“The bed was delivered a week or so after placing the order, we were kept updated on progress throughout.. The bed itself didn't feel like it was worth the price however, and where the slats should go wasn't marked either.”

The additional screws will be tucked into the protective packaging on the legs. “I was very excited about my bed coming but sadly the instructions to put the bed together were very lacking. After three hours of three adults trying to put the bed together we finally managed it, although, some places still don't look like they fit quite right.”

“Bed kit arrived promptly - good delivery tracking. Several pieces slightly dented but managed to hide the worst during construction. One bed end was missing two sets of pre drilled holes and no screws for the bed slats were provided. Finished article looks ok and seems fit for purpose but very disappointed and do not consider this purchase was good value for money - basically £500 for a pile of planks!”

“The bed is great quality but I've marked down because the instructions are terrible. My partner and I are competent at building furniture and have done it a lot recently but the instructions are far too minimalist and leave out key information like which piece of wood the image is referring to and which way round it goes. We also ordered a King Size and were sent a piece of wood that on the instructions is said is only needed for the Super King + so weren't sure whether to include it or not. Please, make your instructions more detailed and then this would be an excellent service.”

“---Delivery--- 2/5 I ordered the ottoman bed without white glove delivery to avoid an additional month for delivery in my area. I had to wait for the courier for 5 hours as per the slot given. The courier only delivered 1 package over 7 without explanations. Then an hour later 6 packages got delivered by another van. Very confusing --Assembly-- 2/5 Thankfully hobbyist woodworker otherwise I would have struggled. It took me and my partner 4 hours to assemble. The drawings are not exact or some are missing (piston assembly). I strongly recommend a mallet, a powered and manual screwdriver, a wrench, and a measuring tape. The piston assembly was the most painful without clear instructions. The inventory was difficult, none of the srcews counts matched. The assembly was so cumbersome that I will not have to disassemble this bed anytime soon. -- bed -- 3/5 Just about OK, the pine is soft, can be prone to scratches, I regret not going for harder wood. This is an expensive bed for a pine bed. The wooden frame is wobbly when lifted, it does not inspire solidiy. It is pleasing esthetically.”

“Bed seems ok so far but a few issues. Firstly I paid for assembly and the guy didn’t notice one of the slats had a large chunk missing, I felt like I should just sign off without a proper inspection. As for the bed itself they do not come without enough slats (eg the gaps range up to 4.5 inches in some places and most mattresses should only be max 3 inch gaps). They say you can buy extra slats but they should just send with 10 or 11 slats not 9 for a double. And given I paid for assembly it’s annoying enough having to “buy” an extra slat to only then have to remove and re drill them in! Given the damaged slat I was given an extra free but it doesn’t really cover the cost/hassle of redoing the slats to fit an extra one in. Will see how the bed lasts but the slat issue is so easy to fix and tainted the experience.”

“Excellent communication. Loved the option to add extras and to choose a finish. Excellent delivery as well and the bed itself looks great. The only major downside was that the bed was an absolute nightmare to build. Parts of it were made out of pine and those were super easy to assemble. However putting together the parts made of oak was nearly impossible. Personally I can't understand why having the installation included is not a must-have when you choose a hardwood finish.”

“Low Tokoyo Bed not very easy to put together. Instructions could be clearer. And trying to fit the wooden headboard slats together was impossible. Subsequently there are gaps albeit very small bit its not a perfect fit. Also 2 screw caps short. I don't think I would buy again. Sorry.”

“Some disappointment with this order, firstly I was given the wrong information by customer services regarding the use of glue in the construction of the bed, and then when I raised this issue after the bed was delivered, there was reluctance to correct the issue. It’s not been corrected to date and I had to make adjustments as to how I wanted the bed set up. The Oak bed tenon corner joints cannot be tightened which means the bed now creaks when you move in the bed. Other beds I’ve constructed use a form of corner joint that when bolted together actually tightens the joint. I went for this bed because I thought it was superior and made in the UK! The draws have unsightly metal corners on our lovely oak boards, there must be another way to create a corner with the joint mechanism hidden. I think the price justifies a better-quality approach. There’s no obvious sign on the website of these metal corners. The black screws provided in the drawer kit are not wood screws, the gauge is too large, and split the wood, also the raised heads do not allow the boards to sit in the metal corners correctly. I used my own smaller screws. All of the pre-drilled holes in the drawers had to be redrilled as the screws would not go into the oak. As far as lining up the draw bottom boards, I had to resort to screwing them all to a temporary baton during the construction of the draw, even with two people it was impossible to get them to fit, without the extra baton. I would say a necessary tool for the assembly of an Oak bed frame, and drawer, is a good power impact/screwdriver.”

I have listened to all of the calls you have had with the team and I can only apologise that one member did make the error in saying that we do not use glue. We use wood glue on the battens and, on some designs, within the bed frame itself. This person has been re educated already after the incident. I can see that replacement parts were organised for delivery before Christmas for you. Please do let the customer service team know if you are still having issues because of this. “The bed is lovely and the coffee stain is gorgeous. However it was really difficult to put together, because the instructions provided really weren’t very clear. It took us nearly 4 hours! There also weren’t enough screws included - luckily I had some in of the same size. Next time I would choose the option to pay for assembly (I usually enjoy flat pack assembly and needed the bed in a hurry so opted for standard delivery).”

“Very happy with the bed itself, well made and easy enough to assemble. Shame I didn’t get any assembly instructions which would have made the job much easier. Very disappointed with the quality of the slats however. 6 of the nine I received had loose knots, one had some pine sap on it and most weren’t adequately sanded. I contacted Get Laid beds and they replaced the 6 slats. 3 of the replacements also had sticky sap on them, one of those on both sides and one was badly split through the knots. In the end I had to glue several knots in place and sand the slats myself to make them suitable for use. I have an expensive mattress and it deserves a good quality, clean and smooth base on which to rest. I hadn’t expected to have to finish part of the bed myself. Very disappointing. The slats have proved to be a big let down for an otherwise well designed and well made product.”

“Well I have been making flat pack furniture since the 80’s and this is the worse. Instructions were a over copied 2 sheets that were barely readable. The super king was supposed to have an extra support but a too short piece came with no instructions how to fit. The screws to secure I just could not screw home despite a power screwdriver. For the price some 575 pounds I am not impressed but I’m using the bed now. I hope I don’t fall through the slats!!”

Its disappointing to see this has happened. The instructions are all printed fresh from PDF, not photocopied over and over. We do use 100% recycled paper. This recycled paper can cause the ink to appear grey rather than black. We are sorry that this has caused any frustrations with you not being able to see the required part regarding the central rail clearly enough. We can forward you the PDF version if you require. “The product is sturdy and looks nice. Construction is a bit unsophisticated. Enough screws will make anything stay up. No nifty knock down fittings here. You will need a drill and driver bit to assemble. It suits our needs but seems pretty overpriced for what it is.”

“We were initially pleased with the quality of the wood and the packaging, however, much to our disappointment, the pre-drilled holes were appalling - most of them were in the wrong place, so my husband had to fill them and re-drill the holes (pictures attached). Once this was sorted, the drawers looked good.”

“The delivery team refused to assemble my bed even though I paid for assembly, because they didn't have a legal place to park. Ultimately not a big issue, put it together myself fairly easily BUT - they told me I would get a refund of the assembly cost and I don't think I have received one.”

“The Low Oriental bed headboard is much lower then the photo I have seen on the website. I am frustrated with this buying order. Hope you can seriously look into the size then to deliver.”

“The delivery of the bed was on time and the quality of the bed overal is very good. We are disappointed with how the bed was packed, as the polystyrene has damaged the felt floor protectors. Considering we had to pay extra to have these protectors, we are very annoyed that this happened.”
