We have staff based in Auckland, Hamilton, Cambridge, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Kapiti Coast, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Here at Geeks on Wheels, we have have spent more than a decade assisting New Zealanders with their IT needs – we take the stress and frustration out of computer repair and malware removal, so you can enjoy your laptop or computer as you are meant to.

“While the Technician didn't actually fix the problem with my printer not printing from the laptop he set up a work-around by leaving the AVG Secure VPN off. It will then print. This is probably the best solution although it doesn't explain why this has happened now when it previously worked perfectly. I can only assume that it could have been an update to the AVG software that caused it.”

Hi Rona! It sounds like your AVG update probably turned on the VPN which made the printer stop. VPNs very commonly make printers stop working so you usually have to disable them when you want to print. VPN software actually makes the computer look like it's on a different network, so when a computer is connected to the home network with a VPN on, it won't recognize printers on the same network. We're glad to hear you're up and running again!

“Your tecnician turned up when they said they would. Upon arrval they demonstrated immediately they understod the problem and set about fixing the problem(s) Within the allocated one hour fix the initial problem was fixed along with several others. Wouldn't hesitate to engage yourselves if issues arose again with my technology set up”

“Ash did an awesome job reconfiguring our home network. He suggested the TPlink mesh product which I’m loving right now. We now have strong wifi connection and all our lan/hubs are working perfectly. I’ll definitely recommend Geeks on wheels to anyone. Thanks you guys.”

“The Technician arrived promptly and wasted no time in looking at the offending equipment. He saw the problem immediately and produced the necessary cable from his pocket just like a magician*, connected it to the phone, and the problem was solved. (* He had obviously been told in advance the nature of the problem and had come prepared - not always does one follow the other.)”

“Regan did a great job reinstating my printer and cleaning up various areas on my computer. Regan explained everything very clearly and listened to any issues I had. She certainly knew what was required, was very efficient and was pleasant company.”

“The young man called Chance was very helpful with correcting the software problem I had on my computer. He also noticed where I had unnecessary and expensive programs installed.
