I am pleased that Geeks on Wheels was willing to take the time and effort to help me out with changing the battery for the APC box underneath the computer desk. However I am not happy about the fact that after Jacob had turned everything off to do this job, he somehow ended up disconnecting the printer from the computer. He did make a number of attempts to fix the problem, but I don't think he wanted to really try to get the problem solved in a responsible manner. And then charging a lot of money. I am not happy about this. one. It would be most appreciated if you could get someone to come over to fix this problem please. Also better communication would be most helpful as well. Thank you. Booking process and follow up comms great . Didn’t appreciate a tech turning up constantly sniffing….. and then as he had to re set a router asked to use my laptop! Surely a mechanic doesn’t turn up without his tools. Needless to say I won’t be returning to pay someone to use my equipment .

However, I sincerely apologise for the discomfort you experienced with our technician's sniffles and for the inconvenience of having to use your laptop. We strive to ensure our technicians are fully equipped for every job. Our technician was equipped with his iPad, which should have been sufficient to connect to your WiFi and set up your router, so using your laptop on this occasion could have been avoided. Your feedback is important, and we will address these issues to improve our service. We hope you might consider us again in the future for a better experience.

Hi Chris! Thanks for leaving us a review. Our technician who closed the ticket thinking all was okay will contact you shortly to address the ongoing issue. Since he hadn't heard from you, he was under the impression that your issue had been resolved. He will contact you today to reopen the case.

Geeks on Wheels did the job quickly to get back on the road. The new replacement desktop PC was not provided with sufficient information to ensure it even met the specs of the outgoing PC (no CD drive). It also had an unsuitable flimsy AZUS keyboard (not for serious writing use). Some programs licenced were not transferred, and GOW suggested loading these from my disk (without a CD drive being included!). There existed an option for a built-in disk drive, but I was not advised of it. I discovered this later. There is an option for higher internal RAM that was wanted but ignored. Very dissatisfied. I feel duped. A longer yellow cable would have been beneficial. The GOW knew his stuff.

My first two experiences were amazing the third was ghastly and I felt ripped off and will be exploring other options next time.

Hi Peter. Thank you for the feedback on our service. We train all our staff and ensure that their knowledge is up to date, but unfortunately, not every piece of information can be memorized and taught, and even the most trained technicians will run into problems that they have not encountered before. We will endeavor to get more training to Dunedin to ensure their knowledge is up to date, however, so that we know that they know everything they should for Apple products.

I found Vivek to be super helpful, efficient and pleasant to deal with. However, the call centre was a different story. I was not impressed. They couldn't give me a time only that he would be there between 8am and 12pm. I told them I had to leave at 11am so they said they'd book me as the first appointment, shortly after 8am. They didn't pass on, I had to leave at 11am. He had a meeting that morning that was scheduled and they knew about, When he did ring it was too late. I wasted a whole morning. You have to be able to book a time. Saying, sometime in the morning is not good enough.

Hi Joanne, We're very sorry about the confusion with your booking on the 30th of November. Due to the nature of computer repair, we do not know how long jobs will generally run for so we are only able to provide either a morning or afternoon as a guide regarding when we'll arrive. But as you know, we do have the first appointment available for a specific time and the operator did book that time for you as requested. Unfortunately, after she had done that, a meeting was then booked over the top of that by a separate part of the business for our techs which led to our technician unable to get to you at the arranged time. We are very sorry for the confusion here as we usually spot issues like this before they occur. However in this case we did miss that and are very sorry for the oversight. I sincerely hope your issue was resolved and want to apologize again for what happened.

Problem with Microsoft Office 365 Outlook Email not resolved after 2 visits. Either software is a dog or setup is not right.

I am not sure why you find it acceptable to charge me for a full hour when the man was only here for 37 minutes. So you owe me $20 but when will I receive it? I know you will hope that I come back to your firm but if I die in the meantime, you still owe me $20. That is not acceptable and what are you going to do about it? Do I have to approach Fair Go about it? How many other people are you doing that to? As regards to the mechanic, he needs to smarten up his appearance like do his hair.

Ashvin was great to work with and attempted to resolve the issue as best he could, unfortunately, the standard resolution of installing $450 worth of new modems did not work.

After a week of being with GoW, I am more than a $1000.00 out of pocket and my issue has still not been fixed. I was told I would need to purchase the updated version of microsoft windows as this may stop my computer from crashing. I agreed, this cost me $259.00. He also mentioned if I installed the MALWAREBYTES program this may stop my computer from crashing - this cost me $140 + GST. Unfortunately the tech person could NOT install the updated microsoft program, and mentioned it would be best if he took my laptop away, I had an important meeting later that day, and that he would have to book for time to come back at another time to collect the laptop, he then mentioned as I would be using GoW multiple times he recommended I purchase the GEEK PLUS individual package which cost $189 + GST. He then left and my techno cost for the labour was $136.60 + gst (this included the $15 call out fee). The techno guy came over the next day to collect to take my computer and mentioned they will need to install a new hard drive (cost = $219.00 + gst) and install the updated version of MS - as this will be done at their office space in Kilbirnie. The new hard drive would definitely stop my laptop from crashing. The laptop was returned a few days later plus the additional labour costs of $182.40 + gst. I am still awaiting a quote for the new battery and a new extension cord, which I was told would take them a couple of hours to send, it's now been a couple of days and I have still not received a quote. In the interim I have rang around and got a quote for a new battery & extension cord and with the additional labour costs - I was quoted $428.95. Note as mentioned my laptop is still crashing. Poor service for a lotta money paid so far. Not a happy chappie. After consulting with the manager - it was agreed that GoW would refund me part of my costs - I’m am satisfied with the managers decision and the refund amount

Good customer service is important to us and we usually find that the service we have supplied is great so reading through this it sounds like the ball has been dropped here somewhere. The initial problem that warranted my call was fixed promptly - however the Technician then changed something on my settings which took him a further 45 minutes to recify.

A 5-star standard is what we expect our customers to receive, we understand that this job may have taken longer than required due to the mistake made by the technician however we have looked into your appointment and it seems that the total time of the invoice did not exceed the minimum so luckily no additional charge was created due to this error. I had you come do a service on my computer and windows 11 was installed, however as explained it didn't come through properly due to a technical fault with Windows. My tech came back (whom is a very nice gentleman) and got it installed correctly. As agreed you reimbursed the additional visit which was very much appreciated.

Hi I just met Ray and checked if he now could receive emails on his new iPhone, but unfortunately he cannot. I am sure Barnaby did his best, but we still have a problem with a new iPhone that does not receive emails. Please help. Thanks Margriet

Helpful having the photos retrieved, but no help at all when they are loaded onto a computer that you have said needs replacing- and we cannot use!

I am waiting for another issue to be sorted remotely, was happy with the service but the main issue was unable to be sorted during the technicians visit.

As much as I can say, the service of the work done is great. However, flip side, calling the 0800 customer service line is so frustrating as all they do is take my name & number & get someone to call me back. A call I would get towards the end of the day. Every single time I have called!

We apologise that there has been a delay in getting a reply from our customer service line, during peak times there can be a delay with responses from our tech support line however we are working on improving this service to minimise these delays. Calls to our 0800424335 bookings team are normally answered within a few minutes of the call.
