communicating with their customers. They are full of pathetic excuses and do not take complaints seriously. Do not recommend them at all, will be cancelling as soon as possible.
